Fresh powder, thick ice on the pond couldn't ask for anything better! Definitely recommend a snowmobile with significant snow! Absolutely beautiful out there.

Weekend Trip to Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond

I have left reviews before but this was my first time winter camping there. First , yes it was cold but if your prepared you should do just fine. I'm truly torn on if it's more beautiful in the summer or the winter! The fresh snow on the trees made for great scenery as we walked down to check out the pond. Although frozen, we choice to not press our luck lol. But I will be back for the beautiful fishing I know awaits. wildlife tracks everywhere! It was truly an experience and I look forward to another return!

Weekend Trip to Four Acre Woods Campground

Caleb's yurt was a pleasure to stay in. We arrived to find a well lit campground, equipped with a gas grill, was station and firepit. The yurt was nothing short of luxurious with all the amenities. The wood stove we found packed and ready for ignition. Definitely coming back to this great, tidy campground

The location & setting were great. Caleb, the caretaker, was helpful and always available. The "smallness" of the campground (12 sites?), was what we wanted. The close proximity to lots of hiking trails and the shoreline were bonuses.

1 night at Four Acre Woods Campground

We didn’t end up staying at the yurt, but I don’t seem to be able to leave a review on the tiny house we stayed at. There ended up being some electrical problems with the yurt so we were given some options and ended up staying at Calebs tiny house in Stonington. It was so lovely and just the perfect space, beautiful view, and very accommodating. Would stay at the tiny house again and will definitely try to stay at the yurt another time. I Was also pleasantly surprised that four acres stay open so late into the season. Overall easy and welcoming stay, would recommend either the airbnb or campground just because the host are so nice.

This was the most unique and wonderful stay we’ve ever had. It felt private but wasn’t too far away from things we wanted to do. Lily is the most accommodating host and was a joy to meet. We will absolutely be back ❤️

Amazing stay at four acre woods- great amenities in the communal area, hot shower, and sauna was awesome! Quaint site, quiet at night, beautiful area. Excellent value stay!

A beautiful island campground thickly forested with spruce, fir, and birch, Four Acre Woods was created over 60 years ago on Sunshine Island, Maine. Under the name Sunshine Campground, it hosted people from all over the world and delivered the spirit and essence of this ancient, abundant land that so many ancestors had roamed and celebrated before. It was open to the public through to the 90s, but then sat alone for 15 years, waiting for someone to revive it and bring it back to the world. Then one day, Caleb and Wolf met on a bus, heading south from Down East Maine, where they instantly connected and joined forces. They worked together redressing a home in Stonington for visitors to experience and became brothers while doing so. Eventually, the presence and opportunity of the campground caught their attention and after working out the technicalities, they worked together to bring this beautiful land and campground back to the people under its new life and name, Four Acre Woods. Graham Cracker Cabin and Campsites

A very sweet and rustic Hemlock cabin, along with secluded 17' and 14" bell tents, plus 2 private campsites sit along beautiful Webb Brook. Walk through the large open field, away from everything, to this storybook setting. All you can hear is the waters of the brook rushing and sounds of nature all around. Graham Lake is just a stone's throw away. Great for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. This magical place is just beyond our farm where we you can buy fresh chicken and duck eggs daily at the house. In the cabin, upstairs, a lofted queen bed accessed by a sturdy wooden ladder. Downstairs, a wood stove with dining area, and living space with full sized convertible bed. No electricity, no plumbing, no wifi. Good cell service. Composting toilet and water tank for use inside cabin. Gas grill and firepit with tripod grate outside for cooking options. Two large picnic tables for outdoor dining. Truly a magical place. The campsites and secluded 2 bell tent sites are hidden away along Webb Brook, sitting among the pines and hardwoods. A port-a-potty available for all guests' use. Almost 9 acres of land to explore and discover, as well as Graham Lake just a walk away.

It is a one-hour drive to Acadia National Park! ECO-CABIN. The two-room, insulated, clean and cozy cabin has an adorable front porch with two fold-out chairs and a small table. There are solar string lights that light up automatically at night. Inside you will find all new furnishings. The main room has a dining table and two chairs, a small library of local authors, games for indoor entertainment, and solar lanterns and battery-powered candles for when it's dark. The back bedroom has a new, super-comfy queen bed, two drawers, and plenty of hooks. The bed has a mattress cover and clean, fitted sheet. BRING YOUR OWN SLEEPING BAGS AND PILLOWS. PATIO & OUTDOOR KITCHEN - Adjacent to the cabin is a lovely cedar patio with a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen, patio table and chairs with an umbrella for shade, and outdoor games (corn hole and bocce). BRING YOUR OWN POTABLE (DRINKING) WATER. NO ELECTRICITY. This is a truly an off-grid cabin so no air conditioning or electrical outlets. There is a nice cross, ocean breeze in the cabin. Please note: No electricity, no plumbing, no wi-fi. Campers are required to bring their own drinking water, towels and bedding (pillows and sleeping bags). We will supply you with one 5 gallon solar shower bag of non-potable water, toilet paper, and a limited amount of battery operated or solar powered light fixtures. We encourage campers to bring flashlights and headlamps. This site does not offer internet, but cell service from certain providers seems to be quite good.

Salt and Oak Farm

Learn more about this land: You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.
