Love tanglewood creekside campsites! I have stayed there a couple times and absolutely love it. It's a great place to relax and unwind, and absolutely beautiful! The owners are so kind and helpful. 10/10 recommend.

Blair’s piece of land is a piece of heaven. Everything is so clean and clearly cared for. I stayed in a safari tent solo and felt safe. I’ve been camping in many places all over the country and this is in my top favorites. I will say if you are looking for true seclusion, you’d be able to see other campers (if they’re there) and once in a while you can hear a car go by. But it’s quiet and peaceful and for me, someone who loves being “off grid”, it was wonderful. If I’m ever back in the area I will absolutely 100% return! Thank you Blair for everything.

Im usually more of a primitive camper, but at the end of a long trip, it was really nice to have some shelter. And what a view! Easy to manage dogs here with the door and gate. Highly recommend as a great place to just relax!

I loved camping so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campsite is well situated between the Parkway and Brevard. The site was very quiet and peaceful with the sound of the river right next to our site. We stayed at site 6. Tom, our host, was very kind and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us great local information about great places to see!

Weekend Trip to Raven Ridge

This place was the perfect weekend retreat. The place felt peaceful and silent—perfect for disconnecting and recharging. There’s a hill right next to the house where you can catch an amazing sunrise and sunset—the view of the Appalachian Mountains turning purple with the sunset light was beautiful. Mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee were my favorite—fresh air, a ton of birds singing, and total calm. At night, the sky was full of stars, perfect for stargazing. The house is really cozy and gives you that feeling of getting back to the basics and simple things of life. The Turkish oven was a fun and different experience for us, and the host, James, along with the people in the community, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back!

It was beautiful scenery, dog friendly and quiet. Great place to relax and leave stress behind for a few days.

Falling asleep to the sound of the creek was so relaxing. The light pollution is very minimal so you can see so many stars and the planets! The creekside safari tent is always perfect and the daffodils are so pretty! Can’t wait to get back!

We had a great time. We loved having the animals come up to the fence and interact with us. The spot is not level so just know you will need leveling supplies. Loved our visit.

3 nights at Above the Fray Glamping, Black Mtn.

Beautiful view and great idea for solo camping and feel of safety with locked door and fenced off walkways. Considering the road is being repaired because FEMA finds finally arrived- prepare for short delays which cannot be avoided. Also, die to road in- spot pots haven’t been pumped and just don’t look down and hold your breath. But- again- truck can’t possibly get there safely IMO- But- the view and the quiet (I had no fellow campers during my stay- and extended twice just because it’s so healing’ My lab and I weathered some strong winds, but never felt unsafe. Whippoorwills sing you to sleep and wake you early in the morning. Sky shows lots of things I can’t see at home due to light pollution. Just a perfect place to get away from all the things that are negative and worrisome. This place is healing. In the middle of all the hurricane related destruction, there is still good and peace if we look for it. I found it on Black Mountain.

Weekend Trip to Adin`s river cabin

Adin is an awesome host and very accommodating. The cabin is just perfect and the privacy is unmatched. If you want to unplug and just enjoy, this is the place to be. Our doggo had so much fun running around and exploring.

4 nights at At the Ridge Camp-Riverside Escapes

Great spot right on the river! We had a great time at At the Ridge Camp- Riverside Escapes. We are a family of 5 & stayed in cabin #2. It is a rustic camping cabin but was clean, spacious enough for all of us to sleep comfortably & had electricity. The showers were HOT & Tom made sure we had everything needed. They are still rebuilding from Helene but are definitely up & ready for campers! We will definitely be back.

1 night at Raven Ridge

This was such a cool spot! The cow was so nice and came up to greet us as soon as we arrived. The cabin is very cozy and has everything you need to cook a meal, including a small electric stovetop (although we ended up cooking with our skillet over the fire). The bed upstairs is incredibly comfortable and we got some of the best sleep we've had in a while. The weather was perfect when we were there, so we didn't need them, but there is a large space heater and window a/c unit if you're cold/hot. Beautiful property nestled in the hills, a really nice drive through winding mountain roads, and great scenery all around. Would love to come back sometime!

1 night at Raven Ridge

We stayed at Hilltop Cabin as our first stop on a week long road trip from Baltimore to Austin. It was so great to stay somewhere peaceful and beautiful after being in the car all day, and our pup could play and stretch her legs! We were even able to duck into Asheville for dinner when we arrived and for breakfast the next morning as we had never been! The bed was super comfy and the cabin had everything we needed to relax before getting back on the road. Our hosts were friendly and i’m sure would have been accommodating should we have needed anything, but the cabin was perfect and we were totally set as is! Our dog and the cow, Kashi, also started a beautiful friendship. Would love to come back one day :-) Thank you!

We loved our stay at the Little Cabin! My boys loved playing in the creek and exploring the property. They have done so much work after Helene and it’s looking great! Very close to gem mining and we enjoyed hiking to Tom’s Creek Falls. Blair was very helpful and accommodating. My husband had to work at the Starlink worked perfectly from the cabin. The views are hypnotic and look down and out over the continental divide. Good morning sun and sunsets can be seen in the same spot. Your car is parked within feet of your deck so Car Campers and experienced campers can enjoy. Designed with campers and dogs in mind. The deck is large (384 square feet) with a tin roof. Some roofs are full size, some 2/3rds and some 1/3rd, depending on what one wants for tent size or sun exposure. (See pictures of each site/deck) Each deck has sun and rain curtains for helping keep comfortable in normal weather. Dogs enjoy a two gate system so quests and dogs can be leash free and away from the road. All dog owners know to pick up after their pets. The human Private Porta John is cleaned weekly. Lights and electrical is 110V (3 prongs) for YOUR coffee pots, electric grills, mattress inflators, crockpots, electric blankets fans, etc. I do not provide any electrical appliances, other than counter area lighting and low level string lights so one can see the night sky. Many of my campers will "Pay it Forward" and leave coffee pots, hot plates, fans and such, so count yourself lucky to find a deck with them. I provide chairs, 5 gallons of fresh water in containers, fickle solar shower and pop up changing room along with an assortment of camping supplies from dog bowls to antimicrobial wipes. I provide various size garbage bags to manage your garbage. Your parking area is next to the deck. Black Mountain’s tasty restaurants are 4 miles away and All Trails is a great app for finding trails suited for your interest. Be respectful to the place and please be friendly to the people you meet. Learn more about this land: Private Glamping Decks with a view that pictures do not do justice. Private decks on a dead-end gravel road mean hopefully the sounds will only be of nature. The conveniences of electricity, porta john, water, chairs, table, roof, cleaning supplies, rain curtains, and astounding views have my Glampers coming back often. Designed with Dogs in mind with a two-gate system and no need for a leash when on the deck. Obnoxious, barking dogs are not welcome, so bring only controlled and well socialized dogs. Help me keep it dog friendly. Never block the road with a park car.

Hilltop was a joint project that James built in 2012 with a talented woodworker and friend in 6 months of saturdays for less than $5k. We have maintained the original vibe of the place, rustic simplicity and elegance a notch or two above glamping, well-described by the zen koan, "chop wood, carry water" Orchard House was built entirely by James from the block up to the roof, averaging 1 hour/day for 3 years or 1,000 hours. Some of the Hilltop photos are a bit dated, we have a more private outhouse behind the cabin, and have made a few improvements here and there. Reach out anytime for any reason. We love hosting and nearly everyone enjoys their stay.

Adin`s river cabin

My property consists of a ridge running east to west with the access road running along the south border. the land slopes up to the ridge for about 300 feet, and then down to the river for about 800 feet. The south side of the ridge has a small pond close to the road. The rest is pasture, and an orchard and small vineyard. The north side of the ridge is old growth timber, and shady and cool. The two cabins are along the river. One is perched on a ridge over looking the river and the other is right on the river. The swimming hole is 30 feet from the lower cabin. There is room for a couple campsites along the river also. The south side of the ridge was a cotton farm decades ago, but was covered in timber when I bought it 12 years ago. The north side has been in timber for the known history of the property.

I sleep a lot on the day bed in the living room so the Sawmill can be comfortably rented for up to 4 guests. The outhouse is a thing of the past, just recently I installed a compositing toilet besides the bedroom.We also offer The Summit which is a high elevation, 2-story cabin surrounded by national forest which has evolved into an off-grid living and play space located at nearly 3300 feet elevation on a 1/2 acre flat with an incredible view. There are very private old forest service trails leading directly into the Pisgah National Forest.

This immaculate small cabin near Asheville is ready to treat you to a luxurious retreat experience. We are located only 15 minutes from Asheville and a few miles from the parkway, surrounded by 14 acres of forest. There is a private hot tub that is all yours! Sauna available upon request. Professional massage therapist onsite as well. The house is hand crafted with unique creative touches for your delight. We look forward to having you! This home was built in 2019 by an expert craftsman with the vision of making it cozy and spacious with sweet artistic details and lots of care and love. The home is 300 sq feet but feels much more grand inside. You will be nestled on 14 pristine acres of forest, with two decks, your own personal private hot tub, and a spring fed creek not too far down the driveway. There is a gas fireplace outdoors on the porch, and an outdoor fire pit for your use as well. The house has a queen size bed in the upper loft, a large twin day bed on the first level, and an extra loft with camping mats if needed above the day bed. The house can comfortably sleep 3 and up to 4 or 5 especially if a couple of them are children or petite people. The house has a full kitchen and bathroom, living room area and two lofts. For now there is a composting toilet that is easy to maintain and we are happy to help you with it if you’re on the land for more than a few days. The main house is about 30 yards up the hill, and although somewhat close, you will have plenty of privacy. We are close if you need us, but we try to give all of our guests ultimate privacy. The house is under a huge magnolia tree, so it stays shaded in the summer and quite cool. There is an AC unit and heaters in the house as well. There is a personal hot tub, which is screened in, and located on the front deck of the house now. You will love it! There is a back deck that is only for meditation, yoga, and bird watching, and we ask that folks stay silent on the back deck if they use it. Pets are welcome at an extra charge of $40 a night. If anything is needed down at the house we are available. Much of the time there is a massage therapist on site, so if you are interested in getting Bodywork please just inquire about prices and availability. There is also a wood-fired sauna on the property, so if you would like to sauna please let us know. And an added bonus is that you are only 5 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway and LOTS of great hiking, great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, art galleries and more. Asheville is 15 minutes from the tiny cabin and Weaverville is 10 minutes away. On any given day you might see a family a deer, turkeys or bears in the front yard. There is a spring fed creek on the edge of the property you are welcome to soak your feet in, and there is incredible hiking just a few miles away. You are welcome to explore the 13 acres of property as well that the home is located on. This is not a place for parties. Our neighbors are about 200 yards down the hill so we try to respect their privacy and keep it quiet. That is why we have made the back deck a retreat/silent deck. Maximum of 4 guests.

WINTER BOOKINGS: Our driveway may be impassible during winter weather and we recommend snow tires, snow chains, and/or 4x4 during the winter months due to ice. We do shut down the running water during the winter to prevent the pipes from freezing. We will provide guests with 5 gallon drinking jugs with a dispenser to use, and the toilet still has water to flush. But the shower, sink, tub, hose, and bidet will be shut down during these months. If you want the true off-grid experience this is it ;) We do require guests to e-sign our rental agreement that we will email to you, and request a $300 security deposit hold (not a charge) that we will release upon checkout. This is just a precaution for us letting people we don't know stay at our place and respecting it.
