Beautiful Mountains & Manomay Acres

1 site · RV2 acres · Golden, CO
We are located at 8000 feet (altitude sickness is a concern up here for some) in Golden Gate Canyon. The Canyon is just above Golden and is a 20 minute ride down the mountain to town center. Our property sits on 2 fenced acres along a quiet road in a horse community. There is ample uncovered parking. Our neighborhood includes the Ralph Schnell entrance to Centennial Cone Park. Here there are miles of trails to hike, trail ride and mountain bike. The park is just over a mile from the property. We are 20 minutes to Golden, 40-50 minutes to Denver, just over an hour to Loveland Ski Area, an hour and 40 minutes to Breckenridge. Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Eldora are between 15 minutes to just over an hour. Climbing, fishing, paddling, white-water rafting, and all things snow are nearby. If you like to golf, you cannot do much better than the Fossil Trace city course in Golden. It is open year round provided no snow on the ground. From either of the decks of the house, you can spot many different kinds of wildlife (if you’re fortunate). We have everything in the area, Coyotes, Moose, Elk, Deer, Fox, Big Cats, Bear, etc. There are binoculars for daytime viewing and a telescope for an amazing night sky completely clean of light pollution. During certain times of the year, The Big Dipper hangs over the hill behind our back deck. The back deck has a gas grill, gas firepit, and seating. Cornhole is available for relaxing fun. The front deck is best for the sunrise with your coffee as it is the warmest. The driveway is asphalt, “relatively” flat and easy to level your RV. Water and Electric are included. If you are coming in the winter, you will need AWD if there is snow or any chance of snow during your stay. It is a very winding, curvy, single lane, ride. Cell service depends on your carrier. ATT we have 5g, Verizon next to nothing.

Neighborhood Campground

7 sites · RVs, Tents3 acres · Lafayette, CO
This suburban campground is conveniently located along US 287 close to Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, Erie, and Louisville. The neighborhood is a quiet and charming area with the feel of a much more rural area. Each campsite features a flat turf pad camp area to set up table, chairs, etc and plenty of room to pull in your car, van, or other camping vehicle. We offer an on site toilet (port-a-potty), standard 110v (20 amp) electrical plugs at each site. Please note that this is a standard home outlet meant for things like charge phones. If your rig pulls more than 20 amps you are likely to trip the breaker, which is not accessible for reset by guests. There is access to fresh, potable water on the property, but not at each site, so plan to fill your tanks at the spigot with a hose. Wi-Fi is available at the campground. Nearby Erie and Lafayette are within biking distance. This campground is located in a residential neighborhood and we ask that campers are respectful of noise levels. No fires permitted. There is a barn located on the property within the campsite. The campsite is located behind a residential home, but separated by a 6 foot privacy fence. WE DO NOT LIVE IN THE HOUSE, PLEASE DO NOT RING THE DOORBELL OR CONTACT THE TENANTS IN THIS HOME! All requests should be made through the Hipcamp app for the quickest response.

Rocky Mountain RV Retreat

1 site · RV1 acre · Ward, CO
Experience the elevated lifestyle at our charming campsite! Nestled in the back of our property, accessible via a horseshoe-shaped driveway, this dedicated camping spot awaits you. Please note that a 4WD/high clearance vehicle is essential for winter access. We have a nice long pull-in with full hookups on our one-acre property. It is fully fenced and we are happy to accept pets. We are in a rural neighborhood setting and my husband and I do live on the property in the small green house you can see in the photos. There are houses around; it's not a secluded wilderness spot. We've been RVing for seven years (two of them full-time) and hiking and camping for many more. We're happy to provide local recommendations or to help you out with your rig if you're new. Our home is conveniently located approximately 35 minutes from downtown Boulder or Nederland, 45 minutes from Eldora for skiing enthusiasts, 25 minutes from the Longs Peak Trailhead, and 45 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park.

RV camping as well as barns near Morrison with electricity hookup and water hookup guide

Overview

Massive red rock ridges form quite a contrast to the evergreen trees and snowy peaks that surround Morrison. See these up close with a visit to Red Rocks Amphitheatre, one of Morrison’s biggest attractions. The hiking trails are another attraction, as the foothills of the Rocky Mountains are easily accessible. Public camping options can be found at Bear Creek Lake Park Campground, a city park in nearby Lakewood. Near Golden, city park camping is offered at Clear Creek RV Park and Chief Hosa Campground. A bit further away, Chatfield State Park and Golden Gate Canyon State Park are public campgrounds offering some full hookup sites for both tents and RVs.

Where to go

Rocky Mountain National Park

The jewels of Rocky Mountain National Park are within easy reach from Morrison. Estes Park is a popular base camp on the eastern edge of the park, and Grand Lake is the primary western entrance. Both towns offer a mix of private and public campgrounds, with sites for tent and RV camping. Inside the park, National Park Service campgrounds are notable for their expansive views.

Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests

To venture off-grid, head off the beaten path into the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Over 1.5 million acres of adventure await, located primarily north of I-70 west of Morrison. Dispersed camping can be found nestled in the woodlands and peaks, and over 50 maintained campgrounds are available. Though these primarily offer rustic tent sites, some RV campsites and electric hookups can be found at select campgrounds.

Pike-San Isabel National Forests

The Pike-San Isabel National Forests cover three million acres of lands, primarily south of I-70 west of Morrison. Almost half of Colorado’s fourteeners are found here, reaching towering heights along the horizon. Dispersed camping, as well as over 80 maintained campgrounds offering RV and tent sites can be found in this expansive forest. Venture into the ski towns to find amenities and more developed RV parks.

When to go

The Colorado Rockies are a year-round destination, though camping is most popular in the summer. Pleasant temperatures can be found even in deep summer, especially at higher elevations. Nights are generally cooler. Spring and fall offer their own delights, though the weather can vary, with occasional chilly temperatures and the potential for snowfall. Winter is not as popular for camping, though it brings a whole host of recreational opportunities. Some year-round campgrounds cater to those able to handle the freezing temperatures and plentiful snows.
