Weekend Trip to Kitchen Girl Farm

The camp site was private and well prepped. Host was very responsive. Very close to many Gunpowder State Park trails for trout fishing and hiking.

The farm is nice and the area is peaceful. The kitchen is a plus – it made meal clean up easy. The campsite is near a road and a couple of homes but the road isn’t busy and the neighbors are very friendly. It’s a good place to stay if you would like to bike the NCR Trail. The White Hall NCR Trail Parking lot is just a few miles away. Buy the eggs!

Throughly enjoyed our camping weekend on Ben’s land. We met Ben on his morning jog, super pleasant and friendly. We even got some visits from his dog, Hopper, which I more than appreciated, such a cute and friendly little guy. More than enough space for both are awning and tent. And probably could have fit two more tents, even one by the creek. The sounds of the creek and birds chirping were beautiful. We will definitely be back! Private but still able to see or hear some cars/people (but not much) and not far from gas stations and major grocery stores if you were to forget something. Directions to the site provided by Ben were clear and we were able to find the site at night with ease.

I loved camping at Kitchen Girl Farm. It is stunning out there. We stayed at the site next to the barn and used the grill and got to hang out by the blooming daffodils. In the morning we woke up and made coffee and went on a little walk around the property. It was so peaceful and the historic barn is so beautiful. Such a pleasant stay so close to Baltimore but you feel so tucked away in the country.

We loved camping at Peggy’s. The views were beautiful, the site was very private. The family house was right there but they didn’t come out. We will gladly go back.

Great stay! They had a nice fire pit and a very clean porta potty. There were cute barn cats and many different animals to look at. The owners were quick to respond to questions and very friendly. Would absolutely recommend.

Staying at Hipville was great and we loved being next to the creek! The location was private and quiet, and we absolutely loved getting a visit by Hopper, the owners dog. Hopper made our day and was a great tour guide. Ben was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We plan to stay again when it’s warmer so we can enjoy the creek more!

We enjoyed the peaceful scenery and nights. The pond was pleasant and the kids enjoyed the open space. It was great for bike riding and walking. Fireside evenings and cooking were nice, as was the firewood.

Nothing like camping next to the Big Pipe Creek and the smooth comforting sound of the moving water. Ben has made some very nice improvements to the site. He is a good man and a gracious host. I will always return.

Welcome to our fifth generation, mini-valley, woodland, and rolling hills. Empty Cupboard Farm has been family owned since 1918. It is presently planted in soy and corn. Wildlife abounds, including deer, small mammals, and geese. Bald eagles and Heron even take a pond dip periodically. Woodland trails are accessible and new tree plantings can be observed. We welcome RVs under 30'. It will be too hilly for anything longer. (Be aware: inclement weather is not your friend here if your vehicle can't handle potentially slippery conditions.) Enjoy the following activities: Mountain biking, pedal onlyPond fishing. (Sorry, no swimming in the pond; but an "An open to the public", private pool is 13 miles/20min. As is the Y. Lawn games and a fire pit are available. So are the stars at night; cloud permitting. Consider the free star gazing app, SkyView Lite, even in the day and under clouds. Don't miss our stunning sunsets at the "Red Door," our entrance. Historical towns within 10 miles any direction are reached over rolling countryside. Gettysburg is less than 20 miles. Taneytown, 1836, has an extraordinary antique store that is a delight to browse; as well as fine dining, drive through, an open air beer garden and close by grocery stores. Homemade ice cream is found at Baugher's and Hoffmans in Westminster. Baugher's Orchard has "pick your own" available. There is a mini farm animal petting zoo at the orchard. Additional things to see: Boating in Carroll County Maryland. Local wineries Ski Liberty Carroll is a full service county whatever your needs.
