A small but unique piece of land that was given to a family in the 1920s by the Florida Railroad Company. It stayed in the family until we purchased it. It is unique because the surrounding area does not have much tree coverage. This is
due to the ground underneath, which is a vein of grey marl. This is why the area is called the Allapattah (an Indian word for Alligator) Flats.
We are hoping that our county stays the way it is so people will know what Old Florida really looks like.
Minutes from I-95, but surrounded by the Allapattah Flats Wildlife Management Preserve. Located on Martin Hwy, which was recently designated as a Florida Scenic Hwy. Fifteen minutes to Stuart and thirty minutes to West Palm Beach, a world away from the hustle and bustle.
We realize that people also love Florida for Disney and tropical paradises but if that is what you want than this may not be your kind of place.

We have a several gardens which we keep growing and changing. A vast array of Bromeliads gardens, Tropical Plant gardens, Our newest addition is a expansive Butterfly Garden as well as our Palm/Hibiscus garden which encircles the fire pit. While we do not have steps for direct River access, our Jensen Beach Causeway is a mere 5 min ride to Launch Ramps. We have 2 Kayaks available for a small rental fee of $10.00 per kayak/Day so you can explore our area by land and water. This is a little slice of Old Florida Paradise.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park
One of the most dynamic parks near West Palm Beach is Jonathan Dickinson State Park, home to an extensive network of hiking trails through 16 natural communities and nine miles of dedicated mountain biking trails. You can also paddle on the Loxahatchee River. The park’s two campgrounds have tent sites and RV sites with full hookups, picnic tables, grills, and restrooms.
Lake Okeechobee
Just west of West Palm Beach, the enormous Lake Okeechobee has excellent bass fishing. The 109-mile Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail circles the lake and makes for a scenic hiking and biking route.
When to go
West Palm Beach’s busy camping season is winter, when its mild tropical weather gives visitors a warm reprieve from freezing temperatures in the Northeast. Fall and spring are both pleasant as well, but beware of spring break crowds. Summers in South Florida are hot and humid with heavy rain, making tent camping a struggle. Summer and fall are also hurricane season here, when monitoring weather and storm forecasts is a necessity.
