Ash Grove Cabins and Camping

25 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents14 acres · Brevard, NC
Nature Revives the Spirit! We believe the sights and sounds of nature - not those of the next guest, will help our guests achieve this ideal. Trees, flowering mountain laurel and rhododendron help to screen sites from one another, adding to a feeling of privacy and peace. So, revive your spirit in one of our forest walk-to tent sites, shady, drive-to tent or RV sites, quirky shelters, or fully furnished rustic mountain cabins. Located in the heart of "The Land of Waterfalls", we have more than 250 waterfalls within 30 minutes of Ash Grove. Centrally located between DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest and Gorges State Park, we offer the perfect basecamp for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to hike, bike, ride horses, fish, kayak, paddle or even visit our local breweries! As we like to tell our guests, Ash Grove is located 15 minutes away from Awesome in every direction!

Cherry Bounce Adventure Company

9 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents300 acres · Bostic, NC
Located on family land granted by King Charles in 1685 we have worked hard to restore and refurbish in a sustainable way, using the trees and supplies from the land that they sit on. Hand crafting doors and furniture the way the family did it 140 plus years ago. The history of this place is deep, even the nails for the cabin and farm house that is now the clubhouse were hand crafted by my great grandfather in his blacksmith shop, along with the wagon wheels, horse shoes, misc farm utensils etc... there was no running out to Lowes to pick up what was needed, it was made in the blacksmith shop. We love riding ATV's and SXS's on the trails on the mountains that I grew up on with my 3 brothers, we hope the people who visit and experience the mountains feel about them the way we do, we love em. We like to give riding tours and talking about the mountain and its challenges. We named the park from the famous product that was created here during prohibition, Cherry Bounce Moonshine. You can visit some of the original still sites on the mountain, of course they are not operational today. About the adventure co side, We are an adrenaline pumping ATV and SXS park with 25+ miles of mountainous trails at four skill levels; Green (Easy), Blue (Challenging), Black Diamond (Very Difficult) and Double Black Diamond (Most Difficult). You can bring your own ATV or SXS or rent one of ours. We have cabins & camp sites that are accessed by ATV or SXS on the mountains as well as hiking or biking. We do not allow jeeps, trucks or dirt bike motorcycles on the mountain, just ATV's and SXS vehicles.

Casa Nola

1 site · Lodging3 acres · Weaverville, NC
Homesteaders, nature lovers, two and four legged beast tamers and huge fans of laughing. We are a reasonably crunchy family that relocated right outside Asheville NC to build our dream, sustainable, homesteading property and LOVE it. We are big foodies, trained in nutrition, world traveled and a conscientious, mindful familyLearn more about this land:The tiny house was built with a lot of love and a bohemain flare in mind. It is an upscale glamping experience with electricity, a super comfortable Queen sized memory foam bed encased in a mattress protector, small efficiency kitchen to prepare light meals and a huge outdoor deck and outdoor compostable flushing toilet. There is no shower at this time, so please check back if this is a deal breaker for you, as we are in the process of configuring an outdoor shower. We are always working on the landscape, but it is reasonably organic (read as wild!)- tons of berries, fruit trees, nut trees and grapes during the warmer months, which you are welcome to explore and pick! We hope to have this transformed by next year and are committed to organic permaculture. We provide filtered gravity fed spring water in the kitchenette, which is some of the purest to drink and mineralize your body with. The sink is plumbed in, but there is no hot or running water besides the 5 gallon glass jug that sits atop the sink. The tiny house is across from our art studio and up the hill from our main house and other rental 'The Cottage at Casa Nola, so if you are looking for complete seclusion this may not be the best spot for you, as you may occasionally glimpse one of our four or two legged children :) That being said, we have worked to create upmost privacy in the tiny house and it feels worlds away from anyone! The entire property sits on 3 acres and is a mere 16 minute drive to downtown Asheville. You might see us coming or going, as we are a busy family, however we deeply respect your privacy and we recognize the fact you may be here to get away and are as unobtrusive hosts as possible! Our main house, cottage, tiny house and studio are all relatively close, but we’ve designed it for maximum privacy for all! That being said we are happy to help out with anything you might need, please just let us know, but otherwise we won’t bother you! The bed is a queen sized memory foam in a loft and requires climbing a very sturdy ladder, so please make sure you are agile enough to do this. The couch folds into a twin bed if need be, but is far less comfortable than the loft.***PETS***We are pet friendly and would like to remain that way, so we ask if you are bringing a pet, to be a responsible, rule abiding pet owner. If you would like to bring your pet, please send us a request beforehand with pet breed, size and age along with acknowledgement that you have read pet rules. We charge a non-refundable $50 pet fee per pet.Pets CANNOT at any time be left unattended. We offer an additional low-fee pet sitting service, please contact us if you’d like more information as we have a separate site. We ask that only well behaved, fully house trained, non-aggressive pets stay, so we can remain a pet friendly space for other people. Please do clean up after your pet. We do have our own dogs on the other side of the fence and kids, so please no animals that will be a problem for. There are some trails in the back of the property that can be walked as well as a long dirt road. Please read full pet rules, in rules section. We do our best to keep the tiny house stocked with housewares and extra goodies to make your stay more comfortable. If it is there, you are welcome to use it. There is an electric tea kettle, mini- fridge, hot plate and french press. It is fully stocked with dishware and pans along with coffee, tea and simple meal prep condiments. The deck is absolutely huge and in general our property is amazing for star gazing! There is a window fan in the top of the lofts to circulate air, a stand up AC in the warm months and small space heater in the colder monthsWe hope that you will love the space and the area as much as we do! We recently relocated here and it’s been the best decision ever! Great weather, food, art, fun and people! We are proud to be LGBQ friendly and don’t discriminate based on race, gender or religion. The only thing we discriminate against are people who hurt children or animals, because hey-that’s not cool!

Glamping at the Chapel

1 site · Lodging50 acres · Murphy, NC
Secluded 48 acres in Murphy (about 16 minutes to downtown). Near: John C. Campbell Folk School (about 12 minutes away); Nantahala River (about 35 minutes away). Friendly dog and cat (they live at my house, but may come to the chapel for a visit). Roam the property and swim in the spring fed pond. If you are a camper or want to try "camping," then you will love "glamping" ("glamorous camping") at the chapel! Read more about "glamping" and the chapel's features below. The space My vision is that my property (which I've named "Kingdom Come") would be a place of rest, retreat, and enjoyment for others. I am going to build a few cabins for lodging, but my first major project was building a chapel, so that it would be the centerpiece and heartbeat: a place for reflection, meditation, and prayer. I built the chapel myself (with my own hands, and the hands of a couple of friends). As I work on building the cabins, I have decided to use the chapel as a glamping site (better than using it as a "divine" storage building!). My mother was an artist and when she died I ended up with a lot of her artwork. Some of her paintings now fill the chapel. They also fill the space, I hope, with her grace and love and creativity. The chapel features beautiful timber frame construction. As to "glamping" . . . there is no running water/plumbing, but you'll have all the fresh water you need for showers, drinking, etc. Limited electricity for running the kitchen appliances. No AC, of course, but the fan will keep it comfortable in warm weather. As to cold weather, the chapel has an electric heater that keeps it fairly comfortable in cold weather: not blazing hot, but comfortable, unless it gets VERY cold; then, the heater just takes off some of the chill. Zinus Ultima Comfort Memory Foam 6 Inch mattresses are very comfortable! Using the outdoor solar/camp shower is wonderful. The privy is clean and well-ventilated. Appliances: fan; toaster oven; microwave oven; coffee maker; and, small micro-fridge. Lighting is provided by four rechargeable lanterns. Screens on the windows and door to keep the bugs at bay. Outdoor deck features comfortable Adirondack chairs, a Weber charcoal grill, and a fire pit for campfires. I'll provide you with wood (on a donation basis . . . pay what you like) campfires. Matches and paper provided, too, to help get the fire started. The play area offers opportunities limited only by your imagination. Sunbathing? Stargazing? Badminton and Bocce balls provided if you want to play! AT THE CHAPEL YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH: Towels and wash clothes Sheets, pillow cases and blankets Coffee filters Salt and Pepper Soap for washing Dinnerware (including knives, forks, and spoons) for four Paper plates and disposable knives, forks, and spoons Toilet paper Paper towels Plenty of water for drinking, washing, and bathing YOU MAY WISH TO BRING: Charcoal, if you want to use the grill Learn more about this land: Secluded 48 acres in Murphy (about 16 minutes to downtown).
