Great spot nestled in the Catskills back country... the property and accommodations are ace, but the real treat is the king of the castle, the host with the most, Mr. P... he made sure everything was safe and everyone was warm and happy. Kids had a blast hiking around the woods and it was just really nice to be with and connected to nature. Couldn't have asked for more... especially on such short notice. Thanks again for everything, will be back for sure... Til then, keep on keepin' on...

Weekend Trip to Little Birds Farm

What a magical place. We decided to book a trip for our son’s 5th birthday and the site was everything a little boy dreams of. From the bunk beds with true tree limbs to the hidden beds above the kitchen area- it was perfect! It is certainly thought out and a lot of love was put into the building process. Jeremy was great with supplying firewood and amble cooking equipment which made it easy to not have to leave for anything extra one may need. Highly recommend paying a visit!

Very nice property, each site is very private. Be ready to walk your things to the site. Dom has wheelbarrows to help move things which is great. Great experience, the firewood is a nice big bundle. We loved the animals on the farm too. No tables at the sites but there are some nice stumps you can easily use as a table. Thanks Dom

Weekend Trip to Destination Farnch

We had an amazing time at Mike’s camp, even when it rained one night! There was plenty of firewood available, and the space was vast enough to accommodate a large group. We were upgraded to Phoenix Landing, which is more secluded and away from road noise—definitely a great spot for a peaceful getaway. We visited at the end of winter and could already tell that the area would be lush and beautiful in the summer. There’s a nice walking path on the property, perfect for a leisurely stroll. While there is a bathroom and shower on-site, we didn’t use them since we were only there for two nights and brought our own setup. The campsite was clean and well-maintained, and the land at Phoenix Landing was leveled, making our tent setup super even and comfortable for sleeping. There’s also a platform available, but we opted for a more primitive camping experience. We met Mike at the mushroom factory, and he was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and polite. Checking in and out was a breeze, and whenever we needed to communicate, he was always available and responsive. Overall, we had an awesome experience and would highly recommend this spot!

Such a great place! It has a perfect balance between camping and glamping. The Orchard tiny house was perfect for us (family of four), pretty secluded and private and beautifully located in the middle of the woods. It has a nice mattres, a table with benches and board games to enjoy. The fire pit and the picnic table are also very useful. We brought our own sleeping bags and blankets for the night, and meat for dinner and had a great time

Incredibly beautiful farm in a charming part of the Catskills, just a couple hours outside NYC. The cabins are really nice and tastefully set up and the kitchen and outhouse worked for our purposes. We were a large group and rented all four cabins on an extremely cold weekend in February. We expected it to be cold and it was (there's no heating in the cabins), but we were prepared with warm clothes and good gear. The place was snowed over and it was too icy to drive onto the property, and there wasn't running water due to the freezing temperatures, but the hosts were communicative ahead of time about all of this, responsive to questions, and very helpful. We were delighted to encounter peacocks and a bunch of hogs roaming around. Some of the hosts' dogs were unfriendly at times, which was a little unnerving.

This is my favorite hipcamp location yet! The seclusion, privacy and trails were perfect my dog and I to unplug for the weekend. I definitely plan on returning! Hosts were very communicative leading up to my arrival and am grateful for the farm fresh eggs from such a hardworking farm.

We thought that hipcamp could introduce people to our mission and make some extra money to get the farm off the ground. Ugly Apple Farms is a diverse place. We have opportunities for farm classes, pick your own veggies and more. We also have 1800 feet of access to the Neversink River. We recommend four wheel drive for some of our sites so please ask about them. We are an off grid farm with access to some solar for charging. We have tent sites and room for campers. Our camping is primitive but there is access to potable water and sanitation if needed. All extras are first come first serve if not reserved in advance. We love and welcome any questions! Little Birds Farm

This campsite is nestled in the deep woods of a 120 acre farm that offers beautiful views coming and going. After being allowed to use the restroom at the stone farmhouse, you will then go rustic and start your 3/4 - 1 mile hike in (approximately 20 minutes to the campsite) past the fields and pond down the path into the woods. The trail is remote and you will instantly be able to leave the sights and sounds of civilization behind you and breath the clean forest air. Wear good hiking shoes because portions of the hike are uneven and rocky. This site is best for experienced campers who know how to pack light with just the essentials as there is no tractor service to this campsite. When you arrive at the campsite, you will be within 20 feet of a year round stream with brook trout and in a hundred foot tall hemlock canopy nestled between two brook meadows. A 9,000 acre forested preserve abuts our property so you will be able to completely relax, bird watch, enjoy the wildlife, or fish for a brook trout breakfast without hearing the sounds of anyone but yourselves. The campsite has a stone fire pit, split log benches for seating, a canvas privacy blind around a stand of trees where the composting toilet resides, and a food bag lift to attach your food and trash bags to about 100 yards from the campsite. Unlimited Split firewood is free next to where you will park that you can take down to the site. All trash needs to be carted out with you. We can't accept mixed trash as it will attract animals that will knock over the trashcans and make a mess. No food goes in our personal trashcans as we have learned this the hard way. There is also an artisan pizza spot with indoor/outdoor seating, hipster vibes and fun cocktails and live music @ thedaleNY For shopping you can also stop by @ forageandgather - they have foods, meats, gourmet deli and coffee and carry all the little things you may have forgotten to bring along in addition to a locally and craft focused wine and spirits shop. Also stop by @badgrandmashop for the most vibrant and stylish clothes for all sizes and styles. Not to be missed. There is also a lovely yoga studio and bollywood dance spot in addition to some other delightful gems in town. There is superb hiking nearby at Neversink Unique Area in Rock Hill. Your'e also about 30 minutes away from super cute fun larger towns and attractions like New Paltz, Livingston Manor, and tons of incredible Catskill hiking and nature opportunities. NOTE! High Peak Meadows

Just off the NY Scenic Byway County Route 16, there is tons of space for larger groups. A New York favorite. Greet the morning sun from your tent as it rises above High Peak. Surrounded by the Indian Head Wilderness peaks, you'll enjoy the cool mountain air at night and stunning views all day long. Hike the trails and then dip in the creek when you get back. This campsite is equipped with a single Queen-sized cot with air mattress, woodstove, portable camp toilet, solar heated sun shower. Bring your own bedding/sleeping bags. Drive-up access requires SUV-type clearance for the creek crossings. For easier 2 wheel access check out my other 5-star secluded campsite- Schoharie Creekside Tent. Only a quick drive to Tannersville, Hunter, Windham, Palenville, Woodstock, Phoenicia, Catskill and Saugerties where you can explore the cute town, restaurants, and shops. The site is perched on the banks of the Roaring Kill Stream, perfect for swimming and fishing. There are also lots of flat areas to put additional tents. Great access to the Roaring Kill Trailhead and to the Devil's Path Hiking Trail. If you're looking for some water activities take a short drive to Tinker Town Tube Rental located in Phoenicia, where you will also find a popular local spot, the Phoenicia Diner. Site guidelines Do be careful driving on the dirt jeep track out to the camp. Don't miss swimming in the Roaring Kill Falls. Do leave the campsite just as you found it. "Don't feed the bears." Seriously, do keep a very clean camp. Do ask questions about local activities- swimming holes, hiking, etc. Please take all trash with you, leave no trace!

Moon In The Pond Farm

Well off the beaten track, it's scenic, private and peaceful. Camping at Moon In The Pond Farm is a little bit of heaven. There are six separate sites to choose from. All are in separate, different locations around the farm, so you have your own secluded spot to enjoy. (Though you may be sharing a field next to our Scottish Highland cattle!) Two are tent sites: the PondSide and the FieldEdge. There's one site for small/tiny RVs or Campervan. There's the BellTent--a bit of "glamping". And finally there's the HiddenCabin--a bed a roof and convenience. Each has a firepit with a small grill to cook over the fire. (all firewood provided) Our campsites are located in quieter areas of the farm. One overlooks the pond, three others are under the trees on the edges of different farm fields, one is a cabin nearer the farmstead. All require a beautiful, bucolic trek of 150-350 yards from the roadside parking--ensuring the quiet, natural experience. During the day times, you may see or hear farm work. At night it's lusciously dark and serenely quiet. You'll hear owls hoot, frogs croak, crickets chirp, foxes yowl and coyotes howl! In June and July the fields and trees light up like Christmas with fireflies, and you'll see the stars. During the week is the absolute best time--the local hot spots (or cooling down spots!) are much quieter, and all our campsites have reduced weekday rates. If you can, take advantage by adding a Thursday or Sunday night to a weekend stay. Wanna hike? We've got an awesome, easy hiking trail on adjacent Nature Conservancy preserved land. It meanders through woodlands, around rock ledges, through wetlands (on a 600' of boardwalk) and ends at a beautiful stream and pond with a gigantic beaver dam. Not far from here are numerous well-marked hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail (with famous Bash Bish Falls) and several offshoots (Sage's Ravine, Race Brook Falls), Bartholomew's Cobble, Umpacheenee Falls, and others). Also in the neighborhood are opportunities for canoeing, kayaking, swimming, rock climbing, off-road, gavel-road and country-road biking, snowshoeing, cc skiing and pretty much any outdoor activity/adventure opportunity. Or... you can just chill and relax, sleep, or read the day away! Love food? This is Farm-to-Table for real! Never so close--the table's AT the farm!! Bring your cooking gear and get some of our wicked fresh organic food--veggies, chops, sausages, eggs, bacon, granola, yogurt, etc. Sear yourself up a real treat! Very nearby, as the Berkshires is an alternative cultural mecca, there are also numerous entertainment opportunities from many great restaurants to art, dance, music, spas, galleries, antique shops, museums, cafes and much more. It's still amazingly quiet at the farm where the Milky Way is clearly visible.
