Weekend Trip to Clayton Geneva Memorial Camp Ground

We arrived in Friday not knowing what to expect but was surprised when we seen the land and the room! We stayed on site 2 had plenty of room to turn around with a 38ft camper and park our truck sideways at the end. The restrooms are close by but please watch your step of a morning they are slick.

The birdsong cabin is adorable, comfortable, and clean with many small amenities that made staying there a pleasant experience. This is a glamping cabin with the bathroom just out back with a shower, sink, and toilet that was kept clean. The cabin was surprisingly private as we sat on the porch, which has 4 chairs, and watched the birds at the feeder and peeked at the river through the trees. There is a fire ring and picnic table and they supplied the first bundle of fire wood. The bed comes with linen and was comfortable. The cabin has AC and a heater. There was a microwave, coffee, coffee cups, a couple plates, paper towels, sling chairs, S&P, and some other extras. We watched Netflix at night on the smart TV and we had WIFI. I use Verizon and had a couple bars of reception. Host Amber was extremely friendly and helpful with quick responses to our questions. Things I would recommend bringing: paper plates, utensils, a water jug (there's a water spicket just outside), some dish soap and towel. We would readily stay here again!

2 nights at Camp Escape

This is a great spot outside of the city! I stayed here two nights with my two cats and we felt safe and comfortable. There is a train that goes by and is pretty loud in the night and during the day. It didn't bother me much but just something to know. I am so happy I found this spot and if I go through KY again, I will be staying here again! Porta potty was super clean and close by. Other than the train, this spot is quiet and so peaceful with the sound and sight of beautiful birds. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking to camp near Louisville!

Josh was amazing! We were late getting there and Josh came out in the pouring rain to let us know how and where to go on his wonderful property! We'll be back!

1 night at Punkin Hollow Resort

I had a great time visiting on a solo trip with my dog! Everything was clean and enjoyable, and the creeks are pretty to walk along. If you're visiting in March/April, make sure to look at upcoming weather for potential storms. We got caught in an overnight thunderstorm, which made the creek water rise and was not passable for my low car (Ford Fusion Hybrid). We ended up having to stay an extra night, but it all worked out well! The host was understanding, a fellow camper shared their food, and Jon was responsive and super helpful! We would definitely visit again.

Shelby’s space was really nice, not too far from the city, and conveniently close to Jefferson memorial. The sites are a little closer together than I thought, but they were not all full so we still had plenty of privacy. The creek behind the campsite was perfect for our dogs. I was under the impression that there were trails to explore from the campsite, there were not. Scott’s gap loop was a great trail about a mile drive away that we did the following morning. They had firewood on site for $8 a bucket! The property itself was gorgeous, amazing sunset. It was a little noisy with the train and neighbors, but not too bad. It was super nice to only drive 30 minutes to an awesome campsite.

Loved this campground!! Small enough that I felt comfortable and big enough that there were nice bathrooms! Cute goats, horses, and chickens, but Kristin was the best feature! Very friendly and thoughtful. I definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Handyland

We had such a relaxing stay at Handyland. The cabin was so cozy and the stars were absolutely stunning at night. We walked the trails and they are beautiful. Don’t miss them. Josh made sure we had everything we needed. Our dog was able to get some exercise and explore. We all left happy campers and would definitely stay again.

The bathhouse was wonderful to have, with hot water and clean facility. The site was easy to navigate to, and our campsite was fully ready for us upon arrival, with a picnic table and fire wood. Beautiful location and lots of farm animals to be around made this a nice spot as well!

For the water enthusiast and serious fisherman River Run has its own private dock with two slips and the ability to dock several boats around the perimiter. We have two gas powered john boats that can be rented in addition to your camper with a signed waiver but feel free to bring your own kayaks , or smaller fishing type boats. ( no yachts or pontoons ) There are miles of river to be explored with lots of amazing natural beauty. The Kentucky river has a great variety of fish for your chasing, large and small mouth bass, walleye, muskie, drum, pan fish an abundance of nice size channel cats which are so much fun to catch. Talk to me nice and I might give you some tips. There is so much here you will have to come and see for your self. FYI gang plank going down to the dock is steep so depending on your physical condition the dock may not be accessible to you.

We do offer a pull out sofa bed if the loft isn't appealing. We do have an alarm system in the tiny house that will be disarmed during your stay. We do ask that guests not attempt to arm the system. If it is set off, the police will automatically be called and come for a visit. We have it for long periods of time where our tiny house is unattended. We have multiple outdoor cameras that will be recording 24/7 during your stay. We only pull the video if a problem arises. Per our insurance-We love all dogs, but our insurance company says no to Akitas, American Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bulls), Chows, Presa Canarios, Rottweilers, Shar-peis, Wolf Hybrid, Mixed with predominately with a listed breed) No exotic animals or any animals that display aggressive behavior. We allow ONE dog under 70 lbs. If you bring a dog- pick up the waste from yard.

We enjoyed the privacy of our covered porch and fire ring. The bird feeders hanging all around the cabin are wonderful to watch all the birds during the day. The community fire ring is close enough to enjoy with other campers, but not to close that we could hear anyone in our cabin. Amber and Michael checked on our needs many times during our stay. They hosted a chili cook-off that we greatly enjoyed and passed out candy to all the kids. Overall a great time and experience. We will stay here again."

Deer Haven

We recently moved from the next county over and are enjoying making this place ours and improvements for guests. Property is 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, close to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), close to restaurants and attractions such as Kings Island (approximately 1 hour), Creation Museum (approximately 25 minutes) and The Ark (approximately 25 minutes). Also nearby are several state parks and local favorites such as Big Bone State park, Rabbit Hash,and Riverbend. We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly. Learn more about this land: Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic.
