Our 160 acre property is surrounded on all four sides by miles of National Forest. We recently built our cabin/house adjacent to Trout creek which runs through the property. This property was originally homesteaded in the 1800’s. An original two story cabin built in the 1890s still stands on the property. The logs in that cabin are said to have come from “The Meeker Massacre” (one of the last Indian uprisings in the west). We still hay the 60 acre meadow that has fed cows for many years on the property. Campers can expect to see all kinds of wildlife, from large moose to small chipmunks on the property. Hiking around the meadow is a favorite activity of campers, or just relaxing in a rocking chair looking at the beautiful views.Our camp is a beautifully done tent in a fabulous forest. Tent camping in the pines and aspens. Wake up in the morning to fabulous views of the majestic Sand Mountain as you rock on the front porch with your favorite beverage. Relax the day away at camp or take a day trip to one or more of the nearby reservoirs and lakes, or hike the forest close to home.

A really special place, this is our 2nd visit here. Lovely to just sit and stare out at the meadow for hours at a time. Hosts are great and we hope we can visit again.

Alice and Joe were excellent hosts. They extended their hospitality and made us feel right at home. The property is unforgettable. We saw moose, deer, and other wildlife. The location gives you a remote experience paired with the luxuries of a bed, fire pit + wood, counter space and sink. We would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing experience.

Glamping at its finest!
Awesome camp! We really enjoyed it! Quiet, private, and peaceful! We just stayed a night, & it was very nice & comfortable too! The road up to the camp site is rough & rocky. We did fine in our Subaru, but took it slow. Alice & Joe were very accommodating & helpful! Thank you!

4 of us stayed at Joe and Alice’s beautiful tent and campsite, and it was so lovely and peaceful. The meadows and sunset were stunning, and we even saw a moose in the morning! Alice was super communicative and Joe met us onsite and helped us get settled in. Our car ended up getting stuck in the mud on the way there, but he helped pull us out. Do yourself a favor and get the chili — it is delicious!
