2 nights at Off-Grid Catskills

The woodfire stove in the yurt was to die for - the skylight view was amazing, especially during a bout of snow. The land was quiet, beautiful, and close enough to drive to anything you needed quickly. The sounds of nature existing around you pour through the yurt, run through it like water through a stream, pulling you closer to it and dissolving the separation of yourself from it. While easy to use your phone, perhaps consider a time to put it down and be with yourself, your loved one(s), and to step back from the onslaught of technology and back to a time of just existing - of talking truly, of writing, of reading, of pondering, of meditating, of experiencing the world the way it was meant to be - with your true senses, not with distractions of the modern world, or the onslaught of awful happenings in the world.

This place was absolutely amazing !!! Marty was so accommodating and so kind! The property and the views are absolutely stunning ! If I could live here I would ! I can’t wait to go back over and over again ! The homes are filled with everything you would need ! It’s a great spot to recharge and declutter your mind ! Thank you Marty for an AMAZING TIME !!!

Always love camping here! Kathleen is extremely friendly and helpful and the site is always beautiful and well-maintained. Nice play area with lots of toys for my toddlers, lovely little hikes around the site -- no need to leave!

It was very nice and convenient stayinf on Kathy’s land. There were plenty of campsites and wood was available on site. I would stay there again.

Can't wait to go back! The grounds were great and well labeled. Accurate description of the site. There is a dirt road leading to the site. Our host greeted us and explained the trails on the property. We did the waterfall hike and pond, we saw a river otter. The host was so friendly and helpful. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. Our dog loved all the smells of the woods.

Excellent location for its proximity to busy areas of NJ and NY. One hour drive from when I live in central NJ and had a great night camping. The grounds were taken care of and there are great short trails to walk. Even a nice stream with a small waterfall.

I had camp 6. It was my first time camping. I pulled my car right up to the campsite and had a campfire from right outside my car. Was quiet and serene. I enjoyed looking at all the signs on the trees.

Paradise Valley is a great spot to get away, without having to drive for hours. You are in the woods enjoying nature and beautiful surroundings, but not too far from the outside world, if you need anything. All of the sites are level for at least 2 tents and each is unique. Kathleen is a fantastic host. Accomodating and always available to answer any questions you might have. #devitoapproved

I stayed at camp 6. Was able to pull in with a regular size car. Stayed 2 nights. I loved walking around seeing the signs on all the trees.

The campsite is about 2 miles off road. Sedans, go slow! The campsites are huge. Very spacious & plenty of tree if you decide to Hammock camp. Owner Kathleen is super friendy. Shes very helpful & l will make.you feel at home. If you're thinking of Hot tenting, this place is it. Kathleen allows it. Very happy with this Campground.

I stayed when everything was frozen and the ground covered in Snow/Ice so did not get to see much, but was greeted as soon as I pulled in and was offered any site as I was the only one camping that night. It was semi-secluded, with a great little Irish pub down the road a bit. They also have a good supply of firewood available.

The perfect spot to get away while not being too far from home. 2nd time hot tenting at this spot and it was perfect. Kathleen is an excellent host. Each site is well maintained. My wife and I will definitely be staying at this site again.

Always working on improvements! My second glamping site "The Medieval Encampment", is available for booking starting April 1st of 2025. I will have more pictures soon. In April of 2024, my long awaited 1st Glamping site was available for booking. It's been very popular! Please read the description carefully of the "Gypsy Rose Vardo", to see if it's the right fit for you. I also have 10 large camping sites available on our 33 acre property located in Northwest NJ. Sites 1 through 4 are on mowed, fairly level fields and are large enough for campers or RV's up to 30ft, or a couple of tents, and sites 5 and 6 are further back in the woods, available only for a few small tents, sites 7 through 10 are much further into the property and are only accessible with a high clearance AWD or 4WD SUV or you can park and hike your gear in. There are 3 compost toilet outhouses spread out through the property, so it's an easy walking distance from any site. Although we are only 2 1/2 miles from a main highway, the last 2 miles are on a dirt road with no houses. We are surrounded by protected land, so no neighbors and lots of wildlife, including the occasional bear, coyote or raccoon. Keep all food items secured. Because we are surrounded by protected land we are not sprayed for insects, so be safe and do tick checks often and bring the bug spray. We are 45 minutes from NYC or the Delaware Water Gap and an hour away from the NJ shore. There are horse farms nearby that offer trail rides. We are also close to the Highland and Appalachian Hiking trails. There are two reservoirs within a 20-minute drive for canoeing or kayaking. There are walking trails through our property, including a ten-minute hike on a marked trail to a small waterfall in a ravine.

The River's Edge

The River's Edge campsites sit on the shoreline of the Delaware River at the western edge of New York State overlooking the mountains of Pennsylvania. Our canvas tents and open air platforms perch between the river and the former Delaware & Hudson Canal which was once was used to transport raw goods by barge to New York City via the 'port' of Port Jervis. The remnants of the canal walls are throughout the property including a 300 person theater which we created to both preserve and feature this industrial history. It also makes a great place for an event or a movie night. Today, the original canal towpath, along which barges would be pulled and floated downstream, is a trail that links all of the campsites over 5 acres and at the furthest end an eel fishing camp that is in operation from June to October (say 'hi' to Jim). In the early 1900s, the train replaced the canal as the primary method of moving goods into New York and if you are lucky — you will hear the train rumble by along the river on the Pennsylvania side. There is something spectacular in the absolute still and grandness of the river, the mountains and the ongoing industrial history of the valley. It is a reminder of the way things used to be. The farmhouse and cabins are located opposite the campsites on other side of route 97. Next to them are 50 acres of wild forest to hike and explore. These accommodations are great for guests who want more amenities but still with easy access to river. Pair campsites and cabins so that all your guests have their best experience. a largely off-the-grid, truly unique, 420-friendly cabin and YURT in beautiful Livingston Manor. A ‘tiny house’ with every conceivable amenity—full kitchen, hot shower, indoor toilet, woodstove, spacious living room, enormous sleeping loft, speakers for your music, excellent wi-fi—thoughtfully arranged to maximize space and ease of use. The house is at the end of a shale road on a blueberry orchard. Guests are invited to pick all the fruit they like. The hillside’s high elevation provides an oasis of cooler temperatures during every summer heat wave. The panoramic view of the Catskills from the front porch has to be seen to be appreciated. across the property, smack in the middle of the blueberry bushes, is the latest addition to our eco-getaway: a YURT. World class hiking, swimming, camping, and fishing is even closer. (Camping and hiking gear provided.) perhaps most importantly, our place offers more than a getaway. Guests learn how hygienic a composting toilet is, how easily a spring provides water for one’s home, the joys of heating with wood, etc. A few days on the blueberry patch is both a rewarding glimpse of the sustainable life and an invaluable education in how comfortable a small house can be. If you’re considering procuring your own, spending time in one of ours will help you decide if such a home is right for you.
