2 nights at Canopy Ridge Safari Tent

This was the perfect glamping experience. Cozy bedding, impeccable tent, and perfectly clean. We stayed in tent 1 and could not have been happier with all of our accomodations, the king bed was so comfortable, one of the best nights of sleep ever. Even during a major thunderstorm everything was cozy and dry. Highly recommend staying here anytime, can't wait till we come back again!

This spot was incredible! Amazing views to hike to in walking distance and the a-frame cabin was so lovely. Super clean and the host is the kindest soul. Offered to help with anything we needed! Will for sure be back!

Weekend Trip to Wilderwood Smoky Mountains

We had a wonderful stay in the tiny house & would definitely recommend it. Peaceful area, really cute cats, & plenty of amenities (firepit, coffee, showers w/ towels & shampoo, etc). Despite the size, the rooms felt spacious & the heater worked well even with cold nights. Only downside was the WiFi did not work during our stay. We found out once we arrived that a storm took it out, so hopefully this is a short term issue.

Book this! You will not regret it. The drive is fun - I absolutely loved Lynne’s property! The views are incredible. They thought of everything - hot coffee, towels, robes. Just stunning. We stayed in the tiny house and fell in love. There are also the sweetest cats on site that made our stay that much more special. Thank you Lynne! We will be coming back ❤️

Great Vibe, kinda cold last night. So glad they had a huge stack of firewood! Hike up to site was well marked and took 5 minutes. Great View, cruised by the creek in the morning, taking my fishing pole next time, should have booked this site for 2 nights. Remote but central to everything out here! Hosts were very responsive.

Weekend Trip to GlampKnox Canvas Campground

We enjoyed Tree Solo with our recent stay. The property is well kept and in a nice location, close to attractions in Knoxville yet wooded and private for those who want to stay in. I would recommend a more level location for the fire pit as it is sloped and cannot sit around the fire & maybe some fold up tables for inside to eat. Otherwise the place is great & peaceful. The mattress is the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on and I really want one for my home 😊

My partner and I had an excellent stay at Glampknox! Serene setting, comfortable accommodations, an easy commute to Knoxville and adorable critters at every turn. Would definitely recommend to anybody thinking outside the typical hotel box. We’ll be back again, for sure!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Black Fox Camping/Camper

The site itself was easy to get to, instructions were very clear. John was generous enough to leave tongs, a spatula, an axe, and a fire starter for our use. I had an amazing time staying here!

3 nights at GlampKnox Canvas Campground

The property was beautiful and the host did a great job communicating with us before/during our stay. Our family of 6 slept comfortably in the Grande tent. We enjoyed spending time by the fire pit during the day and in the evenings (be sure to either bring dry wood or purchase from the hosts). It was also fun to see the horses on our way in/out of the property - we stopped by multiple times to feed them treats we purchased from the hosts. While we did not mind one bit, it may be helpful to note that there are 2 other smaller tents in the same vicinity and a beautiful barn down the hill which was used for a wedding during our stay. Again, the hosts did a great job communicating this to us and were clear about anything that may impact our stay (noise, main entrance closure, limited access to venue bathrooms/outdooor shower). The location itself is just a few minutes from major gas stations, grocery stores, trailers (we recommend House Mountain, there are several trails at varying levels) and an indoor pickleball facility. We had a great time and will definitely be back again with our family!

2 nights at Wilderwood Smoky Mountains

We loved our stay in the tiny house! Super comfy bed, very convenient to have a kitchen w/ sink and fridge inside, and bathroom attached. Short walk to the showers, microwave area, etc. We stayed on a chilly March weekend and were kept warm with the provided space heater. Easy ~45 min drive to the sugarlands visitor center at the national park. Lynne was very communicative and kind - thanks for a wonderful stay!

3 nights at Twin Valley Horse Ranch

Where to begin? Our whole experience was just amazing!! Janice is an amazing host that gives you all info upfront and what you can expect and what she expects from you! I took myself and my 3 littles ages 8,5,and 3 we stayed from wed and left sat! Well I tell you my kids loved it I mean they cried when it was time to leave and already want to book it again! The animals are so friendly they loved playing and help take care of them 2 a day! We did the mini workshop and the horse workshop and the 2 oldest learned so much and had a blast! Ms.Jayden and ms. Janice are wonderful and patient. The kids fished and caught 6 blue gill to which I cleaned and cooked and ate! The views from the primitive cabin are amazing! It is exactly as described so I HIGHLY recommend backing light! There is a hike but so worth it! My kids are electronic kids(as are most) but never asked for them never cried for TV or power there is so much to do and wore them out each day! I highly recommend getting back to the basics it truly is an amazing experience! Thank you Ms. Janice for opening your ranch! Thank you Ms. Jayden for how wonderful you are with littles and sharing your knowledge and teaching them about horses and how to ride! Thank you both for your patients in letting them help feed twice a day they will forever cherish our time there and haven't stopped talking about it to everybody that will listen! We can't wait to come back!

We had a great experience ! Spot was nice and secluded and exactly as pictured. Really enjoyed meeting Janice and seeing all her animals. Wish we could have stayed two nights and really explored the property.

Mountainous glamping in Norris Lake guide

Overview

A 34,000-acre reservoir on the Powell and Clinch rivers, Norris Lake is 30 miles northwest of Knoxville. Campgrounds and marinas surround the lake, so access to watersports and fantastic bass fishing is a breeze for campers, while surrounding state parks spotlight East Tennessee’s mountain-and-river terrain and its Appalachian culture. The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) developed several of these state parks during the Great Depression, and CCC-built facilities are still in use today. Glamping options include farm sites, canvas tents, and tiny homes—and birdwatching and hiking are popular no matter where you stay nearby.

Anderson County

Campgrounds are scattered along the shoreline beside Norris Dam, which sits at the southwestern edge of the lake in Anderson County. Small towns with camping, glamping, and RV sites include Rocky Top, Norris, and Andersonville.

Norris Dam State Park

The 19 cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps at Norris Dam State Park merge Depression-era history with modern amenities. The sprawling lakefront park also has two campgrounds, both with tent and RV campsites. A marina and a Southern Appalachia museum are bonus highlights.

Big Ridge State Park

Lakeside campsites accommodate tents and RVs at Big Ridge State Park, another Depression-era park constructed by the TVA and the CCC. Watersports are popular here, but hikers have plenty of options too, with 15 miles of trails exploring the forests, hollows, and ridges. Campgrounds are also scattered across the towns of Maynardville and New Tazewell.

Knoxville

Tennessee’s capital and the home of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville is a convenient launchpad for campers looking to mix urban adventuring with paddling and fishing at Norris Lake. In Knoxville, ride the elevator to the observation area atop the soaring Sunsphere, then check out the quarry and the nature center inside the Urban Wilderness, a network of parks and multi-use trails scattered across the city. Campgrounds surround the downtown area.
