It is common to hear the Coyotes and Owls throughout the day. In addition,Mink, Fishers, Bald Eagles, Turkey Buzzards, Porcupines, Raccoons, Skunks, Wild Turkeys, Ravens, Grouse, Red and Grey Fox and an occasional Black Bear are some of the inhabitants of the local forest. Guests can choose to have some peaceful alone time or be more engaged in our small community during scheduled community campfires, campfire pancake breakfasts or workshops. Beautiful brook views and a historic barn surround this 13x13’ circular, platformed tent. An outhouse is proximal, along with a fire pit for all the hot dogs and s’mores (or just gazing). Bedding can be provided at an extra fee, along with firewood and other amenities such as kayak rentals, farm-fresh eggs and produce. Enjoy walking trails through the hickory grove and sugar bush, and creek fishing in just moments. This is a great spot for kids, with a “mini playground” feet from the campsite (swings, climbing gym, sandbox & playhouse), as well as a swimming pond less that a quarter mile up the road. Barclay Mountain is just a 15-minute drive south, for history and adventure-lovers alike, and the Susquehanna River offers many learning opportunities both in the water and along her banks. Towanda has a sweet downtown with restaurants and small shops for all your commerce needs.
