stayed 2 nights in early April pros: easy to find, clean property, metal fire pit, picnic table, Melinda and Dan are very responsive and friendly, they brought their tiny home to the site because they knew I was tent camping on a rainy weekend, requested a wood chopping block and they delivered it immediately cons: the tiny house has a funky odor to it and apparently my down pillow absorbed this odor through the air - hoping this goes away over time but right now it's unusable there's not much privacy because the road is 50 feet away and had pretty regular traffic. some of the passing vehicles slowed to almost a stop and I could see them rubber necking to get a look at whoever was at the site. this made me uncomfortable leaving my possessions when I would leave for the day because I didn't know who all these visitors were and they all seemed overly interested in getting a look at me. I can be a bit extra when it comes to privacy/security so this was probably partially just me. suggestions: orient the tiny house so it's between the road and site to add privacy and provide a way to secure the house ( key, or combination keypad)

Great spot! Excellent signage to the campsite. Beautiful outhouse. Slept in my car and then drove to ADK Loj about 40 minutes for a hike. Good communication and not expensive. Win win.

Weekend Trip to Art and Health Chill Camping

Sandy's farm was such an absolute gift. She was a wonderful host. Despite the bad weather she made accommodations to make our experience unforgettable. The wood fired sauna was an absolute highlite of our trip and she had it ready for us when we arrived. She also provided a few options for things to do in the town which enhanced our experience. I will definitely be coming back to Sandy's in the future, and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a weekend get away.

We had a great night away at the pine cone cabin! We arrived during a picturesque snow storm that was perfect for snowman building. The cabin took a little while to warm up, but once the wood stove got roaring we were sweating and stayed toasty all night. Wood for the stove was available for purchase on site ($6 a bundle) and we only needed one for the night and morning. The lights and hot plate were great accommodations and made cooking yummy camping meals a breeze. The loft was great. It easily fit our queen sized air mattress with my son’s camping pad on one side, our baby’s travel bassinet on the other and still had lots of room for our bags. Bonus that it is carpeted! We hope to come back again soon!

Super cute rustic cabin! We loved the little loft and it snowed overnight so we woke up to a winter wonderland. The kitchen had everything we needed for simple glamping meals. Would be a perfect stopover for a bike camping trip in the future.

We had a wonderful time staying in this adorable little cabin. The wood stove really keeps it toasty inside even with a thick blanket of snow outside, making it super cozy and comfortable. The cabin was exactly what we were looking for and above all, we felt safe. Also, the cabin was super easy to get to. We will definitely be returning! :)

Weekend Trip to Pine Cone Cabin

February 28-March 2, 2025. This was our home away from home. The cabin is adorable! The kitchen is equipped with the basics - my only complaint was we’d planned meals based on using the toaster oven, which is no longer there! There is a hot pot. The loft is cozy, with plenty of space to put air mattresses and/or other bedding. It’s carpeted, has electrical outlets and a small window for ventilation. The living area includes a cot/couch, a space heater and a very efficient wood stove. We learned the first night that after warming up the cabin only one log is needed to keep the cabin at a perfect temperature. There are shelves with games, batteries, bandaids and lanterns. Another closet contains cleaning supplies. For warmer weather, there is running water, including a shower. The privy was clean and tidy and set just far enough away. Although off a main road, we felt as though we were in a very secluded and private spot. The falling snow Friday and Saturday nights just added to the magical charm of our stay. Thank you, Susanna for sharing Pine Cone Cabin!

We loved our stay at Susanna's cabin! The wood stove kept us toasty and warm during the frigid nights, and we enjoyed being cozied up by the fire watching the snow fall. The cabin is private, but still accessible and rustic without being completely off-grid. It's a very traditional New England "camp", complete with a few board games, and essentials. The hosts were wonderful and pre-heated the cabin for us and plowed us out. When we arrived late in the evening we expected an ice-cold cabin, instead we found a cozy cabin with simmering embers in the stove waiting for us.

We are at the end of a dirt road with private access and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. If you decide to stay with us we can guarantee you your own private tent site to get away from it all, or a beautiful spot to park your van, car or small camper, all while still being only 10 minutes to the amenities of town, 15 minutes to world famous mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, or 20 minutes to breathtaking Lake Willoughby. Learn more about this land: We have two private tent platforms located in a mature mixed hardwood forest on our 50 acre property, as well as one van/small camper/car camping site located on the edge of our field. Each tent platform site includes an elevated and level 10'x12' cedar tent platform, a picnic table, and more privacy than the car camping site. Parking is less than a 1 minute walk from the platforms down a well maintained woods road and gorilla carts are available to help haul your gear. Many guests who wish to stay right next to their cars choose to car camp on the edge of the field in the car camping site, either pitching a tent or spending the night in their small camper. The views from this site are breathtaking, but it has less privacy as it is located next to the communal firepit, and amidst our working farm so we will occasionally be around doing chores, (the chickens and pigs are early risers). A mile away on 107 is the Locust Creek General Store and gas station, they uniquely offer block ice, diesel and kerosene, drinks, simple fresh sandwiches, many frozen foods and lots of newspapers. Four Springs Farm is a working organic farm on a beautiful west-facing hillside in central Vermont. Walk-in tent camping sites are tucked away in private corners of the farm a reasonable distance from the parking areas. The centrally located Wash Houses have toilets and hot showers. A picnic pavilion, which has a spectacular view of the valley and the hills of the Green Mtns, is available for group gatherings and celebrations and has a sink area for guests to use. Visitors are invited to tag-along-on-chores and meet the poultry sharing the farm with all of us and explore the seventy acres of paths, fields, streams, and woods. It's nature's playground at her best. Our season opens the last weekend in April and closes around the end of October. Wildflower Tent Site is a mowed area in one corner of a hillside field. Hammock campers would have a woods location for their use. It is located near the Wash Houses with it's own back door path, Watercress Crossing, over a small stream. There are no lights on the farm and this open spot is perfect for star gazing. There is a 10 x 12 foot tent platform, picnic table and fire pit. Morning Sunrise is the largest site and can hold ten tents easily on a relatively level grass area. It is protected from the heat of a late summer day and open to accept the first sunshine hitting the farm in the morning. Groups of multiple families, friends celebrating a special occasion, cycling groups and scouting organizations as well as individuals use this site to be slightly set apart from the heart of the farm activities. There is a picnic table and a firepit with space around it for a gang. Hidden Meadow is the most isolated and smallest tent site accessed by it's own bridge and unseen from most of the farm. Though not in the woods it feels tucked away and is ideal for couples or singles as it has room for only one tent ( on a 10 x 12 foot platform) and has a picnic table and fire pit. Maximum guests- three. Plum Corner as indicated by it's name is accessed along a path through the plum orchard. It is tucked up next to an old barn site with a stately old yellow birch defining the corner. It is ideal for families because of it's spaciousness and multiple tent options. There is one tent platform - 10 x 12 feet, a picnic table and fire pit.

Willow Hill Farm is a family-run working horse farm. We train , teach, board horses, and run a day camp. We had a resident camp for 40 years. We are 45 minutes from Lake Placid and 30 minutes from Plattsburgh. Montreal and Burlington, VT are a 1.5 hour drive. Lake Champlain is 15 minutes away. Hiking, boating, and swimming are all close, and riding lessons are available on the farm. Most hip camp sites are where resident campers stayed. There are two sleeping cabins with many bunks. Each has two small rooms where a counselor slept and one large room. There are screened windows with shutters on all sides and screen doors without locks on each end. There are electrical outlets and over head lights in the cabins. We have plans to improve the cabins. Past the cabins is the Green with 4 loose stone firepits. Across from the cabins is the shower house with four hot showers, sink, and toilets. Showers and toilets have closed stalls. Currently, the water system is above ground and will not work in freezing temps. We have installed an outhouse for year round use. All water is from our excellent well. On each side of the former(closed) dining are spots. There are electrical outlets on the outside of the dining hall. People with campers may like to park in the riding arena near the barnyard. There are outlets, but no toilets. Good water is available from the barns. Lovely views of sky and mountains! We also have a beautiful 50 acre field with an outlet, but no well. SiloSide Barn and Homestead

Built in 1900 it was a traditional dairy farm until the 50's and 60's when potatoes were planted on the fields for the Boston and New York markets. By the 70's and 80's it became a gentleman's farm for a retired couple from New York City and the dairy farmers nearby hayed the fields. When we purchased the property in 1993 we continued offering the hay, built greenhouses, planted vegetable and flower gardens, ran a traditional Bed and Breakfast, now airbnb. We leased some of the fields to a local organic seed company for 13 years until they purchased their own property. The farm remains certified organic and is still being hayed by a local dairy farm, the gardens are community managed using regenerative and sustainable practices when ever possible. This year in the commercial garden, seed crops will be planted once again. Much of the cultivated agricultural land is protected under the Vermont Land Trust, to ensure that it remains used for agricultural purposes. We love to share our farm and forest with others. In addition to our very intentional farming operations, you can find wild edibles tucked away on forest trails. Wildlife and wildflowers abound. Views and sunsets. Check out the 968 acre wildlife management area that abuts the property. Plenty of trails through the woods leading to Wolcott Pond and hidden beaver huts and dams.
