2 nights at Streeter Mountain Farm

We stayed at the family room and it was very comfortable with grade mattresses and even shades to block out the light, which we appreciated. The library had a fantastic collection and we love spending a rainy day there. Ann Was super helpful and very kind and patient and showing us around and even allowing us to help a little bit on the farm. The kids loved it. Stephanie a great and welcoming space for anyone who loves Community. There was a lot going on, although it was only end of April and still early in the season.

I can’t say enough good things about this campsite. The setting is absolutely beautiful—rustic, peaceful, and surrounded by nature in a way that makes you feel truly immersed in the wilderness. I came for the solitude of winter camping, and it was perfect, but I’d return in any season without hesitation. What really sets this place apart, though, is the host, Nick. He’s hands down the best host I’ve ever had—thoughtful, incredibly helpful, and deeply knowledgeable. But more than that, he’s an artist and a steward of the land, and his farm is a true sanctuary. You can tell he cares deeply about the environment and about creating a meaningful experience for his guests. If you’re looking for a place that offers both seclusion and soul, this is it. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Streeter Mountain Farm

Our stay at Streeter Mountain was great! The cabin was as cozy as advertised, they started the wood burning stove for us so it was warm upon arrival, the hosts were welcoming, and the property is beautiful! Highly recommend for a weekend away to disconnect.

2 nights at Hussey Mountain Tree Farm

Wow! The Hussey Mtn Tree Farm is a beautiful property with amazing views and Eben is a top tier host. This spot is clearly a labor of love. The site and facilities were very clean and organized. Eben went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Most of the ski trails were above our ability but Eben made sure there was some groomed trails for us to enjoy and there was plenty of opportunity for snowshoeing and enjoying nature.

We had a good time while staying here, they were very helpful and accommodating. we stayed in the lighthouse which has no heat or electric while it was snowing, we did have our own personal propane heater and made it through the night just fine. it was definitely cold being that its the middle of winter, but they did offer us to stay in the main house with heat we just decided to rough it in the lighthouse and it was absolutely beautiful! the views were great especially in the snow (just very cold)! the walk to the lighthouse was a little rough due to all of the snow but overall it was great, i would definitely stay here again in the summer!

The space was spacious and in the Snow felt like a winter wonderland. Definitely going back in the spring!

Another awesome stay at Sacred Nectar Sanctuary! We explored snowy trails, experienced the sauna and cold plunge, had a fire at our site at night and was plowed out in the morning by Nick after some snowfall overnight. It’s always so beautiful and peaceful here.

Stayed here the last week of the season and had an awesome experience. The property is well cared for and has plenty to explore. The oak terrace site had a great layout and setup. Eben was a great host. He was responsive, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs somewhere off the beaten path to unwind and explore a bit. 10/10 experience and will definitely be coming back.

Nick is very welcoming and knows a lot about the surrounding area. The camp is Pristine... they truly are sacred sites, so peaceful and quiet. Clearly they have gone to a lot of effort to make this a truly magical place to stay. The sauna is really neat and the outhouses are downright charming. It is like Nick is playing out his dream camp and is so kindly sharing it with other hip campers. It’s clean and spacious and I would love to bring my entire family to stay here. It’s also not too far to drive to a cute little town with a country store, coffee shops, a library and other amenities.

Weekend Trip to Tent Platform on Forest Edge

This camping platform nestled on a wooded hillside is a safe, private and dog friendly site that was a great place to relax and get away. Kyra and Aubrie were very welcoming and provided firewood if desired. Their two friendly dogs came up the hill to introduce themselves to our Great Dane and then went about their business. There are two paths leading to the platform. The one on the left is a smooth incline dogleg turn and the other is a little steep climb directly to the fire pit. My girlfriend and I felt at ease here with privacy and enjoyed the views of the distant mountains. Town (Plymouth) is a short (10min) ride from the site where there's a Walmart and other stores for any supplies or food needed. I would recommend this site to any couple or solo campers.

Nudity is allowed anywhere on the property but not directly on the shared driveway. Neighbors are further down the road with an animal sanctuary so you may hear roosters, horses, etc. when they're hungry. Established in 2004, we are an 87 acre ATFS certified Tree Farm located in the Blue Hills Range in the Foothills to NH’s White Mountains. Choose from one of four unique sites / outdoor spaces to best fit your camping needs; book a combination to reserve a section of the mountain, or book all four sites for total privacy or for events. Our Farm spans the northerly side of Hussey Mountain from the base to the summit. Guests are provided with private access to several miles of multi-use nature trails, multiple scenic lookouts, a three acre PYO blueberry maze, and a dock on our private eight acre pond with available boat rentals. At the 2WD shared parking area guests are provided with a outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a portable toilet, garden hose for washing, a power strip for charging devices, and a spigot with potable water for filling containers. Over two decades ago we created our first campsite for the purpose of hosting family and friends. Folks enjoyed camping on the mountain so much they often would choose our farm over traditional campgrounds. Hosting campers became a regular weekend event, and to accommodate more people we created three more sites spread out across the property. In 2020, we came across the Hipcamp app and started offering private reservations to the public. Since, we have been hosting campers on a daily basis and continuously improving our sites / infrastructure / views. We’re excited to see what the next two decades hold; come join us on the mountain! Things to do on the mountain SPRING-FALL include… Hiking on several miles of maintained nature trails marked with clear signage for easy day/night navigation. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. ELM TREE FARM

Our ancestor Ebenezer Cole, settled in our little corner of Lebanon, NH., in 1847. Eight generations of our family have lived, and farmed here since. Although once almost totally cleared for crops and grazing, most of our land is now devoted to forestry, but some land remains open and devoted to forage crops. We also have a modern hillside maple orchard. Although we no longer actively farm full time, the stewardship of our farm is of upmost importance to our family. We encourage people to visit our property and enjoy it fully. We host a Boy Scout Troop campsite on another part of our property. We are located in the heart of the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region with countless cultural, and recreational opportunities just minutes away. We hope you will come for a visit and learn to love our farm and community as much as we do.Learn more about this land:Shaded Brookside Glen is a private, stream side, level, pull through site for a small RV, trailer, or tent. This is the private campsite we developed on our farm several years ago for when my wife and I need a little getaway, but don't have the time to travel. Shaded Brookside Glen is a level, mowed lawn surrounded by mature trees and bushes. Dry camping only, but a nice composting outhouse is easily available nearby. Water is available from the year round trout stream, but drinking water must be carried in. Shaded Brookside Glen has a picnic table, a metal fire pit, and limited fire wood is supplied. The drive to the site is across a grassy, mowed, well drained field, but can be effected by long periods of rain.

The property used to be part of the old Johanson farm, it was a 200 acre dairy farm a hundred years ago. The old stagecoach road which runs through the property from Canterbury Station to Northfield Station is now part of the main trails system. The early Pony Express riders dubbed the swamp on the land "Wolf Swamp", because there were many reports of riders seeing Wolves in the Swamp. The property is very open, although the sites are very spread out and secluded for ultimate privacy. There are several great hiking trails on the property, also used by local mountain bikers and Horseback Riding. Occasionally there will be an ATV or Dirt Bike passing through. We are located in the Heart of the local Trail system. There are several great places to swim and Kayak or Canoe literally around the corner. There are also lots of great local attractions close by, many that have Farm Stores, Shops, Homemade Gifts, Breads, Pies, Cheeses and we even have a few local Breweries. If you need more city life amenities like grocery stores or restaurants, the capitol city of Concord to the south, and the town of Tilton and Laconia to the north, are a breeze to access and are less than 20 minutes away. There is a marsh and a creek on the property that support myriad wildlife. There are owls, loons, eagles, hawks, hermit thrushes, robins, turkeys, song birds and herons. There are deer, moose, bear(don't leave your food out!), chipmunks, squirrels, opossum, raccoons(don't leave your food out!), skunks, minks, otters and many other species in our neighborhood. We live at the end of a dead end road with very little traffic and have space for campers and unlimited camping sites. Come on over! No potable water provided, bring a filter and filter fresh water while you are here. Outhouse is completed and has a separate trail off of the white blaze trail. Hidden Brook At Merrifield Farm

Hidden Brook is located on a small family-owned vegetable farm five minutes outside the village of Cornish, Maine. Three generations of farmers live here presently, but our family has been working this land since the mid 1700’s. Cornish is a pretty special place to live and visit because we are about 50 minutes drive from both the city of Portland on the coast and the White Mountains to the west. There are tons of local hikes here in the foothills, two big rivers to float or paddle, dozens of swim spots, good fishing and a lively little village with at least 7 antiques shops, local art and some pretty darn good restaurants. Our neighborhood even hosts some of the best musicians in the world each July at The Ossippee Valley Music Festival. Yeah, we got it all going on! Come play with us or just chill at Hidden Brook. So far, we have one spot open for “glamping”, The Bus, but will add The Vardo and two more sites as finances and our aging farmer bodies allow. The Bus, an engineless 1973 Bluebird School bus is pretty pimped out. Though off the grid, cell reception is pretty good and rechargable lighting is provided. Our outdoor kitchen, on a spacious deck, includes a heavy duty propane stove, Yeti cooler and pots and pans. Indoors, there’s a slop-bucket sink for dish washing and tooth-brushing, a small woodstove to take off the chill come fall and a nice big fire pit outside. Buses can get hot in summer, so we put ours in a shady little grove of ancient oaks amongst the remains of the farm’s original stonework and installed screens the full length of the bus. We built a compost-style outhouse and a beautiful outdood shower we call “The Cold Drizzler” down in the old homestead cellar hole. Kind of a secret garden bathroom : ) Inside is a full-sized bed for one or two people and two cot-sized “75 long bunks, sleeping a total of four humans. Quality mattresses, sheets and blankets with a change of sheets and tons of pillows ought to provide a comfortable night’s sleep. Four towels provided. Coffee and “pour-overs” on site as well as silverware, bowls and plates. All you really need is ice for the cooler and your food - or just go out to eat. Other things to note: Absolutely no smoking inside All shoes off before entering Quiet hours from 9:30 pm to 6:30 am ( we live in a small community and wish to respect our neighbors ) This is not a party camp, but a place to relax and listen to the birds. Please enjoy your music quietly. This is a working farm, but we will be as sensitive as possible when it comes to any loud machinery use like irrigation pumps and tractors while guests are around. Our dogs may visit, but are laid back once they have anounced your arrival. Directions to Hidden Brook and the Bus: You will be given directions to an address once you book but please make sure that you follow the signage to the bus carefully, otherwise you’ll end up at the wrong property. Drive until you see two giant, eyeballs attached to a telephone pole, and the bus will be immediately after that on your right. Thank you so much.

Halfpipe Farm

Winter offers easy access to groomed VAST trails in the field behind the house and studio. Hopkins Center, AVA Gallery, the Lebanon Opera House, Northern Stage, and a wide array of restaurants are within 20 minutes. The Lyme bridge is now open, so there are more restaurants, trails, activities and the Dartmouth Skiway! Despite the proximity to town and even to my home, the simple studio space is serene in its sumac baby forest. Lake Winnipesaukee camping provides access to some of New Hampshire’s best campgrounds, whether you want a secluded mountain getaway or a family-friendly beach retreat. No matter where you spend the night, you’ll glimpse the same scenery—but through a different lens. While Lake Winnipesaukee is the area’s largest lake, they don’t call it a Lakes Region for no reason. Lakes scatter the area and vary in attractions, campsites, and vantage points.

Where to go

Ellacoya State Park

Attention, RV campers. On the southwest end of Lake Winnipesaukee, Ellacoya State Park opens from mid-spring to mid-autumn and offers a range of amenities for your next beach getaway. This sandy beach campsite sits right on the water, with a communal picnic area, playground, and boat ramp. Park your RV, and you can swim, lounge, and gaze at the Sandwich and Ossipee Mountains.

Belknap Mountain State Forest

Not far from Ellacoya State Park, Belknap Mountain State Forest embraces Lake Winnipesaukee from a higher altitude. Hike up Mount Major, and you can spot the lake in the distance. On a clear day, you may even catch a glimpse of Mount Washington. If you’d rather look upward than outward, stroll the nature preserve trails for prime bird-watching.

All through the Lakes Region

Within a short distance from Lake Winnipesaukee, you can visit Squam Lake, Ossipee Lake, and Lake Wentworth, among others. Further out, Lake Sunapee is always worth a visit, whether for winter snowshoeing or year-round sightseeing. If you have a few days, take your pick of lakes—or just go for a scenic drive. It’s as easy to stop for a swim as it is to roll down your windows.

When to go

Lake Winnipesaukee is made for the summer, when water-based activities peak. However, the shoulder months are equally suited to camping, especially if you want fewer crowds and less heat. Think: scenic drives when the leaves change or temperate April hikes. In the winter, many lake campsites shutter, so you’ll have fewer options for Lake Winnipesaukee camping. However, the activities never stall. You can ice fish, cross-country ski, and ice skate throughout the cold season.
