I recently stayed at Tilden Hill Farms Campground in Vernon, NY, and had a fantastic experience! The campground is set on a beautiful 155-acre farm with lovely sites by the lake and plenty of activities. The hiking trails were fun and well-maintained, offering a great way to explore the area. The improvements they’ve made are evident, and the place is incredibly clean. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I really enjoyed camping here. It's a beautiful and peaceful spot. We camped by the lake which is the very best spot. We also had the opportunity to purchase maple syrup that had been extracted from the trees right there. We enjoyed walking the trails and seeing all the obstacle courses for bike riding. Ken's land will be on our list to stay again if we're back in the area.

Weekend Trip to Tilden Hill Farm

We enjoyed staying on Ken's land. Everything was very clean and the sites are spacious and private. (there is a good distance between sites) The washroom facilities were conveniently located and clean. We were surprised by all the bike trails and we wished we had brought our bikes! Our only issue was that we checked in rather late and did not have cell service as we are from Canada. We wished that we could have gotten in touch with Ken to buy some of his farm products! Mary

We are a family that travels in our RV fulltime and have created this private oasis for travelers to unwind. This location is in a quiet area in the rolling hills of Morrisville. Our property is a rolling hill with views from the top and a pond and flat area at the bottom, we don't actively mow the hill and large field area, the camping area is mowed. We are 5-10 minutes from a couple of small lakes for boating and fishing and 15 minutes from larger Cazenovia lake. We are also close to Delphi falls that has hiking and a really nice waterfall to visit and walk in. There are other local parks and hiking in the area for things to do. We are only 5 minutes out of Morrisville and 15 minutes to the town of Cazenovia and Hamilton (weekend farmers markets). There are plenty of places to visit that are close including local wineries and 3 casinos within 30 minutes. By The Pond

Come and relax at the pond! Our property has 40 acres of mixed woods, farm fields and fun. It includes a small pond providing activities such as net fishing, swimming, and paddle boating(shared) as well as a larger pond for kayaking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Apart from the pond, other activities include the wooded walking trails (That includes fairy houses and hidden ceramic animals), an old fashioned playground with a merry-go-round and swings. Access to a shared pavilion with a pond view which has a large shared fire pit and electricity for charging devices. The property has dozens of newly planted fruit trees, rows of berries, and a large vegetable garden as the start of a farm. Camping options include RV dry camping in the open field or on a gravel pad with a 20amp electric hookup (no use of AC please) OR a tent site in your choice of the open field, on the edge of the pond, or in the woods. Each site has a small fire pit. There is clean primitive toilet on the property for use. **NO PEANUTS** or shelling of peanuts on the property, peanut butter is allowed in your rented site only. Adirondack Waterfall Oasis

With cobblestone mill ruins, a 200 year old cemetery at the property entrance and a large dam at the top of some of New York's most beautiful waterfalls, this is the former site of one of the Georgia Pacific's many logging mills dating back to the early 1800's and a part of Adirondack history. Surrounded by bedrock, huge boulders, massive pine trees and miles and miles of trails, the Fowlerville Falls offer days of exploration and/or relaxation. There is a large swimming hole at the top of the falls, just off of the South-facing bedrock bank, where you can swim or lay in the sun. The falls, themselves, are almost 500 ft. across (at the widest point) and approximately 150 ft. in length (from top to bottom), ascending at approximately a 40-45 degree angle, making them navigable by foot. In the drier months (and, of course, depending on rain fall), most of the falls are dry, with only 50 - 100 ft. of water flow, making them navigable by foot. There are many little pools and flowing water across the bedrock to explore, along with the rest of the river, the surrounding woods and adjacent miles and miles of atv/hiking trails. If you are kayaker, there river above the falls is calm and fairly shallow, ranging from .5 - several feet in depth. And if you are white water enthusiast, Fowlerville Falls (and the Moose River) is a nationally rated and renowned spot, boasting a class III-IV under normal release conditions, and a dangerous, cold class V under spring runoff conditions. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Learn more about this land: A raw, pine forest lining the bedrock banks of Port Leyden's Fowlerville Falls, just inside of the Adirondack park. The former site of one of Georgia Pacific's old logging mills, the property has private access to beautiful water falls, a large swimming hole just off of a large, South-facing rock bank, untamed, clean pine forests, ATV and hiking trails, trout & small mouth bass fishing, many fire pits and areas to camp throughout the property.

We also have 3 adult Nigerian Dwarf goats, 4 baby goats, the sweetest miniature donkey you'll ever meet, named "Walther," and a shy mini horse named "Harry Houdini!" :) All of our animals have free-range of our property during the day, but are penned up at night to keep them safe. *** IMPORTANT TO NOTE: We strongly recommend bringing ear buds/plugs to block out the barking of our LGDs (livestock guardian dogs) through the night. They're just doing their job, but if you're not used to it, you may not sleep very well, so please bring ear buds or plugs! They absolutely love people, so they may get curious and try to come hang out with you in your tent! Because of this, we can provide you with a spray water bottle to keep them away from your tent. It's an unharmful way to keep them at bay, so please let us know if you'd like to have it on hand during your stay. Additionally, we strongly recommend bringing boots for walking around on the farm, as well as clothing you don't mind getting dirty. Especially in rainy weather, the grounds can get very muddy, and beware of animals who sometimes jump when greeting guests! Please do not hesitate to scold any of the animals should they jump on you! They are sometimes overly friendly and need to be reminded to mind their manners! *** Come pitch your tent (or rent one of ours, subject to availability!) on the grass or on the wooden deck near the edge of our pond, or walk our beautiful 19 grassy and wooded acres to find your favorite spot to set up camp. During your stay, feel free to explore our property, do some fishing (bring your own gear!) or just relax by the pond, get to know our friendly animals, take a snooze in our hammock (coming soon!), feed the chickens, turkeys and ducks, pet our loving LGDs, pose for professional pictures while snuggling with our sheep, goats, mini donkey and mini horse, make your own pizza in our DIY outdoor brick oven stove, (coming soon!) then start a campfire and enjoy s'mores, before settling in for a cozy night under the stars!

Where to go

Hudson Valley & the Catskills

Close enough to NYC for a weekend break, head to the Hudson Valley to hop between Hudson River towns, picturesque vineyards, and farm-to-table restaurants. There’s great camping and hiking at Harriman State Park and Bear Mountain State Park, while Hudson River Islands State Park has kayak-in tent sites reachable only by water. Or head to the hills to explore the forest trails and wilderness areas of the Catskills Mountains.

The Adirondacks

With more than 6 million acres of rugged mountains, untamed forests, and glittering lakes, the Adirondacks is New York state’s largest park and home to its highest peaks. There are miles of hiking trails, canoe trails, and scenic byways to explore, plus dozens of campgrounds to choose from. Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, seek out a secluded spot in the backcountry to pitch your tent—dispersed camping is permitted on state land in the area.

Central New York & Thousand Islands

Woodlands, lakes, and more than a few waterfalls dot the landscapes of central New York. In summer, head to the lakeside beaches at Green Lakes State Park, Gilbert Lake State Park, or Bowman Lake State Park, all of which have popular family campgrounds. To the north, the Thousand Islands region is a favorite for coastal campers with its fairy-tale castles, island campsites, and Great Lakes Seaway Trail.

Finger Lakes

With 11 lakes, a dozen state parks, and three renowned wine trails, you won’t get bored in the Finger Lakes. Check out waterfalls at Watkins Glen State Park and Buttermilk Falls State Park, fish for trout and salmon at Keuka Lake State Park, or lounge along white-sand beaches at Fair Haven Beach State Park.

Western New York

Nicknamed the “Grand Canyon of the East,” Letchworth State Park is a must for hikers and leaf-peepers visiting western New York, along with nearby Allegany State Park. If you prefer coastal camping, you’ll find RV parks and campgrounds dotted along the shores of both Lake Erie to the west and Lake Ontario to the north. Or perhaps you’re heading to Niagara Falls, in which case you should book a campsite, cabin, or yurt at Four Mile Creek State Park, a short drive from the iconic falls.
