Weekend Trip to Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

Scott and Christine's 11 acre land was a peaceful place to be at. Their camper was a sweet experience for any family that loves to be outdoors and enjoy the luxury of being home away from home. It's perfect for small families and larger families. We brought our family pet dog along with us and he loved the camping/glamping in an RV as well as running around on the trails that Scott and his family have on their 11 acre land. It was beautiful to leave the city and be in the sticks of the charter township, Comstock. At Scott and Christine property we fully enjoyed hearing all the serene sounds of nature that you rarely hear in the hustle and bustle of a city. Inside their RV provided everything needed to camp/glamp; pots, pans, cooking utensils, cleaning supplies, flat skillets, griddles, grills, Dutch oven, conventional RV oven, microwave, RV stove, eating utensils, paper plates, paper and plastic cups, Keurig coffee maker. Literally everything you could think of that you would need or want to camp/glamp comfortably was already there. They even had shampoo/conditioner, body wash, anti microbial hand soap, cleaning supplies, deep woods off spray, first aide kits, full body towels, hand towels etc, to keep clean. We brought our own toiletries. It definitely was a cozy home away from home. Don't worry if you forgot to pack anything because chances are that Scott and Christine got you covered. Bring your loved ones and have a relaxing time.

Absolutely wonderful time!! The hosts are amazing and the camper plus campsite is perfect with everything you may need! Our dog was able to be off leash entire time even during trail walks. We will most definitely be back for another trip to total relaxation and serenity! Thank you again Scott and Christina for an amazing time!

My family and I had an amazing weekend at Scott’s camper, they have everything set up to get you started for a great family camping trip. We wanted a quick easy and relaxing weekend and that’s exactly what we got. He even came down to the camper to introduce himself and make sure we were settled in, they allowed our dogs to explore and it was all around a great experience. He started us off with lots off wood and even showed us how to get the fire going (beginner here) His camper was well maintained and clean. He even had a table to set up by the fire, a fan, shampoo and games! At night time I was able to log into my Netflix account and unwind on one of 3 tvs the camper has to offer. The surroundings were peaceful, and quiet. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to 2Chicks And A Farm

This was a perfect overnight trip and can't wait to come back! The tent, camp beds, and chairs were super comfortable. But Julie really creates something special with her extra touches. We added on the extras- dinner and breakfast. I enjoy cooking over a fire but a three course meal? Delicious!! Dessert was perfect with hot little fruit pies with ice cream! The animals were fun. We made bestie with a little calico kitty who spent the evening and morning with us. I got to visit the baby goats, and the chickens made the rounds chaperoned by their rooster. And when our car battery was dead, we even got a jump. Full service. Everyone we met was friendlyand welcoming. Yay!

3 nights at Muskegon Pines-Lake Cabin

A clean, secluded, well-supplied and maintained cabin with fantastic views from the entire back of the cabin. I was able to cook full meals without issue thanks to the well-stocked kitchen; and the furnishings, linens, and bathroom supplies made the place feel like home. There were even dedicated 'sofa blankets' for the dog! A lot of places that allow pets don't do much to make their presence feel welcomed, but Mike took that extra step, and it was greatly appreciated! Baseboard heaters were individually controlled making it easy to keep it as cool or toasty as we needed, and the appliances and fixtures overall were in better repair than most rentals I've ever stayed in. The hot water pressure in the bathroom sink was low, but it really was not an issue. There was plentiful firewood for the pit out back and stove inside. The outside furnishings were plentiful, but it being off season, we didn't spend a lot of time lounging outside. There are ~182 steep steps leading down to the water, and the property does drop off sharply in back. But the view!!! Mike is a pleasant, helpful, and responsive host; and I cannot recommend him or his property enough! A note: For us, our nav/phone directions took us right to the property. Turn onto Partridge from Locust (right or left depending on your directions, but do go down to Mallard, past Partridge (PVT), and turn right. There are mucky spots in the lane that may be a bit much for a 2WD but not impassible.

Wanderers Hideaway was a cute and cozy place with the most fitting name! My boyfriend and I both thought it was the perfect place for a simple weekend stay with a taste of the outdoors. The electric fireplace maintained the cozy and comforting vibe especially during the winter, and having a small kitchenette was very useful for making our meals! Cindy and Travis have a very well thought out little place, with a cute guestbook everyone should make sure they sign!!

Weekend Trip to Hemlock Ridge Homestead

The Acorn retreat is such a memorable getaway from the daily routine. My best friend and I were up in the area for a ski/board trip and I’m convinced there’s no better place to stay than here. From the acorn retreat, to the tiny home, and the entire homestead itself, you find yourself inspired and soothed to everything this place has to offer and the warm welcoming and conversations with April and her amazing family. I will always highly recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a great and relaxing time. I’ve personally been here once in the fall and once in the winter and this place was jaw dropping each time and will continue to be for future visits. April is an amazing host, goes above and beyond for her guest, has amazing recommendations for the area and will help you in any way they can. We’re all looking forward to coming back and taking in this beautiful place that April’s family have created many more times. Thank you for everything!

We had a very nice stay! The cabin had everything we needed and it gave our family plenty of space. The living room was very cozy with the fireplace. The large fenced in backyard was a definitely a bonus so our fur babies could run around and not have to be on a leash or tied up. We would definitely stay here again.

This property is tucked away in the woods but close enough to run into town. We had zero issues finding the place. It’s a really cute property. Hot tub was used a couple times. Little conveniences were provided within the cabin and facilities ☺️. We used microwave and hot plate for cooking. A grill was available. There were four of us adult women for a girls getaway. No issues fitting in the space.

For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres. 15 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites are located. Each one has a fire ring and wooden picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and and brush / wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and wooden picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. Then another in the middle of the pasture, one for sun lovers and one for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and wooden picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

We were married in 2016 and have four children as part of our blended family. We are both originally from the Upper Peninsula. Superior Times Resort and Campground was the result of us wanting to do something “outside of the box” that would allow us to raise our family and show them there is more out there than the traditional path. We also wanted showcase our love and respect for the beauty of the Upper Peninsula; the area that many refer to as “God’s Country.” In December of 2016, we mistakenly pulled into the driveway of this property. At that time, it was known as Coleman’s Paradise Resort. There was a For Sale sign marking the property. We both knew at that point our fate was sealed to become this property’s new owners. We learned that this property had been a family vacation destination for nearly 100 years. We could only imagine the special memories that had been made here over the years! We wanted to become a part of that deep history. Through the many years of the resort’s history, the owners had changed and the cabins were showing true signs of their age. We knew there was A LOT of work that simply had to be done. On a wing and prayer, we somehow made this great resort ours. Lynx Run Wilderness Retreat

My property (Lynx Run) has an amazing geological and historical background. During the last ice age, glacial waters carved out the ravine in which the Betts Creek flows. Sometimes, the creek drops over 60 feet below the surrounding terrain as it meanders back and forth in oxbows as it flows toward the Muskegon River. It was once the hunting, foraging and camping grounds of the Potawatami Indians. In the late 1800's it was at the center of the Michigan Timber Industry. Running along the edge of my property is the old railroad bed where timber was once hauled away. Only two miles from my home, the logs were sent down the side of the hill and into the Muskegon River on log chutes and then floated to where the Muskegon empties into Lake Michigan. Piles of field stones indicate that after the timber industry moved on, farmers moved in and attempted to tame the land. But, fortunately for me, the land was abandoned by the farmers and has returned to a much more natural and pristine state. My land is now a part of the Manistee National Forest and I am surrounded by thousands of acres of beautiful land (both public and private). I am the only person who lives back here in this part of the forest, so seclusion and privacy are wonderful and the wildlife and beauty is abundant.

The property is shared by (2) full-hook up RV sites and a cabin. If available, the cabin and sites may be rented together however the owners, Jim and Maria, use the cabin much of the summer leaving just the RV sites available. The property is at mile market 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail - the midpoint. The Kal-Haven Trail is a biking, cross-country skiing, walking, running, snowmobiling - you name it, the trail that goes 34 miles from Kalamazoo to South Haven. Literally steps from the property and you are on the trail. But you may not need to leave the property, with 6.3 acres of woods and field, with trail cut through PLUS the added public lands butted up to Tincan's property line, giving almost 20 acres to roam. Each RV site - far enough apart to be separate, close enough if you and friends/family want to camp together, has a fire pit and fireplace. Each RV site offers water, 30|50AMP electrical and septic. The dock may have availability for keeping you boat - please inquire. There are kayaks and some bikes (mostly teen and adult size) that may be used. These are shared amenities for the cabin and campsite guests and offered on a first come, first serve basis. There are surprises galore around the property; big foots to be found tucked around the property, games, and overall just a fun place to be. This was a run-down fishing cabin Jim and Maria lovingly brough back to life as a second home and they delight in sharing it. Jim often referred to it as "The Tincan" while working on it as it was - indeed, a tin shack and the name stuck. Kate, your booking coordinator, helps Jim and Maria tend to the administrative side of getting the property booked and keeping the details in order. Located in Clare county, Harrison is surrounded by 20 lakes within 20 minutes. Harrison is also known for its large amount of state land for recreational activities all year round. We are right down the road from Little Long lake and Budd Lake public boat launches. We have deeded lake access to Little Long Lake with use of our paddle boat and kayaks. We can provide parking with a boat, trailer, etc., but will need to be arranged prior to check-in. There are several restaurants, delivery options, and a grocery store right down the road. There is also a putt putt golf, skiing and snow tubing at Snow Snake, arcade, batting cages, bowling, indoor golf, ax throwing, beaches and Wilson State Park. If you have side-by-sides, quads, jeeps, snowmobiles, or dirt bikes, there are endless options with groomed trails in the area for you to ride all day long. We have two cabins, the Harrison Hideaway cabin and Wanderer's Hideaway that can be rented together for larger groups or rented separately. Please message me if you would like to rent both cabins for you and your guests. We are new to this process and want to make you and your guest feel accommodated with a 5 Star stay.
