Garden Goddess Farm is located in the Sierra Foothills on 6+ acres of organic edible gardens, manzanita, pines and oaks. The gardens and land help to support guests to unplug from business, bond with nature, explore homesteading practices, herbs and get inspired to learn how to grow your own food!

Individuals, Couples and Families love the farm because of the quiet surroundings, great food and opportunity to learn about sustainable living.

Farm is conveniently located 20 minutes from Auburn, Nevada City and Grass Valley. You do drive through a residential neighborhood to get to this unique location that has views of the forest, valley and Sierras. We are 60-90 minutes

from Lake Tahoe, Donner Lake, Truckee and  ski resorts. We have an on-site Personal Chef that is available to create Farm-Fresh Gourmet Meals, Culinary Homesteading Classes, Private Garden and Foraging Tours.

We love celebrations and many guests come here to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, personal retreats and special occasions.

Most guests opt in for farm-fresh meal samplers, but feel free to bring your own camp stove, ice chest and food to cook.

Privacy and what to expect: Property is usually very quite and overlooks hundreds of acres of forest looking toward the Snow-capped Sierras in the Winter and Spring. 

We are located in a neighborhood (Alta Sierra- in between Auburn and Grass Valley). We ask that everyone uses soft voices since we are in a canyon and sound travels to a few neighboring houses.

There are 5 Hipcamp sites on property, so we could have up to 20 guests in a weekend. There is a main farmhouse where the manager and culinary students reside. Chef Susan mentors teens at the local highschools and homeschools and loves to share her knowledge about the land.

There is a Culinary Classroom, Upper Deck and Gardens to enjoy. If you have teenagers, they love it here! 1/2 Basketball court, cooking and foraging classes.

Accommodations

1. The Enchanted Meadow Love Shack (sleeps 3)

(190 square feet) 1 King Bed and 1 twin.  It's about 200 feet from main farm house and traditional bathroom. The path to and from this unit is steep and a dirt path with many stairs. If you have a 4 wheel drive you can drive right up to the unit. Bring your own sleeping bag or sleeping gear. 

2. The Love Shack Tree House and Tent site (sleeps 2)

1 queen bed and balcony that overlooks garden. There is a tree growing inside this unit. There are table and chairs so you can cook on the balcony or the bbq area about 30 feet from unit. So cool! Bathroom and cool shower are 50 feet down a dirt path. Additionally, there is an area to pitch a tent. For example if a family of 4 wanted to split up and 2 in treehouse, 2 in the tent area. There is an additional $18 per guest if you want to use the campsite in addition. Please bring your own sleeping bag or sleeping gear.

3. The Sunrise Suite (sleeps 2)

1 loft twin bed (must climb a ladder ) and 1 couch futon. There an area in front of the unit for 2 people to eat and sit. Common bathroom and shower are 20 feet away.

4. Enchanted Meadow with 3 Serenity Tent sites (max capacity 6) 

This beautiful spot is great for groups, couples and families. To access this serene, private, nature-rich area, be prepared to walk down a steep path. It only takes 5 minutes to walk down which is the easier part. Walking back up the trail you may feel winded since we are at 2,250 elevation. Best to pack a backpack with your gear if you don't want to make too many trips back and forth to your car unless it's part of your workout :) .

There is an activity Teepee / Tipi and we encourage you to participate in the writing, arts and crafts projects! 

We have wildlife and bears may visit if you have accessible food. So bear-proof your food if at campsite or best to leave in car or farmhouse kitchen. 

When available, farm-fresh meals can be ordered and delivered to campsites. Otherwise you can prepare cooked meals up near main farmhouse.  Other guests may be passing through on the nature trail during your stay  but you have the ability to reserve the area as "Private" so no other guests will be visiting. $150/night for the 3 sites or $200/night to block off the entire meadow area for privacy.

5. The Big Deck Experience! (sleeps 2-4 adults. No children due to the height of deck and hot/cold tub) Enjoy breathtaking views of the Sierras, valley and forest from the balcony. Couch turns into a comfortable bed for 2. For additional adults, you need to bring sleeping pads for on the deck. Enjoy meals at 1 or both of the large dining tables. Play the gong and do some sound healing! This space is part of the main farmhouse (owner's residence) and has a beautiful 75 x 15 foot redwood deck with views of the Sierras. This area can be blocked off for privacy from 7pm-10am. At 10 some other guests may come to the area for brunch. Manager and 2 other guests live in the main farmhouse, so this area is considered "semi-private" Other guests may access deck during the day (this is negotiable depending on situation)

$ 225/night includes up to 4 adults and 1 Farm-fresh Happy Hour. Sample appetizers and beverages from the farm!

Upper Deck/Balcony: If not reserved for a private party, you may enjoy  the gongs, meals and  play a game in the shaded sitting areas. There are 2 large tables for dining and a couch that seats 8 for relaxing. When not raining we have a rug out for yoga. Deck overlooks the organic demonstration gardens and fruit orchard. If available, you can book an educational or foraging tour with one of the farm volunteers.

Fresh chicken eggs are usually available for purchase.

Garden Goddess Farm is a great place for kids  and adults to learn about nature, cooking, culinary arts, foraging, growing your own food, medicinal / culinary herbs and sustainable living.

Manager, Chef Susan-Executive Director of the Honey Bee Foundation, is usually on-site is available to prepare meals. She graduated from UC Berkeley, is a Master Gardener and has additional certifications in Creating Sustainable Communities and Permaculture Design. She mentors teens in the culinary arts and entrepreneurship and is the author of 2 books available on Amazon. Nopales-No Problema - The Joy of Cooking with Cactus and Recipes from the Garden Goddesses for Cuisine, Health and Beauty. 

Nearby Attractions to research: Historic Empire Mine, Grass Valley, Nevada City, Truckee and Auburn. Wine-tasting and local wineries. The beautiful South Yuba River or Bear River is a must-experience with their granite rocks and emerald pools.

Scott's Flat Lake and other Fishing Lakes off of Hwy 20 (30-60 minutes),

Trails for Mountain Biking and Hiking. 

Lake Tahoe, Truckee and Donner Lake (1 hour 15 min drive). 

What to bring to all accommodations:

Pet Policy:

- If you'd like to bring along your pet, we are happy to accommodate.

Camp Nauvoo

Camp Nauvoo was originally bought by the LDS church in the 1960's for a girl's camp.  The camp was owned by the Boy Scouts from 2011-2015.  The Rose family bought the property in 2016 with the intent to continue the tradition of tent camping as well as creating opportunities for exclusive events i.e., group/family reunions, weddings and corporate events.  

We are a small privately owned small campground (20 sites only) located on the outskirts of Placerville. The property features 86.5 secluded Tahoe like acres with beautiful year-round Weber Creek. The camp sites are placed along the creek or the bluff overlooking the creek. We have traditional dirt camping, canvas tents on platforms, teepees and glamping tents for those that want the comforts of home.  We are tent camping only with only one site that allows a small travel trailer or van. (#14) .  We are dog friendly and allow dogs in all but 5 glamping sites.  We do enforce camp rules especially our quiet time between 10 PM and 7 AM (please review).

We’ve been told that we have a “family camp” vibe.  We are a great place for families wanting a safe environment for their kids but also several group sites for those that want to hang out together with multiple families.  We are also a great base site for those wilderness enthusiasts with access to all the El Dorado National Forest including Desolation but want a hot shower at the end of the day.  

We have a lodge that is stocked with games and a ping pong table.  The lodge has a microwave, Keurig machine and a hot water kettle for those hot drinks (BYO Cups).We have several tables set up for those that want to eat inside as well as multiple picnic tables along the side of the lodge with overhead protection.  We have electricity at the at the lodge for small appliances and charging phones.  We have a compressor on site to blow up your air mattresses or float toys.  We’ve been told that our bathrooms are the “cleanest” ever and have changing tables and diaper pails.  We offer nice flushing toilets and hot showers!    We have many extra amenities including a compressor to use for your air mattresses, 

For outdoor activities we have basketball, volleyball, pickleball and cornhole not to mention the playground with swing sets, seesaw and tractor play.  We have hiking trails throughout the property.  Our highlight is a camp fire bowl with bench seating with a stage to display camper talent which is perfect for the evening fire and roasting s’mores (bring the fixings).

The creek starts out in spring looking like a rushing river featuring many fishing and swimming holes.  As the summer progresses the water level falls but is still great for water play and fishing.  

We have propane BBQs (we provide the propane for BBQs) located throughout the property.  We also have a propane grill and charcoal BBQ located in the common area for all to use.  There is a dutch oven pit also in the fire bowl area.  

We do not allow wood fires at the individual sites but each site has a propane firepit for ambiance (not cooking) that requires you to purchase a 20 lb. propane cannister on site (add in extras) or pay cash on site.  

No internet service.  There is limited internet only available for purchases at the setore.

We require a 3 night minimum for the major holidays - Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.  We do not do checkins on Sunday but do allow camping over Sunday night.  We do exclusive events so you may need to explore multiple weekends to find the right reservation. 

We are located in the foothills so we are a short hop to many local attractions that include river rafting, gold mines, wineries and historical towns with great eating establishments.  Tahoe is less than an hour away and there a many hiking trails within 20-30 minutes.

We have a limited number of items to rent i.e, tents, cots, camp stoves, etc.  We rent a battery pack for those that use a cpap.  We also have a small store on site for those items you forgot and a good selection of ice cream and ice.   We take venmo or cash.

CHECKIN IS BETWEEN 4 AND 8.  IF YOU ARE COMING FROM THE BAY ALLOW 4 HOURS - YOU MUST LEAVE BY 3:00 IN ORDER TO ARRIVE DURING CHECKIN.  IF YOU GET DELAYED, FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THE OTHER CAMPERS YOU MAY CONSIDER WAITING AND ARRIVING THE NEXT MORNING.  THERE ARE NO CHECKINS AFTER 9:00.

There is definitely enough space to set up the tent off of the platform, but we thought, "why not?". 

For whatever reason, pitching the tent on the platform changed the whole feel for us.  So much fun!

The teepee currently has simple interior, but that may change in the future as this is a new shelter

The camp has some space, and you can easily fit another tent on the site and/or the platform would be a great place to do some cowboy camping.

Shared Abundance Organic Farm

I bought the deserted kiwi orchard in 1997, thinking it would be a place of healing. As the days and weeks progressed, I felt that all I wanted to do was to learn what the land had to teach me.  So I turned all my attention and intention toward Nature, and began to reclaim the orchard from the blackberry overgrowth.  As the years have gone by, I have added many other crops. Now we produce fruits, flowers, herbs, Microgreens & Vegetables... & I am still learning!!   We would be happy to create a cleansing refreshment or meal for campers if notified in advance. We are happy to host campers who have a passion for Nature and are interested in sustainable living and seeing the beauty of the Sierra Foothills.

Animal Lovers Paradise



Pitch your tent smack dab in the middle of HartSong Ranch Animal Sanctuary - some of the most beautiful acreage in the Sierra Nevada Foothills.  Cook a delicious, campfire meal - kick up your heels "a bit" after a long, hard day and then - Whew!  Cop a squat, sit back, exhale and prepare yourself to take it all in.  Silence is golden around here and once here, you will soon come to know – that if you blend in, be quiet, listen and observe – NATURE, in all its glory, will reveal its majesty - right before your very eyes.  

The 2 acre pond reflects the brilliance of “harmony” in nature.  The water is pure, clean and abundant with life yet, HartSong Ranch is a pesticide free facility.  Nature, taking care of itself, is truly a beautiful thing.  Yellow Water Iris are in full bloom, spring through early summer.  Dragonflies and butterflies sparkle in the sunshine.  Frogs croak, bats dart here and there and big mouth bass become airborne in search of dinner in the early evening hours.  Blue and White Heron visit the pond often – gracefully soaring over the pastures and pond in search of a safe place to land among the Iris.  Watching them calculate a strategy to catch a meal, while appearing to stalk in slow motion – FASCINATING!  

Upwards of 40 Canada Geese goslings are hatched yearly on the grounds of HartSong.  It’s absolutely adorable to watch the little ones as they frantically paddle along behind their moms.  In addition and if you’re an early riser, you will most certainly feel blessed to observe the loving, yet stern, communications between Canada Goose parents (life- long mates) as they teach their young to fly - every morning at sunrise in the spring.   

Fire head of cattle (that have never known anything other than kindness), graze the pastures beyond the pond.  Yes, they all have names and yes, they are all as sweet as can be.  Their tranquility is contagious.  

The "one and only" ALP campsite is large enough to accommodate 9+ large tents.  Only one camping group occupies this campsite.

There is an old gold mine on the back side of the property as well as a 30' waterfall.

The canal (said to have been built by the Chinese workers during the Gold Rush) winds through the entire property.

HartSong Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a 30-acre facility, is a 100% volunteer, 501(c)(3) non- profit organization and home to 60+ rescue animals.
Some are blind - others have physical challenges - most are trauma survivors.
Our mission is to provide a landscape of quiet and tranquility for the animals that live within our gates – a sanctuary where they can enjoy nature, peace of mind and suffer no more.

Off the ranch adventures are also abundant in the Sierra Nevada foothills surrounding HartSong Ranch.  

*The Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park – a 14 mile drive from your campsite, features a museum, restored historic buildings and costumed volunteers.  Gold was discovered here at Sutter’s Mill in 1848, sparking the California Gold Rush.  

*The American River Confluence (North Fork and Middle Fork merge) – a 10 mile drive from your campsite.  The drive down the canyon to the American River is beautifully picturesque.  Over 100 miles of hiking trails, pristine swimming holes and white water opportunities are available for those of you in search of adrenaline laced activities.  

*Coloma, California – world famous for its white water rafting excursions – a 14 mile drive from your campsite.  

*Lotus, California - The Coloma-Lotus Valley is the major destination of the South Fork, shaped by the American River today as in 1848. Three riverfront parks provide opportunities for family picnics and wading, and Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park brings California’s history to life.  While in Lotus, please make a point to stop in at Sierra Rizing Bakery, Coffeehouse and Cafe – located in the beautiful Coloma & Lotus river valley just steps from the South Fork of the American River. They feature small-batch local artisan-roasted coffees, fresh bakery goods, breakfast and lunch fare, as well as specialty drinks, beer, and local wines.  They also offer a beautiful outdoor patio that is dog friendly.  Dogs are also welcome inside the cafe.

HartSong co-founders, Jim and Kathy Hart, are both former professional musicians so there’s nothing more delightful to our ears than to hear acoustic kumbaya moments around a campfire.  We do, however, most graciously request “quiet time” at the campsite after 10PM.

Rollins Lake Retreats with A/C!!!

We live lakeside at Rollins Lake In Colfax.

We live on over 30 private, beautiful acres with footpath access to Rollins Lake. (3 minute walk from the dome or house and 10-15 minutes from the cabin) where most summer days here are spent swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing ect., down at the water. 

The remarkable property is very hilly with pines and oaks. You can follow our driveway to the bottom and access the beginning of The Bear River which has a nice hiking trail alongside it or 8 minutes to the nearest boat ramp and 10 minutes to the town of Colfax where you will find gas, groceries, and restaurants.  

We have a beautiful spot where you will not see any neighbors so it is peaceful and private with gorgeous 360-degree views. It is also very safe! Bask in nature, quiet, and privacy!

We have 3 accommodations on the property  

-A GUEST SUITE  (lakeside), up to 5 people. 

-A CABIN (15 min walk or 3 min drive/5 min walk, up to 4 people.

-A GLAMPING DOME with an additional tent site (lakeside)! Up to 6 people. 

We have fishing boat, kayaks, and paddle boards for rent.
