EarthWell Retreat Center boasts a spring-fed swimming pond situated on forty acres of rolling prairie, forest and wetland, surrounded by one hundred acres of Washtenaw County Nature Preserve. Six off-grid sleeping cabins dot the landscape, all within a short walk to our Common House, that includes a large gathering space, community kitchen/dining and bathrooms/shower. EarthWell offers Yoga and Meditation classes and weekend retreats year-round. Located in Southeastern Michigan, just 30 minutes west of Ann Arbor, and near the towns of Grasslake, Chelsea, Manchester. (All downtowns are 7-10 miles away). EarthWell allows hiking, wildlife watching (amazing sandhill cranes), swimming and canoeing/kayaking/paddleboating in our pond. East of Chelsea is the expansive Pinckney and Waterloo State Recreation areas, with over 20 lakes and trails for hikers, bikers, backpackers, and horseback riders. There are two households (the families of Ari Wakeman and Emily Adama) that live permanently on the property. (one in the lower level of the common house, and one in a cabin 200 yards from the common house.) During your rental they will maintain quiet and privacy for your group, but will remain on the property for the duration of your stay and will be available should any issues arise. Greetings and Welcome to our Beautiful Herbal Gardens! There are currently 2 grassy spaces for tent camping, 1 rustic area for car, van or camper stays and one small cabin. Tent campers park on street. 2 people per site, (open to discuss) no guests. Check in is 2pm. (please indicate estimated arrival time as we will need to be present to show you in) Check out is 12pm sharp. 4 nights max. Very nice and clean outdoor composting toilet. Outdoor rainwater shower during warmer months. Soap provided only. No offsite wood permitted, no foraging for wood on site, burning of trash or burning outside of designated area. If you would like to purchase a bundle of wood to have a fire, you can find that option under "extras". WE CAN NOT ACCOMMODATE DOGS AT THIS TIME. Our space is a shared sanctuary. Please remain clothed and quiet. If you would like to book a Reiki, Tarot or Massage session or visit our Herbal Hutt Shop during your stay, please request during booking or check our "extras" list. Our property is a small private campground. We have 30/20 amp electricity and water on each site. A dump station is available. We are in a suburban location that we describe as countryish. The campground is a park like setting with mature trees. The grounds are mostly shady with some areas of sun. We have a large community fire pit. We wouldn't describe our location as a place that you would want to camp at for an extended period. Our place would be a good place to try out sleeping in an RV. You can rent one of ours and stay in it a night or two to see if you like the idea of RV camping. Our place would be a great spot to stop off at for a night while passing through or attending a nearby event.

There are boat slips with shore power for your fishing boat. You can also fish directly off our dock. Hop in your kayak and paddle all around the shoreline. Our one-bedroom and loft units make for the perfect fishing vacation rental. Located directly on Lake St. Clair and across the street from St John’s Marsh you are surrounded by nature. Bring the boat or the kayaks! A boat slip with shore power is also included with our waterfront units. The huge yard, dock, fire pit on Lake St. Clair, and patio area allow plenty of options for relaxing. FISHING RIGHT OFF THE DOCK! Every unit comes with an optional boat slip with power. Plenty of parking for your boat trailer. Amenities Free WiFi and air conditioning are included in each unit as well as dishes,a coffee maker, a microwave, towels, linens, and a hair dryer. We have a fully furnished 18 foot tipi on a 3 acre mostly wooded land. Plus a 2 and half acre pond. there are many activities to do including swimming, fishing (catch and release only), kayaking, paddle board. Hiking trails and a few games around the property. We have a outdoor bathroom. There is electrical outlet 100 feet away outdoor electrical option. Detroit is 1 hour 20 minutes away. Port Huron 1 hour away. Frankenmuth is 45 minutes away. 10 minutes away from a wide variety of restaurants and shopping.

The worker was very helpful and the camp site was nice with multiple fire pits, outhouse, and a picnic table. The nearby train can get a bit loud but it didn't bother us too much.
