Dillon lake camping means experiencing the best of this Colorado water sports haven.
Set between the towns of Dillon and Frisco, the Dillon Reservoir (Lake Dillon) is a popular destination year-round and a Dillon highlight. In summer, several US Forest Service camping options make lake access easy for boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing, or hiking the miles of shoreline. In winter, visitors can try snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, fat biking, snow-kiting, and ice fishing on the frozen lake, or head to the ski resorts in Breckenridge or Keystone. The White River National Forest offers five campgrounds around the lake, with tent sites and RV sites, including some with water and electric hookups. Additional public lakeside campsites can also be found at the Green Mountain Reservoir, home to six campgrounds along the reservoir's shores. For year-round camping, look for a lake RV campsite or a cabin rental with cozy amenities like fireplaces, hot tubs, and wifi.
