Weekend Trip to River Camp Fort Wayne

We had such a great time camping and using their little cabin that has just about everything you would need to camp! Not only has a queen bed but also a twin bed for your kid's our two boys fit in it( 6 and 9 years old). My personal favorite is they think of all the stuff for your family to be comfortable! Their property is beautiful and my kids love playing in the river!!

Weekend Trip to River Camp Fort Wayne

The cabin is amazing. They have added a driveway to the cabin with a parking spot next to it. It is spacious, with a wood burning stove, electric, and water. There is a tv, dvd player, queen bed, twin bed, and a futon couch. The best part is the hosts are amazing.

2 nights at Little Turkey Ranch

The lake is mostly frozen and there is a blanket of snow on the ground, absorbing all sound save for the calls of the migrating birds. I was able to pick up a big stack of firewood from a nearby local and make a roaring campfire. Cooked one night and then went over to Turkey Lake Tavern on the second night - nice local scene with really great seafood. This place is great remedy for going stir crazy from staying indoors during all winter.

Such a cute A-frame with the best view next to a lake and perfectly quiet atmosphere. Spent a long weekend here and loved the days spent exploring the area and nights sitting around the fire. Would highly recommend coming here for a visit. The host and property were amazing!

took my teardrop on a winter adventure to little turkey lake just after thanksgiving and did not regret it one bit. fire, snow, and chickens - pretty cool combo.

We truly enjoyed our stay and found Aaron to be a wonderful host. He helped with an issue we had with our camper … and provided fresh eggs in the morning. It’s a beautiful area for walking and our dog was in heaven.

Each site is in a wooded, shaded area with a flat area on the ground to place a single large tent. Each site has its own fire ring and a small wooden table. There is wood on the ground you may use for firewood, and ample twigs etc on the ground for kindling (do not cut any trees or branches off trees). There is a covered firewood shed with dry firewood as well. There are maintained trails with river access for kayaks. There is a porta potty near the campsites with a handwashing station, that is open year round. There is a single bathroom with flush toilet and sink with running water that is a short walk away (open May-Oct depending on weather) There is an outdoor on-demand hot-water shower at bathroom, with a water hose available as well. On-demand hot water heaters provide hotter water at a low water pressure, and cooler water at full blast. Campsites are a short walk (100-200 feet) away from parking area (you cannot drive directly to or park at your campsite). Foster Park is a short bike ride away where you will find greenway trails that run throughout Fort Wayne (ride your bike to downtown!!) Our property backs up to the St Mary's River, bring you kayaks and fishing poles! (We reserve the right to assign you to a different (but equally beautiful) campsite in the case of property maintennance concerns, recent rain or weather conditions etc). Blue Water Lake was previously Baltes Stone Quarry with one side being 18 feet and the other side 30 feet deep. Lime stone edged with a straight down drop off in most places. Less than a mile from Montpelier, a golf cart community. Beach area available for swimming access. No lifeguards on duty, swim at your own risk. Primitive camping available. Out house available.

You talk about social distancing Mirror Lake is the place for you. All of the Mirror Lake properties are private. There is 175 acres here at mirror lake and the lake is approximately 12 acres. With Amish farms and families all around. The Mirror Lake Bunkhouse has all amenities. You are welcome to cook over an open fire, use the grill or the small kitchen accessories provided. don’t forget the option is always available to go out to dinner with a restaurant only 4 miles away. Although we are located in the middle of the country. You can wake up to beautiful sunrises or take in breath taking sunset in the evening. The lake is a private lake owned by three property owners. Our Cabin # 2 “Old Phil” Is located on the west side of the lake in a 15 acre woods. About 1-1/2 miles away is Our cabin # 1 “Little Elk” Is located near the little Elkhart River. Nestled in its own 10 acre woods. Both of these properties are primitive ( no running water in an out house for a bathroom). Firewood is provided and there are trails in the woods to walk. The Mirror lake property has been a family farm for over 185 years. There is a family cemetery that dates to 1832. If you want to be around a lot of people in the fast track this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, tranquil, social distance but still enjoyed this is the place for you!
