Make a temporary home in the forest in a Camp Sherman cabin.
Just outside the small Central Oregon city of Sisters, on the Banks of the Metolius River, Camp Sherman is a small vacation town that's been welcoming throngs of visitors in the summer months since the Victorian era. This compact community in the Deschutes National Forest is characterized by the lush scenery that rainy Oregon is typically known for and the warm, dry temperatures common to central and eastern Oregon. While the Forest Service-managed Camp Sherman Campground is limited to just a few tent and RV sites, you'll find privately owned cabin rentals nearby, both in Camp Sherman and in surrounding communities, many of which feature kitchenettes, full bathrooms, free wifi, and hot tubs. Just be sure to book early for cabins and vacation rentals, particularly if you want to visit between Labor Day and Memorial Day, when temperatures are consistently in the 70s and the chance of rain is slim.
