We are located on what used to be one of the stagecoach stops on the Applegate Trail. With 80 acres of land to spread out on you can be sure to find a peaceful and private getaway with amazing views. 
This property holds some interesting history with a Trading tree where swap meets between the local native tribes would gather and bring their firs and other goods to trade with the white traders of the time.

Learn more about this land:Pitch Your tent in a beautiful mountain forest with a year-round creek you can kayak and swim.   Beautiful Madrone trees.  Lots of wildlife.   You have access to fire pits and firewood that you can collect off the property however Only when fire season is not in effect.  Lots of hiking trails and places to off-road as well if you want to bring your toys along.   Located just 9 miles off I-5.        there is  train tracks close by don’t be alarmed, it goes by at night about once a week so it’s a roll of the dice if you hear it. Though I find it soothing Clickety clack Clickety-clack.    There is a few historical sites nearby.   Beautiful country but A  disclaimer There is poison oak in the forest.  working on eradication on my property at least :) until then stick to the paths and designated campsites I will post a picture for a identifier. Deer Creek House

Isis and my paternal grandma are in charge here. snowmeggedons and floods keep changing the landscape. Deer Creek along south boundary, with county on opposite side with forested hillside, provides much wildlife viewing.   Tents and small vans have sweet spots, larger RVs get the driveway. Many find this a perfect 1/2 way sleepover between seattle/san fran, and base to visit Wildlife Safari, Crater Lake.

1894 farmhouse on 1+ acre (2 miles from exit 124 from I-5) within "city" limits, at the edge of rural county seat faces the original road to Crater Lake (85 mi), Umpqua Hot Springs (59 mi), Pacific Crest Trail. The area has: North Umpqua River and her many waterfalls, world class flyfishing ; white water rafting. Wine Wine Wine.  local breweries, a meadery, live music, smoke shops.  an hour to pacific ocean.  hooking up to electricity or water hose is extra $$/night. please contact me for specifics for those with live in vans, or optionals. blessings and stay safe on your travels. road conditions and webcams in oregon are at tripcheck.com.  Occasionally check in may be later than 2p. The fire pit...wasn't able to have a fire this time because it's fire season, but I imagine it would be awesome at this spot! 

If you just sit for awhile, you will most likely see deer walk by! 

The tree provided a great amount of shade!

Dancing Creek Farm

In 1948 a wildfire came thru what then was a mixed forest of spars old growth conifers, evergreen and deciduous broadleaf trees burning intensely enough to render the entire area to primarily grassland. Today it is quickly returning to primarily mixed forest, recovering the ability to hold water at cooler temperatures as it once did.

Nestled on the south slope of Dickinson Mountain it offers plenty of sunshine yet some of the best cool freshwater to be found anywhere. Although much of this paradise is considerably steep there are ample cow and goat trails to make exploring extremely enjoyable.

Bachelor Creek which runs thru approximately 1/2 mile of the Southeast portion is home to beaver, cutthroat, western pond turtles, great blue heron, and many other wildlife.

There is a pair of resident Redtail hawks, wild turkeys, deer, bobcat, coyote, cougar, mink, flying, silver grey, and pine squirrels, owls (sawhete, screach, Pigmy, barred, and great horned), and many others.

There are also many swimming holes on Bachelor Creek and a tributary we call Dancing creek, although they are all somewhat small the water is nice and refreshing for a quick dip on a warm day.

This is a working farm raising cattle, and chickens. On that note please don't feed any of the animals as they could become a real nuisance. If you are going to be leaving your camp for a hike or swim etc. please secure any food items to avoid a potential disaster.

The farm is 170 acres (a half mile by a half mile) and there is a fence all the way around it. Feel free to hike wherever, as long as you don't cross any fences you are still here.

You can take a dip in the creek where it comes out of the culvert below the road and there is a picnic table at each site as well as at the dipping hole.

Camp one located above a stream and the access road. Good sun with lots of trees. Room for at least three tents and or large wall tent.
