Zen Oazis in Sacred Valley

5 sites · RVs, Tents3 acres · Hauula, HI
Get ready to immerse at a securely gated, large beautiful farm space with towering mountains and stay active- theres a lot of walking around! Ditch light polluted Honolulu and truly disconnect at an affordable price and get off the beaten path and learn and participate in farming activities. Hear crashing waves and see hundreds of stars at night. Retreaters will have access to very basic amenities- clean cold hose showers and flush toilets. Interact with locals and other retreaters at our securely gated farm. Truly surround yourself in nature and get ready to be thrown into a tropical jungle atmosphere! As part of your visit to Kaluanui (the sacred land you'll be staying on),  we will be doing a traditional Hawaiian greeting and short tour of the property. We then will spend a short time doing a malama aina (caring for the land) based project. Because this is sacred ground and all visitors must participate in our Agricultural education program, you will be REQUIRED to attend once. If this is an issue with your booking please notify us.  We will hold these mon/tue/wed/thur at 3:30pm under the white tent in the pavilion area. When you are getting closer to your arrival date please consider the above stated meeting times and notify us which time will work for you. Please plan to attend at your earliest convenience. If you have more questions you can text our program coordinator at 8084294988. This is required for all retreaters who come to the property as we will be giving a tour of the property and going over all the rules of your stay. Its also a fun opportunity for you and the family to meet some friendly locals. Recommended to bring: flashlight mosquito repellent shoes camera! Your stay includes: a 7 minute nature walk to community bathrooms and cold hose showers, a safe peaceful space in the community with nearby fruiting trees and bushes, and access to a semi private sandy beach, (perfect for sunset), a 15 minute stroll away. There are martial arts classes occurring on the property mon-fri until about 9-930 pm, so if you see some lights and people as you enter do not worry. There are sometimes events on the weekends on property so I will notify if that is the case. As there will likely not be someone physically there, we have made detailed self check in instructions on a Google Doc ! Please read our instructions carefully and please reach out to the host if you have any questions. A hidden gem for anyone looking for a safe, basic facility secluded place to retreat on the most tropical side of Oahu! Check in time will be after 4 pm, and a link will be provided for arrival instructions and gate code. We have fixed arrival procedures and have clearly labeled signage to ensure you find your campsite! There will not usually be someone physically present to check you in so we have made Google Doc instructions for arrival and finding the bathrooms.

North Shore Bungalow

1 site · Lodging1 acre · Waialua, HI
Indulge in a glamorous camping experience on the north shore of Oahu in your private bungalow. Enjoy the convenience of a kitchenette situated in a covered lanai (patio), complemented by a detached bathroom. Whale watch directly from the comfort of your bed and stargaze at night, reveling in the tranquility of the surroundings. Immerse yourself in a plethora of outdoor activities such as great hikes, pristine beaches, surfing, swimming, fishing, rock climbing, and even horseback riding—all within close proximity. Nestled in the countryside of North Shore, our location is far removed from the city lights, providing a perfect escape. Ever witnessed a moonbow? Now's your chance. Experience this enchanting phenomenon at our unique North Shore property. The bungalow is at a discounted rate during the winter due to swells. Keep in mind North Shore of Oahu is known for large waves in the winter. If there happens to be big surf, it can sometimes cause loud splashing during high tide and if high tide is at night, some light sleepers might not enjoy it. We do provide ear plugs if there are large swells. Our best season is in the summer when the ocean is calm and weather is sunny and dry.
