2 nights at Adventure Haven RV

Adventure Haven was a beautiful RV park. Small, clean, not crowded, quiet no road noise, and dark at night and affordable. Centally located to Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands Needles and Island in the Sky distict, Moab, Arches, The Las Mountains and the Abajo mountains. James was extremely helpful to me as a first time RVer. He helped me set up and back out. Had a great time with just me and my wife. I give it 5 stars. I definitely will come back

Quiet and secluded feeling but still located conveniently close to town. Felt like there was no one nearby even though all the sites looked full! Also had the cleanest porta potty I’ve ever seen, it was a pleasant surprise. Would stay again!

This spot was perfectly located between Bryce and Zion. Didn't expect the snow but made for some beautiful views.

This little campground is the GEM of Utah. Thank you Cassie and Evan for this little treasure, it gave us a chance to just slow down and enjoy the area. We spent three wonderful nights and will do it all over again next time we are in this area. If you get the chance to take a break and do a little dry camping ....this is the place. Amazing sunsets!!!

Side site was great! It was level which made setting up our rooftop tent nice and easy. No issues getting in with our 4Runner. Michael was very welcoming and we especially liked the nightlights around the site and easy porta potty access. Recommend for those camping near Zion or Bryce - great location between the two parks!

We had a great stay at this site. The cows are quite welcoming! the site is beautifully prepared, water and electricity was a luxury. The bathrooms are clean and large. Plenty of space and close to the park but away from the feel of tourists.

2 nights at Zion Family Ranch Campground and RV

This campground was stellar! Very unique in that this is a big space but there are only a few RV spots (although they're close together). It was a quiet time at the campground so we felt like we had our own slice of heaven. The watercraft that was available for use was so nice. Also the tree swing! I felt having safe having my kids run around to explore because it was all contained and we were able to view the whole campground from our spot. The only thing that was annoying was the remodel of the bathroom that was happening during our stay. The cutting of the tile was loud. But we got through it. Overall I loved this place!

1 night at Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp

Such a cool spot! The road wasn’t as sketchy as some reviews said however I don’t think it had rained for days, the path once past the gates defiantly had some ruts you had to drive around but overall doable. I didn’t have service as my first choice spot by the tree so I moved to the more open spot along the front fence and had great views and service. The bathrooms were portapotties that were well maintained. The cows were roaming around the ranch. Overall great spot, with great views, and close to Zion where we biked the next day.

6 nights at Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp

We had a very pleasant experience at the Wrights family ranch. I had been nervous about the road because of all the discussion about it, but it was no big deal. It is a very typical dirt road and we had no issues. (It was dry for us) We loved watched the cows with their calfs and the sunrises and sunsets were amazing. There was tons of space but we made the mistake of stopping at the first set of trees. If I could do it over I would drive farther into the property. When we set up camp we were all alone but by the end of our trip we had neighbors on all sides. If we had gone deeper into the property we would have remained separated. Our site was beautiful so we never bothered moving. If you don’t love the sound of cow bells, bring ear plugs. We found it endearing, but there is the sound of cow bells at all hours! Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here, it is a magical place and an experience of a life time! I also recommend reading “The last Cowboys” before you go. It makes the experience even more magical.

This place was incredible. Friendly tip— we learned when we got there it is cheaper & easier to change reservations if you book directly with the park rather than thru hipcamp.

1 night at Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp

If you’ve ever wanted to truly camp in the middle of nowhere with beautiful views and sounds then this is your spot. It’s basically an open field so you can see other people’s RV’s/camps especially if they have their RV lights on. That being said there are areas that are very private and secluded. I’m not sure why people talk about the road conditions because they were completely fine when we went (granted it was dry)

Lots of land and lots of beautiful views. One of the most stunning places I’ve ever car camped. There are trees for shade, portapots strategically placed and fire pits here and there. Cows roam around day and night. They do wear bells and you can hear that all night, but it didn’t bother me. Dark skies for sure. The roads were very rutted, but that would depend on when it last rained or snowed. Never saw anyone related to the place. You just drive in, find a spot and enjoy!

Retro Star Ranch

Retro Star Ranch is big and secluded. Aside from a few trailers that dot the hills in the distance you are pretty much on your own. We have 25 acres of land at the end of a private road in a secret hidden valley not far from SLC, Ogden and Eden Utah. This land is pristine and connected to over 5000 acres of undeveloped open space. The property is part of a recreational property subdivision. You might see some fellow campers on quads, occasionally you might hear gunfire, but you're more likely to see deer, fox, grouse, birds of prey, moose and possibly elk. Not far from Causey Reservoir and the South Fork of the Ogden River both of which have great water for floating and fishing. You could easily get here in a sedan when dry but not recommended for sports or low clearance vehicles. If you have 4x4 that is better, especially if you want to venture to our last campsite or pull a trailer here. We've pulled a 30' foot trailer but the road is skinny in places and the turns are tight, bumpy from cobbles and ruts and often have puddles. There is about 2 miles of that climbs over a ridge. If you're adventurous and a confident driver on dirt roads you will have no problem. If it's you're first time pulling a trailer or if you have a low clearance then this might not be the spot for you. However, if you're looking for something peaceful and secluded that is not that far from town, this is it. We can also accommodate larger groups or multiple vehicles if desired. Please contact us with any special requests or questions. The Knoll site is better for trailers and larger groups. It has a loop through driveway and can accommodate a few trailers. Please be aware that this is wilderness camping and there are wild animals throughout the woods. It is best to stay on trail or at the site and be alert for snakes, big cats, moose and deer.

Desert Moon Campground and RV Park

Setup your tent and enjoy some respite before and after exploring the beautiful canyons and desert landscapes that surround the Desert Moon and beyond. We have 2 showers, bathrooms, potable water, picnic tables, and wifi on site. There is also a covered seating area for guest use by our Inn. There are 5 campsites total. Please note, the Union Pacific Railroad is right across the street, with trains passing by multiple times a day and night. There will be noise at night. Campsites are relatively close together so you will likely see other campers during your stay. Also, there is not a lot of shade on the property so be prepared. Thompson Springs began as a railroad stop on the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in the mid to late 1800's. It soon became a shipping point and community center for local farmers, cattle ranchers and sheepherders. It is now a ghost-town with a population of 50 people. The Desert Moon has a true wild western past. The old dancehall on the property, The Cactus Caberet, once served as the town bar and brothel. We are currently in the process renovating the dancehall into a venue for live music and retreats. There are 8-12 staff members living on site in their personal RV's at all times. We are a small community of artists, builders, and adventurers. We are constantly working to improve this property that came under our ownership in July of 2020. Feel free to come say hello and ask us about what we are building here! Thompson Springs is a true "ghost town" with no retail or restaurants except a 7-11 off the I-70 exit. The towns of Moab and Green River are only a half hour drive away and are full of regional and eclectic restaurants and shops. The Desert Moon is located just four miles from the Sego Canyon Rock Art in the Bookcliffs featuring pictograph and petroglyph panels from three different Native American cultures: Barrier, Fremont, and Ute. Be sure to check them out! There are miles of off-road trails accessible from our property. Some require a 4x4 vehicle or dirtbike, but many are well maintained enough for almost any vehicle.

We’re not expecting a RV resort, we just want to be away from the noise and hustle of Moab, and we’re looking for a good value. What a great view of the mountain! (We’ll just ignore that old trailer across the street in the other direction.) The park has so much open space and only five spots! It is really relaxed. Wow - the WiFi is solid! We can work from home here; it is so reliable and fast (fiber optic). Your insider information on the area will be a great help to us; who could put a value on that? A uranium boom town in the 1950's, La Sal is now a shadow of past times (and littered with artifact trailers and structures). But we are in beautiful high desert country and we are at the foothills of the La Sal Mountains and the park has a completely unobstructed view of this range! All sites have water, sewer, WiFi, and 30 amp electric service (two have 50amp). We also have two fire rings with a view to the mountain, and two portable fire pits. All sites have tables. Our park is new, clean and open with a solid road base surface. Sites can accommodate 40 foot plus units, but all require some backing. The La Sal vibe: as in any rural community, old junk is seen as valuable assets, and "curb appeal" is not in the local vocabulary (actually we don't have curbs or street lights here, and half the town has dirt roads). But it is peaceful here, a refreshing get away. We have some of the darkest skies anywhere, and hours can go by with no traffic at all. Welcome to rural Utah! We have built a tall privacy fence so you don't have to look at our treasure. Looking north and west, the Adventure Haven feels fairly secluded: houses are mostly obscured or out of sight in these directions. A row of large aspen trees is along one side of the camp with our neighbor obscured (when the trees have leaves), but not far away. Two funky old house trailers are visible to the south (just across the street), but camps face North with unobstructed views to the mountain. We are on the very northwest edge of this old community. This is not a place for a late night party, but it is a good place for normal gatherings. (You can stay up late and enjoy the night sky and talk, but if you get wild we will talk with you about it.) People in general find it to be quite nice as well as a good value. The Adventure Haven feels open, public and safe to most people. Funky and rural, in high pristine desert with a sweet view of the mountain is the overall vibe. The Needles district of Canyonlands is about 1 hour from Camp; Moab and Arches National Park are only 35 minutes away, and there are exciting features to explore right in our neighborhood. • Looking Glass Arch, Lopez Arch and Wilson Arch are all about 15 minutes away! • The world-famous motorcycle route, Colorado 90, begins just 12 miles away, with fine scenery all the way. • Hook and Ladder OHV Trail system is less that five miles from the Adventure Haven, the dirt starting in only 2. The Rim Rocker Trail can be accessed from here as well by driving a few miles on pavement. • Forest Service access to the La Sal Mountains is less than 7 miles away for an escape into alpine coolness, with fishing at Medicine Lake 15 miles from here. Note: Only mellow, quiet, and controlled pets are allowed here, and only two per site. Pets must be on a leash and owners must pick up after them. Please tell us about your pet in the booking request. Please consider that this place may not be suitable for your children. The perimeter is well marked, but is not child proof and there are hazards, such as an irrigation ditch, beyond it (running now).
