Me and my girlfriend camped and everything went smoothly! Our doggo enjoyed the thick grass and all the land. The best part was seeing the stars at night definitely a good place to stargaze. JQ was very responsive and checked up on us accordingly. It’s always nice to know the owner cares about who is staying on the land. Definitely recommend a truck driving to the campsite but our little honda did just fine since it hadn’t rained previously.

2 nights at Seven Oaks

Loved it. So chill. My kids kept saying how nice JQ was. He taught my boy how to fish in his pond. Look forward to going back again. Really appreciate the experience!

We stayed in the River Bottom section and absolutely loved it! John supplies wood and plenty of camp sites. There were hunting stands and view points in plenty of spots. We heard coyotes from the other side of the river at night and turkeys in the morning. There were views of the river close to the site. We used 4x4 to get down to the site but the dirt road was well taken care of. It did end up raining and John was proactive in reaching out offering to help us get out of that section if we needed it. He was always very communicative and I knew if I had a problem I could just reach out which was very appreciated. I would absolutely recommend this site to anyone wanting to camp near KC.

Had a great time with a group of six with a few tents. Lots of room to set up, and the area is secluded and remote enough to feel somewhat private. Hiked around the area and down by the river. Can’t recommend it enough. Just ideal for our needs.

Seven Oaks is our home. There are 40 acres of hardwood timber on the Platte river and 10 acres of grass and wildflowers; Miles of rustic trails for hiking or biking, some appropriate for hayrides; picnic table and a 300 sq. ft. treehouse with hammocks for relaxation; Play a game of Cornhole; Fish in our pond or the Platte river. Kayak available but must use life vests. We are 15 minutes from Smithville lake boat ramp. We are limiting the 40 acres of timber to five groups of campers to provide privacy and seclusion for all. Topside RV/Camper Site includes the newly refurbished 28 ft. camper that sleeps 4 comfortably. The Hickory Forest RV/tent site has water and RV power hookups available. The lower level has three other tent camp sites available. WARNINGS! Hazards on our property include, but are not limited to: Biting insects, wild animals, dead fall trees (especially on the river bottom), slick and muddy approach to the river. In general, keep in mind you are camping in a timber and nature happens!

Camp Under The Stars!

Nice little patch of heaven under no light stars on our farm. It's really cool to see every star as it gets very dark when the sun goes down. Very quiet except the frogs and critters chirping. Campsite is situated next to our pond with a dock and paddle boat. We've caught some nice sunfish and catfish here in this pond. Nice fire ring and stumps to use for tables or to sit on. This is a nice little spot for a stop off to enjoy the evening as you travel or stay a few nights! There are no restrooms on site. Water is available. Downtown Carrollton is about 3 miles away with a very nice grocery store, Up Town Brewery, shops and restaurants. We also have a new city swimming pool with slides Memorial Day through Labor Day, and the Burger bar restaurant! At this time we are limiting space to tent campers or single axle campers. Access to the pond is on a field and too heavy of a camper may be an issue if it rains.

There is a lot of nut trees and chickens! I inherited this land from my uncles who spent their whole life’s purpose to live and maintain the land. It has given me such peace and a great escape that I think everyone deserves to touch a piece of its soul to help you in your soul searching or unplugging from life to clear your mind to tackle the world! I’ve grown up seeing the land change, watching how nature can change streams and hills and love seeing how years and years of leaving it alone can create such a beautiful canvas all on its own. One of my uncles favorite things to do was to look for arrowheads and if you are familiar with ancient Indian practices, you can find many characteristics in these woods.
