Your stay in the treehouse is off–grid, thoroughly insulated and heated by a wood-burning stove, also we do supply you with a Jackery 1000 lithium battery generator to power the shower, or to charge your phone or laptop. We also use a composting toilet for the cleanest and most environmentally sensitive relationship to the surroundings.
You will learn firsthand what off–grid glamping is like…and that includes a hot-water shower.
We will supply you with bed linens, towels, bath soap, shampoo, plates, cups, utensils, at least 2 1/2 gallons of fresh drinking water, pots and pans, grill utensils, salt and pepper, paper towels, a sink and dish soap, dish towels, toilet tissue, hand sanitizer, a camping percolating coffee pot, coffee cups, a flashlight, and some firewood (for the mini wood stove—see amenity limitations).
Mobile phone service is definitely adequate for working from a tree. :-)

Oh! Pear Orchards

Oh! Pear Orchards is nestled in the Endless Mountain Region in northeastern PA. Located on the fertile ground between two rivers, the orchard has several varieties of pears, including, but not limited to, Olympic Giants, Hosui, Bartlett, and 21st Century. In addition to selling Asian pears, Oh! Pear offers a look at a close-to-zero energy footprint. Within a half-hour of our campsites are the Merli-Sarnoski Park and the Lackawanna and Salt Springs State Parks--which offer hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Endless Brewing and EMR Event (Paintball) Park are also located nearby.  For a list of campsites, scroll further down!

Although our check-in process is generally to go straight to camp, if we're onsite, we do offer the option of a meet and greet. While we respect the privacy of our Hipcampers, we also love to meet our Guests and are very conversant if you choose to grab our ear!  If you forget something and we're on-site, let us know--we might just be able to help!

For Holidays and Special Events, we do require a 2-night minimum stay, there will be a cost of $20 for each additional Hipcamper and we operate under a SUPER STRICT Cancellation policy.

For non-Holiday/Special Event weekdays, we offer a 20% discount.

We limit to what we believe suitable the number of Hipcampers at each of our campsites. If, however, you are interested in adding to the limit, please feel free to contact us beforehand.

Campsites:

-HANNAH'S HAVEN:

This is our original campsite--which began our Oh! Pear camping legacy. The campsite is a short walk downhill from where you park (please refer to the short video provided, when booked, for more information) and it is remote. Rugged, majestic, and serene sites (3) are spatially set alongside the picturesque stream. Each site is outfitted with a Big Horn 47" Wood Burning Ranch Fire Pit (with grill grate), a picnic table and the potential for an outside adventure. Bounded on one side by an escarpment and on the other side a mountain, this campsite is irrevocably secluded--and has been voted the #1 Hipcamp site in PA and in the nation--as evidenced by the nearly perfect positive reviews from those adventurers who have stayed here.....and our many repeat Hipcampers.

-LIAM'S LAIR:

Surrounded by towering trees and dense foliage, Liam's Lair offers a sense of seclusion that is both rare and precious. The only sounds that permeate the air are the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze and the soothing murmur of the nearby stream, creating a symphony of serenity that lulls visitors into a state of peaceful reverie.

Here, amidst the solitude of the wilderness, one can truly disconnect from the chaos of modern society and reconnect with the natural world. Whether seeking quiet introspection or shared moments of camaraderie around the campfire, Liam's Lair provides a sanctuary where time seems to stand still, allowing guests to embrace the beauty of seclusion in its purest form.

Once known as the Middaugh Farm , this property produced Corn, Buckwheat, Pigs, Chickens, and White Clay.  Forced to sell off a northern 70 acre Tract, which is now off the Tax Roles and held by the DOI,  and other non contiguous properties to help maintain the remaining 268 acres, The streams host turtles, crayfish and minnoes.  Deer , Rabbits, Squirrels, Foxes, Chipmunks, Coyotes (not the immigration kind, ) and the occasional Black Bear occupy the area. Named after my Father, who passed October 09 2017.  It is my goal to keep the property undeveloped, and ON the tax rolls through funding via access to members who enjoy the Dwindling Great Outdoors.  I hope to keep this in the family for a few more generations, while sharing the beauty and abundance of nature with others who have little opportunity to experience what I have, growing up in Rural America.

Sunset Shore Cabin on Private Lake

This cabin has been in my family for over 40 years, and we love to share it's charm with the world!

Sleep like a log in our one-room charming cabin on a small private lake lot with non-motor boats only.
 Little Elk Lake is 43 acres.

Queen bed with linens provided, plus 2 adult cots with pads and sleeping bags.
 Rowboat plus 1 youth kayak, two adult kayaks and a canoe are available for your use, and we have life jackets in many sizes.

We are sorry but the pontoon boat cannot be used by guests. The fishing is EXCELLENT and bring your binoculars - BALD EAGLES frequent the lake!

We want you to have so much FUN during your visit, but we are not a party spot.
 The lake is rural and quiet, and so we must request low noise levels after 10 pm in order to keep our neighborhood HAPPY!

Games, coloring books and drawing paper, etc. are in the cabin.

ALSO NEW -
We have cold and HOT water at the kitchen sink and a large private outdoor shower/changing room. We ask guests to conserve water since we are hauling water and pumping it into a 275-gallon outdoor tank.

 Boat rental is available at Susquehanna Kayak & Canoe Rentals in Falls, PA. Please don't remove our kayaks from the property though.

 The Artist's Open House Tour is FREE and is Columbus Day Weekend annually. Most of these art studios are open YEAR ROUND by appointment. Our favorite shop is #8, Chris Lathrop, who is also the closest,
less than 10 minutes away (you'll also see some of her work in the cabin). Call her and schedule a watercolor class!

Wine! ... and Beer! We are so lucky to have many locals within a short drive. Check out Nimble Hill Vineyard and Winery and Nimble Hill Brewery, Endless Brewing, Grovedale Winery, Pickering Winery, Antler Ridge Winery, and Hidden Creek Vineyard & Winery. Wine is also available for
2-day delivery on the INSTACART app.

Hiking - So many options. Closest only 5 minutes away is Woodbourne Forest & Wildlife Preserve, but many others such as Salt Springs State Park, Keystone College, Lackawanna State Park. Just google it!

Creekside Gardens! We LOVE plants. Our favorite garden center, located 30 minutes away in Tunkhannock, offers many fun garden, craft, and decorating
activities each weekend. They raise thousands of BUTTERFLIES which you may visit or if you're lucky they may have a butterfly release scheduled when you are here. In late summer you may even purchase a cocoon that's ready to hatch!

Comfortable  queen bed with linens included.  Two large adult cots, sleeping pads, and sleeping bags included to accomodate 4 people.  Tent and additional adult cot plus one child cot available for a fee.

New in August '20!  A real faucet with cold AND hot water at the kitchen sink.  We are hauling water in by truck so we ask that everyone CONSERVE :)
