Weekend Trip to Serenity on the Saluda

This was me and my boyfriend’s first time camping and we absolutely loved camping on John’s property! He was very kind and helpful. Very spacious and private area. There is a lot of space and privacy between you and the RV/Tent camp site. There are a couple spots to fish and the river was so calm and peaceful. This was the perfect campsite, and even for us rookies it was the perfect amount of primitive. The outhouse was clean and well kept as well. It’s closer to the Tent Site than the RV/Tent site if you are wondering. Less than 10 minutes to town if there’s anything that you forgot to bring. We loved it and are already ready to go back!

We had a great time tent camping by the river. Pet friendly place. Clean bathhouse, and owner available on site if needed. The campsite was beautiful and so peaceful.

We had the best time relaxing right by the river ! You couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful spot! We really enjoyed walking the trail! I loved the little outhouse right by our tent site! We also loved hanging out with the sweet dog, she was the cutest! John was a great host! Thanks for sharing your peaceful property with us!! We can’t wait to come back in the summer!

Great Location and close to highway. Easy set-up with electric. Pretty view of woods. Some nearby neighbors are visable but not an issue. We would book again.

We loved staying at the Quack shack, and had lots of fun learning about the pottery studio and natural building that Nick does :) would love to stay again!

3 nights at Camp Clatworthy

It rained and our suv struggled up the muddy road to the site but we eventually made it there was lots of firewood and it was quite secluded we kayaked that was cool - he let us borrow two of them 5 stars

7 nights at Broken Oak Riverside Getaway

Nice people to deal with , no issues except the weather lol. My family has had a great time camping at this beautiful spot. Thanks to our hosts for all the help . Will be back

We had a wonderful stay here, everything was just perfect! Did some paddling and fishing and lots of relaxing. Awesome spot and an awesome host, planning our next trip already!

This structure is so well-designed and the hot tea/coffee available and wood fired hot tub made it extra special! We propped open the siding and my son read a book while I cooked our dinner in the chiminea on the deck - so lovely.

Great camp site by the river, secluded and peaceful. The host had everything ready for us when we arrived. It was a wonderful night stargazing and listening to the river. Thanks for sharing your wonderful spot by the river.

1 night at The Quack Shack

We had a great time at the Quack Shack!! Nick was super nice and met us at his pottery studio to show us around and then we had the place to ourselves all night. He was kind enough to leave us with scrap wood to make a fire in the chimnea!!! Everything was clean and the A-frame was super cozy. Absolutely wonderful glamping experience complete with two heaters to keep us warm all night, nearby bathrooms, and a stocked coffee/tea bar. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to friends!

I enjoyed camping on the river at Site #2. It was quiet and exactly what I needed. Having close access to water and a bathroom for primitive camping was really nice. I will return.

The river sites are separated by a small patch of woods, so if you are looking for complete privacy, Hill Top or Hill Side is the place to go. Please follow the "arrival instructions" as most GPS directions are not accurate. 30 minutes to Diamond Hill Mine, 15 minutes to The Shoals MX.

The North saluda River is just a few short steps away from the front door of your tent. Enjoy a fire pit and white sandy beaches on the edge of the river, then retreat to a 20 foot level tent site, with a picnic table. Several miles of trails, dirt roads and streams wind through hundreds of acres which you are free to explore. The property has been owned by members of our family for 75 years or more with areas of it family-owned since the 1800's. A large portion of the property is dedicated to sustainable loblolly pine forests dating back to the 1980's. A significant area of the property is dedicated to native hardwood forest and has some of the oldest and largest white oak, poplar, elm and shortleaf pines in the upstate. The remainder of the property is pasture; home to Black Angus cattle. We look forward to sharing this unique property with you!
