There is trails and a creek to hike there's fire pits camping is allowed RVs are allowed parties are allowed. Fieldsong Farm

In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners!

Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs.

 We farm organic vegetables,  and have planted some fruit trees.

We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state.

Come to Fieldsong Farm, absorb the peace and serenity, and leave refreshed!

 Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins.

 Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony.

 When the sun comes up, you'll have many choices to make--cycling, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddling, hiking, running, strolling, visiting with the goats, cats and chickens, helping with farm chores, or just sitting to enjoy the peace and serenity of the farm.

 There are many great shopping and eating choices withing 15 miles.

Breakfast will be brought to your campsite for an additional fee, booked in advance.

 Horse pasture rentals is available, also booked in advance.

 (We do not offer horseback riding,)  Eggs, local honey, seasonal veggies, baked goods artisan food products, goat milk products and firewood are available for sale.

 

No dirt bikes, ATVs or RTVs; no motorcycles except as transportation.  No discharge of firearms allowed.  No hunting, no bows and arrows, no fireworks.  Every camper group or RV group must have at least one person over 21 in the group.

We do not have any horses to rent or ride.

The dock is super cute - fishing poles, a canoe/oar, and relaxing lounge spots! 

Land Of OZ

Land Of OZ is a place of peace and beauty. If you love the sun shine through the trees and beautiful pond surrounded by nature this is the place for you to come. Active chicken coop and garden. This is where we are now but I would love to have your input while here on how to make it a great place for all to enjoy.

Land of Oz! Sidewalk around one pond with bate fishing and a nice dock to sit and enjoy the surrounding beauty of towering trees. A bit of heaven.  There are several camp sites and room for 5 RV parking  hook up water and electric only. Peace and quite with the beautiful trees and ponds

Chickens, roosters, and ducks roam the farm. 

This was our favorite swing. It had bells that sound like a windchime, and it's next to a garden bed that will probably be really pretty during growing season!

Fruit trees line the sidewalk straight to the spot where we pitched our tent.

You can pitch your tent anywhere you like, but this was our favorite spot. By the pond, surrounded by a creek, tucked into the trees. Felt very secluded, but was still pretty close to the amenities. 

My son enjoyed hunting for dandelions that had gone to seed.

Gorgeous old oak trees shade the land that has seen many inhabitants, from Native Americans to our three generations, who love the fauna and flora on the edge of East Texas. We offer guided trail rides with our Curly Mustangs who are gentle and calm through the flora and fauna filled forest and pasture for an additional cost if you are up for a real ranch experience. Please contact us in advance for the availability of trail rides. Spend the day fishing, play a few games of horseshoes and enjoy watching our gentle critters as they munch away. As evening sets, pitch a tent and feel free to relax by a fire as you view some of the most beautiful stars of the big sky of the Lone Star State. We have private hot showers and restroom accommodations in our sixteen stall barn. Horse boarding available for an additional fee. While we are only 30 miles from Dallas, you will feel the quiet beauty of country living at Golden Curls Ranch.

I'm not in the middle of nowhere, but my neighbors all have at least 3-5 acres.  It's always quiet out here, except for the birds and occasional coyote in the distance.  I have what Hipcamp calls a flexible cancellation policy.  Simply cancel on the site 24 hours prior to your check in for a full refund.
