The place is very well kept and we enjoyed being away the peace of being away from the city for a bit. We loved the view at the top of the short hike and how clean everything was. This was a first time camping at the Hideout but definitely won’t be the last.

We loved staying at the village. It’s a peaceful and comfortable place to spend the weekend. Caitriona and Michele are kind and welcoming hosts, was inspiring to experience their beautiful space.

Fun area for weekend camping ! I definitely recommend renting the whole cove the sites are a little snug!

2 nights at Native Falls Campground

Amazing land, views, available fruits, outdoor kitchen, shower, and farm dog! Will absolutely be coming again. The farm dog, Gertie, took walks around the property every morning with me and my pups. She was very sweet to my five pound chihuahua who is weary of large dogs not her sister who is a 65 pound pittie. Everyone got along and I was so happy Gertie was gentle, kind, and patient with her introductions and mannerisms. If she likes you, she will come find you to say hello. She may have used me for treats but I couldn’t care less. Jacob, the host, was also amazing! We shared time together and had tea. My time here was a great escape when I needed to get away a bit and break up monotony.

This is a great and safe campground with all the amenities you could ask for, to have a great time. It was perfect for kids and so much to do for them and adults. The staff were so amazing! Each and every one of them was accommodating and very friendly. We will definitely return and try a different experience like a tiny home vs an RV. Wineries are close by; however grocery stores are not so come prepared.

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito

Literally had the BEST time! This is my third time booking on hipcamp and I think this was my favorite stay by far. Jacob and his dog Girtie made me feel right at home. He was super accommodating and I felt completely safe even though I was the only guest my first night there. Lots of stories were shared over freshly brewed oolong tea and sliced citrus straight from the garden. The space is truly incredible and I’d highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you for everything Jacob!

We had the best time this past weekend. Stayed one night with my two kids and it was a blast. Tent was cozy, clean and private. Girls had a blast picking fruit from the trees surrounding the tent. Cannot stop raving about the bathrooms!!! Best outdoor bathrooms I’ve ever seen. It was nice meeting Jacob and learning about the farm. It is so clear that he and his family love this place. We will absolutely be coming back. 10/10

Weekend Trip to Campo Nopalito

What a gem this place was! Me and my girlfriend came with our two dogs and it was absolutely perfect. The dogs were able to roam free the entire weekend and even got along with Gertie the farm dog. There was a big space to throw the ball around with them too, so they were pooper by EOD. As for the adults, it was super peaceful. We brought pizza dough from home, so that we could give the wood burning pizza oven a try (highly recommend). Jacob’s kitchen is very stocked, so in reality we would have been fine without any of the culinary-ware. Jacob was very accommodating, responsive, and an overall, very chill guy. We went home with a bag full of oranges, avocado, lemons, guava, and passion fruit. It’s really the best of both the camping and glamping world, and can’t wait to go back!

We stayed in Ken's Mountain Cabin with our pup and had an amazing time! Ken is a very responsive, welcoming, and helpful host. We had everything we needed - the space clean, bed was super cozy, and shower heat up quick. We already miss it!

We loved our two night stay at Campo Nopalito! The whole experience was excellent. Jacob was super kind and showed us around the space on arrival. The A-frame we stayed in was super charming and we had coffee on the deck each morning! Gerdie the farm dog was a sweetie and we felt so welcome and at peace the whole time. The pizza oven and whole outdoor kitchen were a dream and we had everything we needed to make a perfect dinner and relax by the fire. The attention to detail with all the spaces and amenities was clear and we appreciated it so much. We’re already planning our next trip back!

No words to describe this place! Jacob has turned this place into an unbelievable sanctuary with amazing energy. You can relax in the hammocks, enjoy the views of the green hills, visit some local wineries, make a pizza in his woodfired oven, sit by the campfire at your site, make friends, take an outdoor shower under the stars… I’ve stayed at a lot of Hipcamp ‘s, and this was by far my favorite. It truly is just a special place so do yourself a favor and go!

Great location with great views. The staff are direct but helpful. We were comfortable and I’ll probably try a larger cabin next time for my son and I.

Escape to nature without being too far from convenience of home! I usually go camping and sleep in tents so this stay was def glamping for me! Flushing toilets, hot showers, all that you need to cook hot dinner, plus a mattress to sleep on! Best of all, my dog was able to roam free and enjoy nature too! Jacob was super nice! Would def recommend!

STRONG WINDS The winds in the desert are very strong between February and June which may limit your enjoyment of the outdoor amenities. We do all we can to navigate around the winds but cannot control the impact it may have on your stay. POWER OUTAGES The power is cut off for 8-12 hours at least twice a year by the electrical company in order for maintenance to be done (for instance in preparation for the fire seasons). We inform our guests of outages as soon as we are made aware but cannot control the time or manner in which this may impact your stay. Welcome to Nopalito Farm! We’re so happy you’ve decided to spend some time on this beautiful property! In case you’re interested, here are a few interesting things about our farm. Nopalito Farm has been in operation since late 2014, but the property itself has been a working farm for over 50 years. Lemons and avocados were the primary crops from the 70’s through the 00’s, and are still prominent throughout our 15 acres. Our predecessors then diversified the growing operation by planting a wide range of fruit trees ranging from guavas and passion fruit to peaches and figs. For a decade, hops were grown on 2 acres and were sold to breweries throughout southern California. We’ve since replaced the hop yard with perennial flowers, but continue to cultivate a wide variety of delicious fruits.

Bailes Farm

One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). On my 60 acres, there are no major roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive and avocado groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base is nearby, so you might hear some artillery in the distance on some occasions. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim. The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.

Idyllwild Geodesic Dome Experience

Only a mile and a half away, Pine Cove boasts considerably more snow in the winter because of its almost thousand foot rise in elevation in that short distance. Our 16-foot geodesic dome was built on a secluded portion of the property. This is a studio with a queen bed and a sofa bed that folds out to a full size bed. This is perfect for a couple or small family looking for a luxury camping experience. We are a short 5-minute drive to downtown Idyllwild. There are hiking trails within walking distance from the property. Or choose to get away from it all with a peaceful visit to Moon Pine Cabin. Immerse yourself amongst the trees in this cozy cabin with multi-level views that can be enjoyed from the sweeping deck perched in the trees or the elevated yoga deck, off of the master bedroom. Bluebird Tiny House is tucked into a secluded forest meadow, named for the bluebirds that spend part of the year there and is a spacious feeling 320 sq ft. The Perch is on about 4 acres of peaceful land off Route 189 in Twin Peaks. We're about 90 minutes from LA, 10 minutes from Lake Arrowhead and Lake Gregory, 15 minutes Sky Forest and 40 minutes closer to LA than Big Bear. There is a barn and open field, 12 individual cabins and a forested area and as long as there is no event going on, our guests are free to roam the property. It's a simple, rustic, beautiful setting. You might hear coyotes and owls, bluejays. robins and bluebirds, and if you're really lucky, you may even spot a bear (hopefully not too close!)
