We had an awesome time! Danny worked super hard on the trails & camping spots. It was quiet, beautiful, & very well maintained. 10/10 would recommend & we’ll 100% be back!

We had a great stay at Dark Hollow! We parked at the bobcat site, the view was absolutely stunning.

Great spot with nice amenities and a wonderful view. Owner was extremely kind and helpful. The road is nearby, but seldom travelled so not an issue to me. Next time I would like to explore more of the trail which looked very nice.

Absolutely loved this place. Enjoyed the views, the area, and the helpful and friendly host. We had to leave a day early because of extreme weather coming in, but we wished that was not the case. Hope to get back sooner than later.

Beautiful spot and affordable, not far from the interstate.

This is a lovely spot with a very short hike to a creek with a beautiful little waterfall, lots of stargazing, and a wonderful heated, outdoor shower. Danny, Zed, and Deogee are delightful hosts.

Warm and friendly host, beautiful, quiet camping spot overlooking a green valley. Not crowded.

This was such a great spot! Absolutely amazing views of the mountains and pastures from the sites and you can hear the wolves, lions and tigers at the Tigers for Tomorrow preserve less than 5 miles away! The hosts were more than great and the creek and waterfalls are just an awesome sounds to sleep to! We will be back for sure!! BINGO!! 😁🥰

2 nights at Dark Hollow

Dark Hollow was really nice. The camp site had a great view and was spacious. The host was very helpful too. There is multiple things to do around the area.

We loved the campsite! Beautiful views and very well kept. Our dogs were able to enjoy some time off leash as well. Camp host was friendly and accommodating. The GPS position from Hipcamp is spot on, and the gate was easy to find. Some campsites are immediately close to the main entrance, while a few others are at a higher elevation spot with more area for off-leash dogs to run around (where we ultimately stayed). We had a 4WD SUV able to make it up the unpaved road to the higher campsites with no issues, but smaller vehicles would likely need to stay parked in the lower parking area then carry up any camping gear. We paid the extra fee for firewood which was well worth it. The firewood is kept under a covered shelter to help keep it dry. They also have a wheelbarrow there to help haul firewood to your campsite. We stayed for one night, so the amount of wood we paid for was beyond plenty for our needs. The on-site outhouse was very well-maintained and well stocked with Toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Water Slickers were conveniently located and easy to use. The camp host mentioned more renovation was ongoing with putting in septic and other amenities. There is a lot of love and energy being put into Dark Hollow. Highly recommend!

We had the best time camping at Dark Hollow! The site was very peaceful and provided the perfect getaway! One of the highlights was the hiking trails that take you right to a beautiful waterfall. Zed and Strider were super helpful getting us all settled in for a great weekend. Highly recommend this site if you are looking to get away!!

We loved tent camping at Dark Hollow! There is a fun little trail to hike on and the bathrooms were the best campsite ones I’ve seen in a while. We didn’t use the shower, but that is awesome that they have one. It is a little close to a bigger road for those of you with wandering dogs, keep an eye on that. We had no issues and everyone there was very nice!

Dark Hollow is a beautiful location in the low mountains of Alabama. Rustic spot to view the stars!

6 nights at Dark Hollow

Dark Hollow provided a serene escape, with phenomenal views, while also being quite easily accessible to adjoining highways and towns. upon arrival, we were immediately met by the host, who provided a detailed overview and layout of the grounds, as well as let us choose our preferred campsite location. the trails were windy, but a great adventure and well worth the trek. while staying, you wouldn’t have known there was anyone in near vicinity, but if/when there was any inquiry or “need”, the host was rapid to respond and provide above and beyond. you can see and experience a well kept and nurtured piece of natural escape at Dark Hollow.

Dark Hollow was awesome! 10/10 would recommend and also would definitely go back! Amazing views to wake up to in the morning.

Quiet and clean. Convenient to the interstate for someone just moving through the area. Danny and the host were great. The dark skies we really loved with no light pollution.
