Weekend Trip to Palala Ranch

We loved the spot, very open and expansive, nice and flat with nice views off in the distance at night. Remote spot, could need a four wheel drive vehicle to get a trailer to that site during the wet months. We visited early April.

Beautiful camp among the oaks and manzanita. Great hosts who communicated in a timely way with detailed answers. We truly enjoyed the natural, private, and secluded setting. We would highly recommend this camp.

1 night at In Town Camping

This is our second stay at Peaceful Pines in Nevada City. This Hipcamp RV site is quite convenient for us as well as quiet and peaceful. The site itself is flat, relatively private, and comfortable. The weather during our stay was quite windy and rainy, so we didn't spend any time outside, but we felt quite safe and comfortable. Yes, I highly recommend this Hipcamp.

The perfect site for what I needed. I wanted a calm and quiet place to camp. George was the perfect host. Great location, easy access and everything I needed to take some time to relax. His dog Sarah was also a constant companion. I will be returning. Thanks George!

Weekend Trip to Hirst Horse Ranch

We absolutely love coming to visit this delightful horse farm. The hosts are so friendly and welcoming. We come with our 3 kids and they just love the swings, the horses and the trampoline. We also got a horseback riding lesson and the host/instructor is just magical with both the kids and the horses.

Great campsite that was easy to get to and had lovely views of the foothills. My daughters loved seeing the animals.

2 nights at Camp Electra

Ryan has a pretty cool set up where you are walking distance from the town but feel secluded enough to enjoy the outdoors (you can hear a bit of traffic, but are surrounded by trees and can see the stars). The outdoor bathroom and shower is a great feature. Our old pup enjoyed hanging out with his border collies off leash. Our 25 ft rig was a bit oversized for the space but he helped us make it work!

We loved camping here the last 4 days. It was so peaceful and Mr. Fox is the best host friendly and respectful! You can really tell he enjoys hosting. The days and nights were filled with animal sounds from a nearby farm it was a pleasant relief to the constant traffic noise that we hear in the city. Lots of space to roam with the puppies and we loved the baked treats, yummy! We will be back!!

Weekend Trip to Sleepy Stag RV Spot

We stayed one night at this beautiful site. RJ is a nice man who introduced himself and even said goodbye as we were packing up to leave in the morning. His site is super clean and offers 50/30/15 electrical, water (new, sparking clean faucet) and sewer. Turns out our sewer hose was too short and I had mentioned that to RJ in the morning and he graciously tried to help us solve the problem. I believe we have a 10 foot hose. We ended up going to a dump station. We plan on buying an extension for next time. There’s a trash bin and a table and 2 chairs. The sun sets towards the back of the property and the view is incredible with rolling hills and a pond. It’s a remote area that’s very quiet and a Starbucks is about 10-12 minutes from the site. There is abundant hiking in the area and we plan on visiting again.

Weekend Trip to The Foxes Family Farm

The small hideout was a perfect place for the girls to have a quiet weekend for bonding, sharing and plenty of laughs. The fire was a perfect place for s’mores and “mountain pies”. The host was the sweetest man and was so helpful with anything we needed. The hot fresh homemade apple turnovers were to die for. A sweet place to relax and rejuvenate. Great recommendation for anyone looking to chill with the comfort of home

3 nights at Rescue Ranch

Cynthia is a super host. We let her know when we would arrive and she made it a point to come by and say hi. I had a couple of questions and she answered right away. The site was super clean, easy to get to and easy to park. The electrical hookup is 50 amp ONLY and if you need an adapter, a hardware store is only 10 min away. There’s potable water at the site as well as a picnic table. There isn’t a trash can at the site so we just packed ours out even though cans were offered.

The cabin was so charming and cozy. I really enjoyed my stay. My dog especially enjoyed the freedom of roaming the grounds.

Amazing! We stopped for one night on our road trip. It was absolutely perfect. Fox’s family farm was very easy to find as were the electric and water hook ups. It was so calm and peaceful. We enjoyed the sounds of horses, chickens and frogs in the evening. We loved the sourdough waffle breakfast and apple turnovers. We felt so welcomed! Can’t wait to visit again.

Great spot to get away from it all and experience a little bit of real farm life. The dogs had a wonderful time getting back to nature. Lovely artistic touches throughout the property. The hosts were delightful company and very helpful, they even trimmed the tree limbs for my tall RV to safely get through. All in all a delightful stay with lovely farm walks.

Quiet neighborhood and property. We enjoyed staying at Siobhan's place. She was very responsive and helpful. Feels private with the partial fence. She allowed us to let the dogs into the fully fenced in area. It was really helpful to have access to do laundry along with having the electric and water hook up. Would definitely stay again!

Welcome to Windsong Ridge, an LGBTQ-friendly evolving homestead on 25 acres of oak, pine, and manzanita woodland about 30 minutes outside of the historic gold rush towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City in Nevada County, CA. The property overlooks the iconic South Yuba River canyon and is 100% solar-powered and off grid with excellent cell coverage (Verizon and T-Mobile). Come be serenaded by the wind chimes throughout the property. Enjoy sitting by a fire (when it's not wildfire season) and you may hear the coyotes in the distance after a day of swimming, hiking, paddling, site-seeing or attending one of the many festivals held throughout the year in town. She is polite and good with children. Some of you may not like dogs, if that is the case this will not be a fun experience for you. Fresh produce possible depending upon season and availability. We operate ala carte with our accommodations so we can customize your experience to meet your needs. You can choose one or more of the following: GROUP CAMPGROUND: This one-acre fenced in area allows for guests (Max 30) to bring their dogs and pitch tents in a protected area with an expansive view.
