This tiny Cabin is an ideal getaway set between a cow farm and a horse stable, we sit first place on a dirt road with ten acres of private land near the cute village of Lee.

The cabin is with a fire pit out back and plenty of free fire wood, nice walking trails that lead down to three springs with sitting areas, and a open field great for cycling, running, walking, or relaxing. 

In the summer we provide and outdoor shower and a compost toilet.

George Deering owned these acres and worked as a farmer in the early to mid 1900's, my parent's acquired the property in 1991 and it has since been passed on to me.

Come visit a converted Grange hall that was MOVED to its current location 10 years ago! Nestled on 35 beautiful acres, it gives you the chance to choose meadow or forest camping along with meeting some new animal friends!Learn more about this land:Come join us on Howling Goat Farm where you can pitch a tent on our field site for a front row seat of the night sky and a spectacular view of the Milky Way. OR we have a secluded site in our wooded area that you are more than welcome to stay in for a more private experience! We are a non-conventional camping area where we don't want anyone to think that they are sardines stuffed into a tiny lot. We keep our bookings to a minimum so more often than not you'll have a whole field to yourselves with more privacy than any other campground. We hope you'll join us for a few days of farm life and the simplicity that we can provide.  We are within 4 miles of 95 and  centrally located between Rangeley, Baxter, Moosehead and Acadia National Park.

Wolves and Sounds of the Night

As of today 11/16/2024: Winter Camping is allowed however , there is NO shower or outdoor water access until further notice in Spring. Call for information.Required and Important: Read all of the info, rules and requirements which change seasonally. When you submit a request be sure to check your hipcamp messages for our questions and the acceptance confirmation info. Submitting a request does not finalize or guarantee a reservation, Which requires approval from the property. Before you make a reservation read the description of each site, there are 5 different names of the choices with different options. . Read all of the info, and when you submit your request please include/verify the following info: Is everyone in your group at least 21?/No kids or pets traveling with you.? What sort or camping unit.? Tent/RoofTent/RV/Hammock/Trailer./Van./ Box Truck or creative bus conversion/Cowboy Camper…?  Your reservation request will not be accepted until we have those responses so including that with your reservation request is what we need to know. Several of us live/work/answer messages here. Calling, directly by telephone in advance of reserving is STRONGLY advised and it is mandatory to arrange your arrival time with the staff to be allowed entry. Clarity with your request is necessary. At check out look at the “extras” section to include any pre purchases or rentals. For those flying in or wanting to travel light, you can select “The Works” which includes a tent, bedding , firewood , towels ,chairs,  a cooler and numerous camping supplies including coffee and cups. Great for spontaneous  adventures and we will have the tent  site ready for you to just show up. Easy! 

  Our camping section is located on the property of Kisma Preserve. Home to abundant local wildlife and our own resident animals ,

Including domestic and  non domestic and our favorite, Wolves. . Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds that exist within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desert Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too by phone or in person only.  We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the  accessibility as weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable  in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated.  Or If you want to have a solid roof , screens and a fabulous view ask about reserving our Cadillac Mountain View Loft or if the idea of being naked under the stars is appealing opt for our Raw and Rough site.! Pulling in late, and leaving early for a typical Sunrise reservation.? We can also accommodate that if we know that is all you want.  Traveling with your horse.? Talk to us about an Equine site.  The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Always call, we can answer all questions to get you into the right site for your style of adventuring. With each listing  be sure to READ all the information and the rules.  If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we have a variety of rental equipment.  Last minute reservation requests may not work via the reservation site but we may very likely have a space. Any questions, call two zero seven six six seven three two four four, calling is the only way to be certain we ( at the physical property) receive your communications and it is important that you also check back to your hipcamp site regularly to see if they ( hipcamp) have sent you communication pertinent to your reservation.

About this land:

We have a beautiful, thickly forested 16 acres 30 minutes from coastal Belfast near the Common Ground fairgrounds and Unity Pond / Lake Winnecook in Unity. We live in Wabanaki Alliance territory, on unceded Passamaquoddy land. A right-of-way going through the property offers great viewing, walking, biking, ATVing, horseback riding, birding, xc skiing, or snowmobiling. Bushwack to a swimming hole to escape the bugs and heat. Or, give us tips on our disc golf half-course (lots of putting). You will select from a variety of primitive campsites (all more than 150 feet from parking!) offering private commune with nature, and the nearby town of Unity can satisfy your need for near music, drinks, or socializing. We recommend you bring your own water, as our well is of questionable quality and far to haul. Please do not bring outside wood. We have rentable bikes and kayaks so long as you have a way to carry them (no racks).

Sebasticook millennium Green

Part of an early 19th century farming community which faded into history well over a hundred years ago. Since then, it has been used exclusively for hunting, trapping and timber harvest.  Other then a few scattered seasonal hunting camps, this is a privately owned uninhabited / undeveloped tract of land on the Eastern banks of the Seabasticook River watershed.

Primitive Tent Camping within a mixed wood forest. Located ten miles East of Waterville, Maine or Six miles West of Unity, Maine.  The Sebasticook Millennium Green is a terraced 207 acre forest with over 18 miles of trails. Vehicle access is via a seasonal town road with parking a short walk from campsites.  There are four unimproved sites with picnic tables and fire rings that will only accommodate one tent.  These sites are accessible with a regular vehicle and located a short distance from the marginally maintained (dirt) town road.  We try to provide firewood for the sites when possible and campers are welcome to gather downed wood to use.  There is a fifth site (ridge) that is a mile hike through the woods or accessible via 4wd vehicle, this site has room for four tents, has a large firepit, three picnic tables and an outhouse.
