Cottonwood Camp

Open May through October.

This secluded, 2-acre campsite is the only place between the Royal Gorge and Lake Pueblo where you can fish and camp right on the banks of the Arkansas River. Accessible by watercraft only, you cannot drive to it or hike to it—you can only boat to it. There is no public road access to the camp.

YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN WATERCRAFT.

Access to the campsite requires your own boat. There are no direct roads for you take. 

You will be our only guests at this private riverfront location—no one else vying for the trout…no one’s boom box disturbing your sleep…no swimmers disturbing the fish.

Note: We’re open May through October, and during those months, we might have to close temporarily for safety reasons when river flow-rates exceed 1,300 cfs (cubic feet per second). If we need to close when you have a reservation and you can’t change your date, we will notify you of the closure and refund your money.

Welcome to Shamrock Ranch.  We are a small ranch with chickens, turkeys, goats, guinnies, dogs and cats.  Animals are accepted but must be on leash, because we have a lot of animals free ranging.  

 No Drugs or alcohol on property. 

Every guest is welcome to eggs while they are staying. 
Electric is available for a small fee.
There is plenty of room for Vehicle camping.  
The surrounding land is Desert like with cactus and dirt.

I bought this land to move from HoustonLearn more about this land:I widened the gate and moved my mailbox for easier access. Butane fire rings allowed on private property during a fire ban .  
Camp anywhere on 60 acres.  In one direction there are rolling meadow.  Another rocky outcropping.  Look to the south and you’ll see the BLM land that shares my fence line.  If you want access to town you’re there.  You choose how you want to feel.  In the woods, in the forest, on huge rocks, flat land or turn around and see CR 1 ( 1/4 mile driveway).  Forty five minutes west of Colorado Springs,  ten miles to Divide for grocers.  One half mile to ice, gas, pizza etc.  It is first come first serve with the sites.  Two that are near trees for large RVs.  One up higher works for pull thru trailers.  Plenty of room in the pasture.  I just got my first negative review referring to it being dry prairie land.  Some  pictures are from late last summer..  We haven’t had enough rain yet for it to green up.  Also it can be windy.

The 2024 season offers five glamping tents, split between Luxury Tents and Creekside Tents, all perfect for a romantic getaway. Some options also accommodate kids, dogs, or friends. Here’s what we offer:

⛺ Luxury Tents (premium camping, fully on-grid) – Experience nature with top-tier canvas tents featuring queen beds, plush bedding, and cozy seating. Two tents (Sunshine and Stargazer) include private hot tubs and bathrooms and are available year-round. Choose from two venues.

💧 Creekside Tents (safari canvas, some off-grid amenities) – Enjoy the rustic charm of our creekside safari tents with fitted queen beds, a sitting area, and an open-sky backroom featuring a spigot-fed bathtub and camping toilet. Fishing and wading in the creek are allowed just outside your front deck. Choose from three venues.

Looking for something with hard walls? We do offer hard-sided structures—such as container homes and cabins—available upon special request. Contact us directly if you're interested in these accommodations.
