Once an old property of the railroad, then old dairy farm, now the property of a retired Army combat veteran: Equine Estates Rustic Ranch has over 80 acres of land and hosts the beauty of the Flint Hills of Kansas, seclusion of the great outdoors, and yet the location to all the amenities of the city just minutes away. Located just minutes from interstate 70, our home is easily accessible for the travelers both near and far. Our property can accommodate trailers with water and electric, tents, or even stay in one of our Glamping Bell tents or Rent a Tents.

Eagle Ridge Ranch

Just minutes off of I-70 Eagle Ridge Ranch is.a working regenerative agriculture ranch with multiple species of livestock living within rolling pastures vast crop fields multiple tree lined creeks. Self service farm stand with meat and eggs raised on the farm.
  Opportunities to view a working regenerative ranch or just get away in solitude.

Hughes Holler

The Hughes Holler camp site is located in the mix grassed prairie of central Kansas.  The site was once a homestead of some of the early pioneers of the area.  While none of the remnants of the former farmstead remain.  The the tranquility of sitting at a campfire on the banks of the pond can let ones mind wonder about what life would have been like living there in days gone by.

The site includes a spring fed pond with abundant fishing, predominately white bass.  Guests are allowed to keep any fish they wish to eat on site.  But please release any others back into the pond.  There is a wooded area which provides nice shade for an area to relax from the Kansas summer sun and wind.  Campers can also enjoy a camp fire either pond side of underneath the trees.  

Sleeping accommodations are  in a deluxe water proof tent.  There are 2 queen air mattress which will comfortably sleep 4 people.

There is also a composting toilet on site. 
Glamping Hosts provide some  hot drink mixes, a coffe perculator, pot for boiling water, or making soup, a cooking grate for the fire, some hygiene products.  We are working on a solar shower!

We are located 2 miles from the Kanopolis Lake wildlife and recreation area.  Which includes numerous hiking trails at Horse Thief canyon.  As well as 7 miles from historic Marquette with its unique downtown shops and activities: distillery, motorcycle museum, soda fountain shop/homemade ice cream, disc golf course, grocery store and liquor store.  Also, located just 15 miles from Little Swedon, Lindsborg, KS. Great shopping and museums, art galleries for you enjoyment!

Out Behind the Barn: Hipcamping with Dolly the Goat and the sheep flock.  That would be Polly, Desert Paint ewe, giving you a Hello. 

Our Little Grove

Our delightfully funny 5 acre farmstead was built by Swedish Pioneers in 1876 and we pioneered our Hipcamp on 18 June 2023.  We have a variety of spaces for vehicles, tents and small campers midst leaning trees and funky old farm buildings. Rustically quaint and uniquely primitive, we are. Friendly dogs, two sheep, one goat and shy cats. Rain sheltering in The White House. Well water via hydrant and drinkable water available. Access to electricity if you have extension cord. Lots of campfire wood to use and take. The Milky Way on a clear night.

— SMACK IN THE BELLY BUTTON of the U.S.A. and only 30 minutes from the intersection of INTERSTATE 70 (goes east-west) and INTERSTATE 135 (goes north-south)

— VERY SAFE and especially comfortable for those traveling alone

-    Most campsites are in one acre paddocks surrounded by 5 foot fencing so humans and pets can RUN WILD AND FREE

—  We tend to be kind and caring and are EAGER-TO-PLEASE country folk and  creature Hosts who do best with close communication about arrival

-   MEADOWLARK BIKE AND WALK TRAIL within walking distance from your campsite and only three miles into Swedish Proud LINDSBORG with funny and fun events, lotsa art, shops, strong Swedish coffee and DINOSAUR SIZED DALA HORSE

OUR LITTLE GROVE DESCRIPTION

We are a safe spot to take refuge for a night… a week… a month. We are in the belly button of continental USA. Dolly Goat believes we are “Delphi”, the Center of the Universe.  We have been popular with solo travelers and campers traveling across the country - the San Diego to New York and Alabama to Wyoming types.

 Of course, we are a reprieve to anyone needing a break from the outer world.  

You just text an hour or so ahead and HONK THREE TIMES for entry. We will open the rusty old gate and show you to your option of areas to stay.  

WE ARE ART AND KINDNESS IN PROGRESS. 

We are eager to be nicely organized, but are discombobulated rookies so a sense of humor and flexible joy for creative chaos will help give you a funny little farm experience.  (More apt, Funny Farm Experience).

GREAT THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU ARE HERE

Proud-to-be Swedish LINDSBORG, three miles from us, is adorned with wooden Dala Horses, shops, art and galleries. Population is only 3,200, but we have a great grocery store with a Swedish aisle, pharmacy, National Geographic Photographer, a Full Service Gas Station and a CASTLE up the road. MEADOWLARK TRAIL is a nicely groomed biking and walking trail and is just across the field - you can walk to it from your campsite.

LOTSA COMMUNIQUE

We like/need more texts or messages than the average bear (as some say). We need to make sure we are around to open the gate and help setup for an especially pleasant stay. You will receive an automated message that gives basics about 48 hours before arrival.  Other texts include EMERGENCY INFO, THINGS TO DO, such as the 360 view of Kansas from our local castle, Coronado Heights or the Swedish aisle of White’s Grocery Line.

Our Home was built in 1876 by Swedish Pioneers. It was originally white brick. Do tell us the history of her eyebrows.
