Weekend Trip to PeaceTree Farms

This is my new go to spot for camping! Love Katie and everyone at Peace Tree. Also great place for astronomers! It’s pretty dark, about a bortle 4 and there’s a really cool spot that overlooks the east. Great for moon rises!

We loved camping at Peacetree Farms! Our site was private and the rest of the property beautiful and clean. We met Katie upon arrival and she was super friendly and helpful guiding us to our site. We definitely plan to return soon!

It was a great retreat for one person. The trail through the woods was well cleared and I enjoyed several walks. Linda and Ron are kind and good hosts. The wifi didn't work well enough for my laptop to connect, but I did have service on my phone via Verizon data. The cabin has both heating and cooling and is well thought out. There are plenty of trees to bring a hammock.

Great spot for families. They have activities every most weekend for kids, two parks, a dog park, some hiking trails, and ponds to fish in. My family has enjoyed the stay here.

We made it to Sarah‘s farm and it was great. However, we did not stay there because we were worried about flooding as there were flood warnings in the area. Sarah responded promptly to any communications that I’ve had.

Incredibly beautiful place! The campsites all have great views of the water and nature packed woods. Sunset here was spectacular. And your probably thinking that it can’t get any better then that can it? It does get better…. We lost a purse and the host found it and called after we left defeated. They have it there going to even drive a hour away to bring this thing back to us! Will be back

Weekend Trip to Retreat to the Country

The yurt was cozy and comfy! As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and secure, too! The view was beautiful, even before the trees filled in with leaves and the little trail down to the creek was very cute! My young kiddos would have absolutely adored playing in the creek! Lots of fun little touches that showed that it’s a place filled with care and love.

Me and my girlfriend camped and everything went smoothly! Our doggo enjoyed the thick grass and all the land. The best part was seeing the stars at night definitely a good place to stargaze. JQ was very responsive and checked up on us accordingly. It’s always nice to know the owner cares about who is staying on the land. Definitely recommend a truck driving to the campsite but our little honda did just fine since it hadn’t rained previously.

Loved the space! Spent lots of time fishing (caught a few bass) and relaxing. Nice little spot to hang out with plenty of space for kids to run around. We had two tents, and a canopy that all fit perfectly in the area.

Weekend Trip to Spring Lake Ranch

Our visit to Spring Lake Ranch was wonderful! While the weather was still too cold to really get out and enjoy all the beauty we did love our views and Jonathan and his family were so easy and affable to work with. We chose an RV site with a lake view and tree coverage and loved the overall feel of the park. We watched the dogs and horses play, took the 2 mile hike both by foot and horseback and loved the evenings around the campfire with friends. This is a definite return site for us!!

Amazing bike park, beautiful surroundings and accommodations, but the best part was the owners and staff. All so friendly and helpful. They made us feel like family. I highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to D'Ranch at Clearwater

Tracey and her husband were more than accommodating for our trip. We had a great time camping out on there land. The camp sight was great we were right next to a creek which flowed in to the lake. We saw a bunch of deer walking up and down the creek. The farm is also great lots of friendly animals. I would definitely stay again

Weekend Trip to Seven Oaks

We stayed in the River Bottom section and absolutely loved it! John supplies wood and plenty of camp sites. There were hunting stands and view points in plenty of spots. We heard coyotes from the other side of the river at night and turkeys in the morning. There were views of the river close to the site. We used 4x4 to get down to the site but the dirt road was well taken care of. It did end up raining and John was proactive in reaching out offering to help us get out of that section if we needed it. He was always very communicative and I knew if I had a problem I could just reach out which was very appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone wanting to camp near KC.

It was very comfortable! The beds were perfect to make it an easy camping trip if your just wanting to get away, there was even heat and A/C in the bunk house when we arrived there was even a note that said “welcome Quinn and family” with little candies bill is very thoughtful, and let us have a fire in his yard! He was great host! I would recommend this place! He also has a cabin, and also a yert. If you prefer more of privacy the yert is farther away and the cabin faces his cool pound with a dock!

Hazards on our property include, but are not limited to: Biting insects, wild animals, dead fall trees (especially on the river bottom), slick and muddy approach to the river. In general, keep in mind you are camping in a timber and nature happens!

Green Acres at Red Brick Farmhouse

A quiet country retreat nestled in the picturesque rural outskirts of Higginsville, Missouri. Our place consists of three RV sites with water and electric hookups, two camping sites and one on-site travel trailer for rent. Wifi is available at all sites, except for Site 3. Green Acres at Red Brick Farm is located just 50 miles east of Kansas City off of I-70 at Exit 49. Once you are off of I-70 your drive is less than 8 minutes away on all blacktop roads. Site 2 is on gravel with 30 amp hookup and water, preferably best for RV’s and trailers 25’ and under. Site 1 and Site 3 are on gravel with a 20/30/50 amp hookup and water, best suited for larger RV’s and trailers. You may choose your site location, but due to the small number of sites we have we may have to alter your choice. This is so we can accommodate our guests in the best way possible, depending on the size of each rig. If you are towing a vehicle or pulling a trailer your total length should be 55’ or under. We will not accept Triple Axels. Site 4 and site 5 are for tents, pop ups, very tiny trailers and are in flexible locations. A 20 amp standard outlet can be provided for site 4 and site 5. For your use is a shower, toilet, and bathroom sink in our farmhouse basement. Please arrive before dusk, so you don’t disturb other campers. Site 6 Is the on-site travel trailer, ‘Ain’t She Cute’. No Pets are allowed when reserving ‘Ain’t She Cute’. The vintage style travel trailer is completely renovated and decorated with collectibles and antiques and is available for booking. It is furnished with a queen size bed, tiny kitchen, TV, wifi, and full size, not trailer size, bathroom. The trailer is for 2 guests, but an additional guest may sleep on the daybed, preferably a child or small adult. We live onsite in our 1920’s Prairie Style home which is also Red Brick Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast with three Guest Rooms available for booking. Look us up online. At your disposal, is the use of our outdoor furniture, a large yard to walk around in, a fire pit, a BBQ grill, and even a tire swing. Our restaurant, Red Shanty Cafe and BBQ, is located in the town of Higginsville, about 5 miles from Red Brick Farmhouse. Red Shanty Cafe is open Weds and Thurs, 11am - 8 pm and Fri and Sat, 11am - 9pm.

TLDR: seriously remote location with a view of the stars but also a wheelchair accessible curated home. 20ish minutes from swimming holes. We've dubbed this place the Mushroom House because of the seasonal abundance the woods provide. This is a place for nature lovers to bask in the forest and all she has to offer. You can see all the stars! We're fairly close (about 20 minutes) to many swimming holes, floating outfitters, etc. There is a cafe about 5 minutes away. It's a tranquil, remote location. This is a great place for hiking, foraging, plant/fungi/animal ID'ing, forest meditations, relaxing by a fire, working on art, writing, or self-reflection. We have taken over this property to preserve the forest and all the nature within it. We plan to continually improve the site with more wildflowers, food trees, shelter for wildlife, marked hiking trails, etc. The mushroom house and the 80 acres surrounding it are a work in progress. Wheelchair accessible 700 sq ft home with a queen-size bed, a twin pull-out couch, and a queen air mattress. Decor: MO Nature with a touch of vintage charm and maximalism. The mushroom house is about 700 sq ft, fully accessible, and has everything you expect a house to, including wifi. It has a wonderful wrap-around porch on 3 sides with plenty of seating and lounging areas. There is a primitive fire pit area with access to a hose. We ask that fires not happen on very dry, windy days as we are in the middle of the woods. You can hike the 80 acres or just lounge around and watch the wildlife from the porch. Property Rules: ✨Just be respectful and have a great time! ✨Dogs must remain on a leash while outside. This is for their safety. The forest is huge and we don't want anyone getting lost. ✨No smoking or vaping indoors ✨No trespassing on others property. ✨Leave wild animals be. ✨The garden hose must always accompany your bonfire. Please wet the area down before you start your fire. NO FIRES allowed when it's SUPER DRY. We are in the forest. ✨No cutting trees, destroying plants, etc. ✨5mph on driveway for the sake of your car (and the forest creatures). ✨No animal hunting. ✨No shooting. ✨No commercial photography or filming (contact us) ✨The pole barn and RV are off limits. Other Considerations: ✨So we are in the middle of the woods with many creatures. Beyond that there are no locks on cabinets and there are tip hazards, non-baby proofed outlets, etc. There are also bodies of water with no barriers. ✨We have a security camera for the driveway and motion sensors (no video/audio) at entrances Check-In: Anytime after 3pm We can meet you up the road and guide you in OR we can give you an access code - your choice.
