2 nights at Zion Wright Ranch Eco-Camp

I have never camped in a more beautiful remote place. You will really not find a better view. Loved that this site was basically in the park in a part of Zion where there were little to no crowds at trailheads (writing this in April). While it was very windy during our stay, we had no problem getting up the dirt road to the campsite, although keep in mind that if it rains, the road is impassable when wet so plan accordingly. The road is an experience in itself! To get to the Springdale Zion entrance took 30 min, and the drive was gorgeous. Especially during sunrise. We drove miles and miles on the dirt road around the ranch and admired the land and all of the cows. We read about the Wright family - what a privilege it was to stay on this land. The sky was so dark and there were billions of stars. Note: Be aware of wildfire conditions. It was windy up there during our stay and super dry. As much as you want to light a campfire, be careful, and if you do, douse your fire in water when you're done!

Weekend Trip to Farm Cabins Zion & Bryce!! Pool...

Very convenient location with nice views and cozy accommodations. Owner and staff were very friendly at breakfast and loved getting to see all the farm animals. Perfect place to stay while exploring southern Utah.

Vast open camping area. Bouncy dirt road to get in, but no washboard or anything. Don't drive it in the rain. Such a beautiful place to camp, quite close to the main Zion entrance as well as the NW area of the park.

The views, the quiet, and the stars could not be beat. It's a long drive up a dirt road, but so is where we live in Vermont, so we felt right at home. We heard coyotes yipping and howling at night, which we loved, but other than that it was beautifully quiet. So close to Zion, but way out of the fray.

The view from my camp was incredible! I will stay there again. The road condition was a bit rough though. Driving during rain would be a bit touch and go. Bathroom facilities were adequate as well.

The view is just stunning! This is remote camping in a field area (with a few cows around!). One can basically drive up to any firepit and set up camp. I could see a few other campers but not close at all, definitely very private. A few porta potties are scattered around. Note, you are on ranch land but you will not actually see the active part of the ranch - we never saw the host. Would definitely come back!

This is a remote site that we went to late March 2025. The road was quite rough likely due to a rain the preceding weekend with 6-10 inch ruts and potholes. It has very steep grades at times and closes down to nearly a single lane is some places. I'd advise to get there before dark because it's virtually impossible to figure out where to camp in the dark. Nonetheless, it was a very large piece of land with multiple tent and RV sites. Cows came into the camp at night coming close to our campfire which we could only do 1 of the 5 nights we spent given high winds. The setting is spectacular and very close to Zion National Park. I'd recommend for vehicles with sufficient clearance.

Cabin info ($99/night + $69 cleaning fee): This cabin is a cozy 744 square feet. It's off-grid, but we have a 500 gallon water system, an electric start generator, and a propane tank. We hope to also get some solar power up there soon! It's 1 bedroom, 1 bath, and a loft. Max capacity of 8 people (all-new bedroom mattresses as of 2024): 2 in bedroom on full-sized mattress 2 on full-sized pull-out bed in living room area 2 on north side of loft on queen-sized mattress (loft ladder not recommended for those over 75) 2 on south side of loft on full-sized mattress (loft ladder not recommended for those over 75) There is a front deck and a large back deck, where multiple tables can be set up for eating. There is also a full outdoor kitchen. This cabin would also be great as a fishing/hunting base camp - Mammoth Creek, Lowder Ponds, Panguitch Lake, and more are all close! Extra info: There are places for 3-4 tents ($20/tent/night), and 1-2 RVs ($35/RV/night)
