3 nights at Sleek Acres

Delightful. I would recommend it again. The hosts were quite welcoming and the camper was as cozy as it's name. It is right by Hwy 30, so if you are sensitive to noise, or seeking idyllic country silence, be warned that the sound of big reefers rolling down the highway will reach you at all hours, even though your privacy is well-shielded by trees.

This is a beautiful piece of property. Earl & Lisa laid it all out very well. The sites are just close enough to the toilet and shower house. The hand/dishwashing station has hot and cold water. It was also easy to access the water station to put water in our container to add to our travel trailer. Subtle solar lighting is a great touch to keep you out of the pond at night and also makes the area look magical at night. Plenty of wildlife to delight the senses, too. We lacked nothing on our first solar-powered camping adventure thanks to the hospitality of our wonderful hosts. We even had a cozy fire ring to enjoy as the deer and The Pink Moon came out. Easy access... CLEAN... SAFE... Relaxing... If you have the chance, you should stay here!

Weekend Trip to 2Chicks And A Farm

This was a perfect overnight trip and can't wait to come back! The tent, camp beds, and chairs were super comfortable. But Julie really creates something special with her extra touches. We added on the extras- dinner and breakfast. I enjoy cooking over a fire but a three course meal? Delicious!! Dessert was perfect with hot little fruit pies with ice cream! The animals were fun. We made bestie with a little calico kitty who spent the evening and morning with us. I got to visit the baby goats, and the chickens made the rounds chaperoned by their rooster. And when our car battery was dead, we even got a jump. Full service. Everyone we met was friendlyand welcoming. Yay!

We loved camping here! Julie was a perfect host — made sure we had what we needed without hovering. The farm was beautiful and the cats were so friendly! Definitely make sure to order breakfast, it was incredible!

Very lovely and lush farm run by a sweet gal and all her neighborhood friends. If you’re looking for fancy glamping, it’s not that. But it’s nice to not have to set up the tent, and Julie provides fire starters, chairs, a table, cots and welcome goodies. There’s lots of add ons possible, beautiful grounds to walk in and a million cats to keep you company. We will certainly return when it’s a bit warmer. If you’re hoping for hours of sleep in, be aware there is a loud rooster every morning!

We loved our stay at the farm! Julie was a great host and showed us all of the animals and even gave us a welcome basket with smores and fire materials. The cats are very cuddly and love attention so be prepared for a lot of pets. Highly recommend choosing the breakfast option as it was so delicious

We loved the farm camp experience. My son had a great time. All the animals were so fun! The camp sites were spaced out nicely. Port-a-potty was clean. We ordered a charcuterie board which was perfect on the night we came in. The yurt was tight with 4 people and the pellet stove but we made it work. 3 adults and a 10 yrs old. My son enjoyed the farm tour and the ATV rides. We were pretty cold overnight in our yurt when it got down to 30 degrees but still had a great time.

We stopped here on short notice with a Class C RV and were welcomed with open arms. Julie is a friendly and accommodating host. If we are ever in the area in the future, we would love to stay here again. It is on a road but it's quiet enough to be super peaceful. I loved meeting all the animals and incredibly friendly cats. Would absolutely recommend.

Very cute place! Julie was very kind! Met her when I arrived and she gave me a short tour of the farm, then got a welcome basket! I would definitely recommend staying here! I also added on salsa and it was very delicious!

2Chicks And A Farm

7 camp sites, 1 RV site, 2 Yurts, a Bohemian camp site, and new this year two walk-in sites (we can take your gear with the UTV). One with Tippee's and the other with Hammocks. For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres. 15 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then another in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

Sleek Acres

Sleek Acres is a total of 13 acres, which includes our homestead, our chicken yard and barn, a fishing pond, and over 8 secluded acres to the back of the property where guests can explore (including walking trails). There are hungry catfish and bass in the pond who are always happy to be fed (we provide the fish food). Fishing is allowed, but catch and release only (under 12"), please! A small group of ducks live on the pond and will happily greet you as you walk to the beach. Relax at the beach in the morning as you enjoy your coffee and watch the fish, ducks, and turtles swim in the pond. Fire rings and picnic tables are provided at each site. A small amount of firewood is provided, and additional firewood is available for purchase. We have two charcoal grills available for your use. We provide a bathhouse, which includes a toilet and shower. A handwash/dishwashing station is located right outside the bathhouse. Our chickens are happy to take any food leftovers you don't want! You can walk right up to the fence and they will greet you. You may also see deer, fox, groundhogs, and many beautiful birds in the camping area. Located central to many destinations, we are 5 minutes from All-Sports Koontz Lake; 10 minutes from Plymouth, plenty of shopping and home of the Blueberry Festival (Labor Day weekend); 10 minutes from Walkerton, home of the Falloween Fest (Sept. 26, 27, 28); 25 minutes from Valparaiso; and 50 minutes from Notre Dame. With Amish farms and families all around. The Mirror Lake Bunkhouse has all amenities. You are welcome to cook over an open fire, use the grill or the small kitchen accessories provided. don’t forget the option is always available to go out to dinner with a restaurant only 4 miles away. Although we are located in the middle of the country. You can wake up to beautiful sunrises or take in breath taking sunset in the evening. The lake is a private lake owned by three property owners. Our Cabin # 2 “Old Phil” Is located on the west side of the lake in a 15 acre woods. About 1-1/2 miles away is Our cabin # 1 “Little Elk” Is located near the little Elkhart River. Nestled in its own 10 acre woods. Both of these properties are primitive ( no running water in an out house for a bathroom). Firewood is provided and there are trails in the woods to walk. The Mirror lake property has been a family farm for over 185 years. There is a family cemetery that dates to 1832. If you want to be around a lot of people in the fast track this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, tranquil, social distance but still enjoyed this is the place for you!
