We stayed at the family room and it was very comfortable with grade mattresses and even shades to block out the light, which we appreciated. The library had a fantastic collection and we love spending a rainy day there. Ann Was super helpful and very kind and patient and showing us around and even allowing us to help a little bit on the farm. The kids loved it. Stephanie a great and welcoming space for anyone who loves Community. There was a lot going on, although it was only end of April and still early in the season.

I had such a wonderful experience at Deep Woods Hideaway! The land is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, secluded, and the perfect spot to really connect with nature. I also felt the owner Billy was a special soul. He was incredibly kind, welcoming, and made sure I had everything I needed. His dogs were just the sweetest companions. I absolutely loved them! They added such a warm, homey feeling to the whole experience. I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking for a quiet, authentic getaway hosted by genuinely good people (and pups!).

Wow! We winter camped here. Site was clean, private, next to a beautiful stream, immaculate outhouse, local wood right next to sites. Excellent cell service. Had to park up the hill without a 4 wheel drive in the winter (due to ice and snow down by stream) so pack light if you're crazy like us and camp in the off-season. Can't wait till come back in the Spring!

I can’t say enough good things about this campsite. The setting is absolutely beautiful—rustic, peaceful, and surrounded by nature in a way that makes you feel truly immersed in the wilderness. I came for the solitude of winter camping, and it was perfect, but I’d return in any season without hesitation. What really sets this place apart, though, is the host, Nick. He’s hands down the best host I’ve ever had—thoughtful, incredibly helpful, and deeply knowledgeable. But more than that, he’s an artist and a steward of the land, and his farm is a true sanctuary. You can tell he cares deeply about the environment and about creating a meaningful experience for his guests. If you’re looking for a place that offers both seclusion and soul, this is it. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Streeter Mountain was great! The cabin was as cozy as advertised, they started the wood burning stove for us so it was warm upon arrival, the hosts were welcoming, and the property is beautiful! Highly recommend for a weekend away to disconnect.

Wow! The Hussey Mtn Tree Farm is a beautiful property with amazing views and Eben is a top tier host. This spot is clearly a labor of love. The site and facilities were very clean and organized. Eben went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Most of the ski trails were above our ability but Eben made sure there was some groomed trails for us to enjoy and there was plenty of opportunity for snowshoeing and enjoying nature.

We had a good time while staying here, they were very helpful and accommodating. we stayed in the lighthouse which has no heat or electric while it was snowing, we did have our own personal propane heater and made it through the night just fine. it was definitely cold being that its the middle of winter, but they did offer us to stay in the main house with heat we just decided to rough it in the lighthouse and it was absolutely beautiful! the views were great especially in the snow (just very cold)! the walk to the lighthouse was a little rough due to all of the snow but overall it was great, i would definitely stay here again in the summer!

We are open and above the floodwaters! Easily accessible from Rt 89 and Rt 4. Our Pick Your Own Blueberry fields open in July. Clay Hill Corners is a 10 acre working Blueberry Farm. We have PYO Blueberries and a farm stand open from mid July to August. We sell organically grown blueberries and produce locally. Learn more about this land: Our private Sugar Shack is at the end of our blueberry fields and faces the forest. The Sugar Shack sleeps two in a comfy double bed with clean sheets and a fleece blanket. I wash the linens and blanket in hot water for each and every booking. Please bring your own extra blankets or sleeping bag if the weather is cold. An additional clean quilt with duvet cover can be added for a $ 10 per booking fee. There is a small porch, a charcoal grill, four chairs, a hammock, a fire ring, fire wood, clean potable cold water, a solar shower, and an outhouse. We provide the firewood for the fire ring and we provide charcoal and lighter fluid for the charcoal grill. We have a 3 mile round trip hike to Harlow Brook with a map. We are on the edge of a wildlife corridor and often see deer, coyotes, fox, waterfowl, songbirds and the occasional bear. (Keep food in your car at night so that the bear does not eat it!) We are above the Ottauquechee River at North Hartland Lake. We have rentable canoes and a kayak. We can transport you to and pick you up for a canoe trip on the Connecticut River or to North Hartland Lake.. We are located two miles from Quechee, 7 miles from historic Woodstock to the west, and 7 miles to hip White River Junction to the east and 8 1/2 miles to Dartmouth College and the Appalachian Trail. There are fun casual restaurants with some sit down and take-out nearby and our local Jakes Market can provide you with a nice selection of groceries. Hot Air Balloon pilots often take off and land in our fields and it is always a magical site. We can connect you with local pilots if you wish to purchase a Balloon Adventure.

This land, now known by it's view gifting fields, is one of Sandwich's most treasured gems. The Historic Farm was purchased by Townsend Thorndike from the first colonizing family to claim ownership of this unceded land, the McCrillis family. It was Town's place to get away from the busy life. As time went on and his money dwindled and plans to sell off some of the land arose. Townsend's son, Nick, foresaw a devastating development of conventional homes that would diminish the soul of this sacred land that held so much magic. So, Nick decided to move back to the homestead to create an example of what a healthy life for the land and its inhabitants looks like. Established in 2004, we are an 87 acre ATFS certified Tree Farm located in the Blue Hills Range in the Foothills to NH’s White Mountains. Choose from one of four unique sites / outdoor spaces to best fit your camping needs; book a combination to reserve a section of the mountain, or book all four sites for total privacy or for events. Our Farm spans the northerly side of Hussey Mountain from the base to the summit. Guests are provided with private access to several miles of multi-use nature trails, multiple scenic lookouts, a three acre PYO blueberry maze, and a dock on our private eight acre pond with available boat rentals. At the 2WD shared parking area guests are provided with a outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a portable toilet, garden hose for washing, a power strip for charging devices, and a spigot with potable water for filling containers. Over two decades ago we created our first campsite for the purpose of hosting family and friends. Folks enjoyed camping on the mountain so much they often would choose our farm over traditional campgrounds. Hosting campers became a regular weekend event, and to accommodate more people we created three more sites spread out across the property. In 2020, we came across the Hipcamp app and started offering private reservations to the public. Since, we have been hosting campers on a daily basis and continuously improving our sites / infrastructure / views. We’re excited to see what the next two decades hold; come join us on the mountain! Things to do on the mountain SPRING-FALL include… Hiking on several miles of maintained nature trails marked with clear signage for easy day/night navigation. There is quick access to the Rockingham Recreational Trail, which is ideal for walking, mountain biking, and exploring. There is also a great swimming hole nearby called Chivers Pond. Located in rural Unity, NH and Charlestown, NH, just across the Vermont state line. Southernmost point, located in Charlestown is one of two campsites. The other is Shady Grove, located in Unity. The two sites, located in bordering towns share the same entrance and are connected by a 1/4 mile trail. Both are very large sites. Campers would drive to both sites down a trail so we highly recommend a vehicle with decent clearance and 4WD or AWD. Southernmost Point is a fully drive-in site. Shady Grove campers park above the site and the campsite is down a short path, just a few hundred feet or so. The property consists of varied terrain of rock ledges, lush moss, streams, and panoramic views at the summit. There are many options of local outdoor activities in the area or if you prefer, just sit and "listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock your soul".

Overview

The resort town of Meredith puts you in the center of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region. Lying on the western shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in the foothills of the White Mountains, the town is a gateway to such activities as boating, paddling, swimming, and fishing on the lake, as well as hiking and skiing in the surrounding mountains. A great way to see the area, especially in fall, is by traveling on the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, an old-fashioned train that rides along the western shore of Winnipesaukee from Meredith to Weirs Beach and Lakeport, just outside Laconia.

Where to go

Lake Winnipesaukee

The state’s largest lake, Lake Winnipesaukee is the focal point of the Lakes Region. Activities on offer include boating and waterskiing in the summer and ice fishing and skating in the winter. Ellacoya State Park’s campground, on the lake’s southwest shore, is a good place to base yourself.

Castle in the Clouds

Just 25 minutes northeast of Meredith, in the Ossipee Mountains of Moultonborough, the sprawling conservation area known as Castle in the Clouds is packed full of trails, waterfalls, and viewpoints that take in Lake Winnipesaukee and the surrounding mountains. The “castle” that the area is named for is Lucknow, an early 20th-century mansion.

Gunstock Mountain

Heading 30 minutes south, Gunstock Mountain offers year-round activities, from cross-country skiing, tubing, and snowshoeing in winter to ziplining, hiking, biking, and tackling a treetop obstacle course in summer.

When to go

Meredith is an all-season destination. Its lakeside opportunities and nearby Weirs Beach makes summer the most popular season. Fall, however, is very attractive as it brings spectacular foliage scenery. The winter is also great for snow sports enthusiasts who can go skiing on Gunstock Mountain and in the White Mountain National Forest. While spring can be wet, it is relatively crowd-free.
