The farm is one settled by the early pioneers who stopped going west in the early 1800s after they crossed the Eel river in what was then Owen County, Indiana.  Later, it became part of Clay County with the addition of Cass Township.  This working farm is comprised of 200 acres of rolling pastures and woodlands in the heart of Hoosier Hospitality - Indiana. Learn more about this land:Tent, car, and RV camping with a place for your horse too!You get your choice of where to hookup or pitch your tent and also enjoy all of the nearby attractions. There are state parks with swimming, and the Exotic Feline Rescue Center which is a little like going on a Safari!Nearby attractions include the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival and the Croy's Creek Traders Fair.  We are within a mile of the Eel River and Cataract Lake is also very close for boating and fishing.  Other attractions include the Owen/Putnam State Forest and McCormicks Creek State Park.  An abundance of wildlife can also be seen at the campsite.

Nighthawk Forest Campground

4 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents10 acres · Paoli, IN
Help Keep Nighthawk Forest Safe & Fun For All! Speed Limit: Our posted speed limit is 7.5mph. Please take your time, and watch out for animals and other camp guests. RV Site Parking: Please avoid parking on the grass. We allow one vehicle per site. Please park your camper leaving enough room to park your vehicle in the site and on the gravel. Tent Parking: If your tent site does not have a gravel pad, please park in the grassy infield directly across from your site. Visitors: Visitors are welcome, but for everyone's safety we ask that they check in at the office to provide name, vehicle info, and phone number. Dogs: We love our furry guests, but please keep them on a leash when walking around the camp, and clean up after them by visiting the doggie waste stations located throughout the camp. And don't leave them outside alone -- they get lonely! Firewood and Fires: We all love the warmth, smell and glow of a beautiful campfire, but we ask that you refrain from bringing wood from outside the campground. Foreign and improperly dired wood carries disease and insects that may do tremendous harm to our beautiful trees. We also provide guests with fire pans so we ask that no fires be built on the ground. Garbage: Please do your part to dissuade the natives (raccoons, coyotes, etc) from foraging on your leftovers! Bring all bagged garbage to the green dumpster near the entrance of the campground. We also provide gray garbage cans throughout the property for smaller trash items. Recycling: We are committed to doing our part to help heal the planet and ask you to bring your co-mingled recycling waste to the blue dumpster near the entrance of the campground. There are also blue recycling cans throughout the park. Cardboard, plastics recycling symbols with 1-5 and 7 markers and glass are accepted! Please ensure that your recycling does not contain any food waste and break down cardboard boxes. Smokers: Smoking is allowed on the campground, but we just ask that you respect other guests and dispose of cigarette butts in a proper manner. We also ask that you refrain from throwing cigarette butts into the fire pans. Quiet Time: Our quiet hours are from 10pm-8am. Please use a flashlight or headlamp after dark, so we can all enjoy the stars! Mats: To save our grass, please don't leave mats out on the grass. Please roll them up after use. Checkout: We know it's hard to leave camp, but checkout time is 12pm for all reservations. If you need a little extra time, you may request a late checkout by calling or texting the office.
