Weekend Trip to Boulder Chicken Ranch
We had a great time at the Journey tent and would come back! It was our first camping experience with a baby but it was still quite comfortable. The stove inside the tent made all the difference, and the bed was pretty comfortable. There were others camping around but although they were close, we couldn't hear them. We opted for coffee in the morning and picked eggs from the coop. There was no shade around, maybe on a different season the trees around do provide some, but not in April. Patrick was super kind and quick to reply. If you want to go on a trail you need to drive there. There are little farms around and it’s close to anything you would need so that’s convenient! Overall it was a pretty cool experience!

18 ft travel trailer
Patrick’s property is just outside of Boulder but close enough so you can get to town for dinner or shopping in no time at all. We enjoyed how pretty and quiet it was. We appreciated the mowed grass walkways and the little lights at night. The honey pot was also a plus as our trailer was having battery trouble during our visit. The best part are the chickens and their farm fresh eggs! Patrick was a fantastic communicator and made us feel very welcome. Thank you!

We loved everything about our stay at the chicken meadow! Patrick was very generous and helped with our every need. Finding our way in was slightly confusing, but was really my own fault. Just make sure you have a compass on your way in. Couldn't recommend this spot enough!!

I would definitely come here again! Cute little meadow with lights guiding pathways at night. Toilet on site. Plenty of room to park our RV, right by the lake. It was also nice that we could grab some fresh eggs for breakfast from the chicken coop!

This place, from what I could see in the dark was really nice! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to fulfill the entirety of my reservation because my pop up would not pop up for the life of me, despite a full battery and being plugged into electricity, provided on site. Additionally, my son started vomiting at the same time and the situation just kind of kept getting worse for me, so I decided to leave for a hotel. I am sure I am looked at as a poor guest in this situation, as packing up was louder than I should have let it been. The host was great and accommodating in the short bit I got to use them.

1 night at Boulder Chicken Ranch
Patrick was an awesome host! We stayed in the Journey Tent and he had wood waiting when we pulled up and also was super responsive! The wood stove kept us warm and the lit paths made walking at night very easy. I highly recommend staying at this site!

Great spot in Boulder! Super local to town so you don’t need to go too far out for a fun weekend camping. The fire pit is great and great space for dogs. The chickens are nice too, they don’t come too close to the campers and aren’t loud! I recommend!

Patrick was friendly, helpful and helped me with my car when I got into a bit of a pickle (got it stuck on the snow and ice). My stay was wonderful. The nights were so peaceful. The stars are so bright and pretty out here.

Very easy process. Everything was just as advertised. The electric heater got it cooking and I slept like a champ on the super soft bed. Woke up to a beautiful morning on the prairie with great views. Would highly recommend!

Open land with cooking amenities with both an outdoor kitchen as well as a sheltered cooking area. Showers available by reservation and small campfires allowed.
We visited in mid-December and were only one of three campers using the grounds. It is only a few minutes off the interstate and was easy to find.
