The Falls at Sewanee Creek

11 sites · Lodging, Tents45 acres · Tracy City, TN
45 private acres on our homestead for you to roam. Seven eclectic sites to choose from ranging from primitive camping to a lovely log cabin. All except the log cabin lovingly built by the owner, loaded with creative touches. Featuring: * Two gorgeous waterfalls. Each of our stay-sites are located within about 100-150 yards of Fifty-foot tall Miller’s Falls. * A large cave at the end of a short, but rugged hike. * A fairy Village filled with Hollow Oak Tree Fairy homes. The trees glow after dark. Magical. * Three acres for group camping centered on a well-equipped, covered outdoor kitchen. * Peaceful Meditation Retreats at the Outdoor Kitchen under brain-wave enhancing satellite dishes. * Certified Hypnotherapy Disclaimer: The flow of the waterfall is subject to fluctuations in temperature, seasonal droughts, & rain fall. The most favorable seasons for waterfall flow are fall, winter & early spring. We came to this magical place to found a self-reliant, homesteading eco-community when I retired from corporate life in 2006. It's called the Village on Sewanee Creek, named for the creek 800 feet below the bluff where we are located. I traveled the world as a senior executive for Baskin-Robbins, Dunkin' Donuts, Papa Johns, Blockbuster, 7-Eleven and other retail franchises, making the world safe for Pizza, Ice Cream, Pancakes Video Rentals and American convenience. And I was ready for something more fufilling. I scouted for a place of exquisite natural beauty and I found it here. I bought way too much land just before the real estate bust and learned how to turn a nice fortune into a very small one. I faced challenges and had lots of fun. Now I want to share our experience. It's the Village 2.0 for guests. Or not. Life in the city is OK as long as you can get away frequently. I'm convinced if you love nature and the outdoors, this is the best place to celebrate it.

Glamping at Deer Camp Cabin

1 site · Lodging13 acres · Dunlap, TN
We build from the heart with blue prints and Deer Camp was a thought that started on the back of a receipt and grew into a 12x12 cozy cabin. We have 13 acres and we share with that Deer Camp. Only enough land has been cleared for structures so it's all wooded and every structure was built by us and is unique and one of a kind.

In the Trees #wallofwindows #love

1 site · Lodging6 acres · Doyle, TN
The Treehouse is privately situated on 5 acres of woodlands and pasture. The property is centrally located to some of the best state parks in Tennessee. They don’t call White Co. “The Land of Falling Water” for nothing. If you love the outdoors, you’re in luck. On a clear night, the stargazing is second to none. You’ll find hammocks and swings sprinkled throughout the woods as well as outdoor accent lighting. The Treehouse itself is a project that has been in the works for a few years. Inside you’ll find a wall of windows and most windows tell a story. The stained glass in the back walls came from Coppes Commons in Nappannee, IN. The great big yellow window was reclaimed from an old church in Franklin, TN. In the wall of windows, there are a couple of stained glass windows that were pulled from an old home in Chicago. Many of the others came from my Grandparent’s home. There’s some history here and we definitely love having that energy surround us. You’ll find a bar area with a large wine fridge and a bar sink. We have a keurig and provide plenty of KCups as well as teas, snacks and honey sticks. The studio has a King platform bed with great accent lighting beneath. Kick back after a long day in the 69” clawfoot soaking tub/with sprayer-we provide the goodies to take you through that amazing bath…big, cushy white towels, salts and robes too! Don’t worry, there’s a privacy curtain if you need it. Kick back at night, throw some music on the speaker, light a fire in the solo stove on the lower level deck and reconnect. Speaking of deck space, we have a french hammock one level down on the side deck. It’s perfect for reading a book or taking a nap or just dreaming. If you swing to the left, you’ll find a little perch to enjoy your coffee or do some birding. Follow the steps down to the lower deck and you’ll find a macrame swing, some zero gravity chairs and some comfy deck furniture…and a solo stove. Take the remote to the cafe lights with you and change the mood outside too. We are so excited to bring this dream to life and cannot wait to share it with you! ❤️ Steph and Rachel
