Cottage Cabin Nestled in Aspens
Nice tiny cabin in Phantom Canyon
We stayed in Cottage Cabin #2 and had a great time! It is nestled by a group of aspen trees and rock outcroppings. Our 6 yr old had a fun running through the woods right by the side of the cabin and climbing the rocks. There was a little bit of water trickling in the hidden stream too. We hung a hammock in the trees, collected raspberries right behind the cabin and hiked all through the woods. Remember to bring all of your linens & pillows, food/snacks/plenty of ice and all the water you will need for the whole trip, flashlights, a full size propane tank, camp stove, utensils and plates, as it's a little bit of a drive to get to town for more supplies. The upper bunk bed uses twin size sheets and the lower bed used queen. We preferred bringing sheets and blankets instead of our sleeping bags. Our dogs loved the property too and enjoyed exploring the woods with us. We took a drive farther through the canyon one day and stopped to play in the stream all afternoon. We passed a nice hiking trail too in the canyon, but didn't hike it this trip (next time). We went to see Rita the Troll the day we went into Victor & Cripple Creek, which is a fun little hike to see her. We can't wait to come back in a few months to see the leaves changing. It's such a pretty area and a little hidden gem. Thanks for the great stay!
