You will LOVE IT! Been coming to this magical part of the San bernardino mountains since I was a little girl. I learned to ski here when there was an old ski hill and tow ropes! Lots of mountain trails to hit! My Father and Grandfather both spent time here and nothing has changed! We just recently remodeled our little slice of heaven! It is single story with all open beam ceilings, wood floors throughout and hiking right out the door to miles and miles of trails! Stunning sunsets, a cute town with lots of live music. We purchased Namaste Farms in 1997 when I was showing reined cowhorses as well as raising thoroughbred racehorses. In 2005, I purchased my first wool sheep and fell in love. Today, Namaste Farms is recognized around the globe for raising high quality wool producing sheep. While sheep are the primary animals at Namaste Farms, there are countless other animals, both four legged and feathered!NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. Know, you're supporting a 501c3 charity and all the revenue goes to support the animals.This booking is for the Treehouse, and while it's only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres, and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all ~ 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, UBER is only too happy to come here and pick you up! If you're not interested in any activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity.

NOTE: Namaste Farms is a true working farm with copious amounts of sheep, goats, chickens, peafowl, and countless other animals. Along with those, we have free range squirrels, rabbits, flies, dust and yes, even free range spiders. If you're wanting a rustic experience that gives you a break from city life and you can handle dust, dirt, cobwebs (and these can happen over night inside your cottage and WILL be in the common areas), with sounds of animals vocalizing at all hours of the day and night, then Namaste Farms is a perfect fit for you. While most guests (and your hosts) see the idiosyncrasies and obvious cohabitation with animals and bugs beautiful, you may not. If your primary focus is on amenities, and you're looking for a completely dust/dirt, cobweb/bug, and animal/animal sound free experience, a working farm is probably not a good fit for you. We are dog friendly, but to keep our free range animals safe (and we have had them injured or killed by people not recognizing that dogs are predatory by nature), please keep your dog easily under control and on a short leash at all times. Also, because it's not possible to control your dog on a long line, dogs may NOT be tied or tethered anywhere on the property. For the sake of the antique furniture, do not leave your dog alone in the cottage unless they are crate trained and in a crate. If you want to let your dog off leash, 2 blocks down our road (and off property), there is a large scrub field where you can let your dog run free. Thank you for supporting this 501c3 charity where all the revenue goes to support the animals and the large number of dogs we foster from high kill shelters. This booking is for the Hay Barn cottage located at Namaste Farms in the heart of Temecula's Wine Country. This is a beautiful and quiet (with the exception of animal/farm sounds) private working farm situated down a wide and maintained disintegrated granite/dirt rd. While the cottage is only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs, Green Acres and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. If you're not interested in any of the above activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, enjoy the sounds of serenity while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit! The "Hay Barn" cottage is a studio with high ceilings, a beautiful stained glass window, a kitchenette and a rustically chic bathroom. The Hay Barn sleeps 3; one queen bed with a twin pull out. Please let us know ahead of time if you need the pullout and you MUST put the accurate number of people who are staying here. If you have more people in your group and don't want to share, please check out the main cottage, Hammie and the Treehouse in separate listings. Please keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there is dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and they will surely leave with dust on their shoes. 3 nights at Villa Macala

Macala Orchards is a beautiful Mediterranean-inspired property filled with boulders of every size & shape, olive trees, purple sages, wild rabbits and coyotes yipping. My 13 year old daughter spent most of each days climbing the boulders. We watched birds & ground squirrels. Found a funnel spider. Tried to get close to a rabbit at evening silflay. Did the olive oil tasting (multiple award winners including a best of the world!) which was wonderful & luckily our two favorite oils were available for sale. When we first arrived, the property manager David met us at the gate & did a great orientation. Rich, the patriarch, took us on an inspiring tour of the property, zipping up and down hills in his golf cart. Our tent site was close to their new, bright bathroom, which had a decent-sized hot shower. I was able to park my SUV near the place we chose for the tent. There are lots of spots to park and/or set up one’s tent, s actually. I just chose a spot that was flat, under a tree & near a picnic shelter with a view for my morning coffee time. We didn’t use the bigger bathroom/kitchen area as we didn’t need the microwave, fridge or sink up there. (We are self sufficient that way.) My daughter wants to go back, as do I, but I think for vastly different reasons. She loved the rocks & building the fire. I loved the trees that came from Italian soil & knowing it Italian blood that build everything. Macala Orchards is a place good for the soul.

My 6 year old son and I camped in a tent in the Oak Grove and had a spectacular time!! Even in the rain it was incredibly refreshing and inspiring. I honestly don’t know why other people say this place is not stellar. I have super high expectations for the vibe and aesthetic of where we camp and this place is amazing. We hiked for hours and hours and took the scenery in. The animals are a joy. The staff at the camp store is so nice. You’re obviously not in the pristine wilderness in Fallbrook, but this feels as removed as you can get. 5 stars -we will be back!

I absolutely loved camping here! Everyone is so friendly and nice. Signs were easy to read and know exactly where to go. It felt so safe and cozy, for a solo traveler like myself that’s very important. Also, it gets DARK make sure you have a headlamp. My pup also enjoyed walking around and meeting the animals on this property. Already planning to come back!

Let me start by saying we ABSOLUTELY LOVED Villa Macala Orchards campgrounds. The property is beautiful, majestic and grand. The facilities and campgrounds are immaculately clean. After booking the reservation, Nina then contacted us to provide detailed information and instructions about our stay. Nina is very friendly, considerate and accommodating. Upon our arrival we were met by David who is full of personality, entertaining stories and knowledge of the surrounding environment. He also shared a few of his favorite hiking spots to explore. We were also delighted and impressed by the olive oil tasting that was given to us by Rich, the owner of the property. Rich is very hospitable and inviting. His love for his craft and consideration of his surroundings is endearing. This place is enchanting. We will be coming back for sure. I highly recommend Macala to anyone looking for a truly wonderful experience. We already booked a few more days in April.

We had a great time camping here. Communication was clear, the area is beautiful, and other campers were nice. We loved visiting with the goats, alpaca, sheep, and pig. The general atmosphere felt safe and calm. The fact that we saw some solo female campers and moms with their kids attest to the overall friendly vibe of this place.

What a pleasant surprise! We stayed one night in the van life camp area. It’s peaceful with interesting scenery. You could hear the mortars from the marine base, but it is not as jarring because they tell you to expect random explosion noise noises. My suggestion would be to take the route through the town of Fallbrook. If you are coming from the north, Apple Maps suggest getting off on Clinton Keith Road. While it’s a pretty drive, it’s very hilly, and very narrow. Take the extra time and go through Fallbrook. We will definitely go back!

Christoper has done everything possible to make sure you have everything you need to have a relaxing time or go hiking on miles of trails. The kitchen is fully stocked, all the essentials. The dome is very comfortable and is easy to stay warm in the cold months is easy to keep warm. Curious to see how it is in summer. All you need to do is bring blankets and a sense of adventure. Make sure you keep a leash on your little dogs. the vultures knew he was there and were waiting. Haha. Get ready to poop outside! It’s surprisingly relaxing. Leave a rock :) Keep the tradition going. Thank you Christopher for making such an awesome place and letting us enjoy it.

Loved staying here, the hosts were very generous and accommodating! We stayed at the elderberry park site. Very tidy and well kept. The site is surrounded by plants, trees and huge boulders, just beautiful. They just put in a new bathroom with a shower and flush toilet. Tankless water heater gives you hot water! There was a small problem but the hosts were on it right away. Would love to stay here again in the future! Thank you Richard, David and Nina

Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Villa Macala is a 20-acre oasis of detailed landscape, orchards and Southern CA native planting while complimenting the natural rocks and gorgeous views. Overlooking the Hemet Valley with gorgeous panoramic views of the San Jacinto Mountains, Villa Macala is reminiscent of an Italian Villa. The property landscape includes Olive Orchards throughout, a growing vineyard, fig trees, pomegranate trees. Villa Macala is 15 minutes from Diamond Valley Lake where you can enjoy a wildflower trail, fishing or mountain bike trails, museum and water park. It is 20-30 minutes to Pachea Trail and Simpson Park where you can enjoy more great hiking and mountain bike trails. It is also a 30-minute drive to Temecula Wine Country. We have 2 outdoor bathrooms, one was most recently added one at our Elderberry Camp Site (site 1), closer to site 4 our Oaks Campsite as well. (Please note our 2nd bathroom is a good walk uphill from the campsites). Our larger bathroom campers can use with a shower and small fridge to store your food. We also have a playground with swing set for kids to enjoy. PLEASE NOTE: Bookings must be made at least 48 hours in advance. FIRES: No fires are to be lit by the campers without verbal consent from property owner and instruction. SEE property owner/camp host upon arrival about what you may use on the property. He will provide instructions. TASTINGS: Macala Orchards Olive Oil, Various Jellies and Jams Pomegranate Juice all made from what we grow are available for tasting upon request. Bailes Farm

One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). On my 60 acres, there are no major roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive and avocado groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base is nearby, so you might hear some artillery in the distance on some occasions. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim. The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.
