Roni is an excellent communicator - I need a place to car camp on my way to Mcafee knob for sunrise and she was gracious and accommodating. I didn’t get to see much of the property as it was dark when i arrived and left, but the moon was bright so what I was able to see looked beautiful. Great experience overall. Would definitely camp here again!

We loved our overnight stay at Wild River! Beautiful, peaceful surroundings, delicious wine, great fire pit...and delicious farm to table breakfast! Ashlee was super communicative...gave us great restaurant suggestions, and finding the campsite was super easy! Definitely recommend as a quick getaway destination!

The yurts and land here are gorgeous! I especially loved the trails on the property there’s a beautiful little creek to walk down to. I also loved the rain shower I could stay in there all night. The yurt has all the amenities you’d need and Ericka is a lovely host. One thing people should know before booking is that if you have a reactive or unpredictable dog just leave them home. Ericka has a very sweet friendly dog but he likes to roam at all hours and there are many other dogs coming and going so if that might be a problem maybe don’t bring your dogs, otherwise it was an amazing trip and so so beautiful

If you’re used to primitive car camping, this yurt is like a five-star hotel without the price of one. The beds were comfortable, the water was clean and got hot super-fast, and there were plenty of board games and books to keep my family occupied. We had a great time and wished we’d stayed longer and through the weekend so we could go take part in Floyd activities. I loved everything. We will come back and stay at this yurt regularly. I’m from a rural Appalachian town, and I have a lot of bad memories with prejudice and hatefulness. This area did that. My lgbtq+ family felt so safe but with the southern friendly flair I still love. So grateful for Erika and her mom and this wonderful property. We also loved Cosmo, the area dog.

This is a great little campground. RV sites are really close to the river which is gorgeous to walk along. Full Hookup - Overall great little spot. Their Cabins look cozy, too. Great wifi, clean bathhouse. Def more of a spot for a cute little camping getaway, not so much a one night stay park (all sites are back in). The tenting down by the river looks awesome. Must be so fun in the summer!

Awesome, cozy spot! We loved our stay at the green yurt. The wrap around porch and outdoor table are perfect for meals and enjoying nature. Make sure to take the GPS route that passes “Huffville cemetery” or you can get into a dicey backroads situation.

I had an amazing experience at this Hipcamp, thanks to the incredible host. He was welcoming, knowledgeable, and always ready to help while still respecting my space. His passion for the land and hospitality truly made the stay special. A highlight of the trip was the availability of fresh, foraged foods to cook with—a unique and thoughtful touch that made our experience even more memorable. The site was well-maintained, peaceful, and had everything I needed for a comfortable and enjoyable visit. I highly recommend this spot and would absolutely stay again!

Weekend Trip to Bee Hive on the Mountain w/ Hot Tub

The place was as it is on the pictures, the experience is different but very enjoyable. I rented the place to celebrate my bf's birthday, we enjoyed a lot the hot tub which was very warm and clean, we cooked, made drinks, watch movies and play board games. Great place to spend quality time with the people we love. We loved being able to bring our fur baby as well

Excellent place, excellent host. Tent was a great setup, with the bed you always want but never have on camping trips and the stove that makes the nights a bit more cozy. The resident Pyrs, Hela and Bear, provided great company as well. Night sky was beautiful. Great place to unwind for a bit.

A very peaceful and cozy getaway! This site is between two other yurts but there is enough privacy to feel alone. There is great heating and cooling with a dehumidifier so the temperature inside can be made perfectly comfortable.

The yurt was super well outfitted, with basically everything you could need! I loved resting in the hammock by the creek. Our stay was lovely and Jodee was quick to answer any questions we had.

DIRECTIONS: Upon entry the gravel road is shared with my neighbor and it is about 1.5 miles from the entry gate to the site. You'll enter thru a gate (it may be closed, if closed please close behind you as my neighbor sometimes has cows). Go approx 1 mile the road will split...go up the hill on the right. Continue past the Hay barn another half mile. Park on the left side of the gravel road along the tree line. Another 50ft you'll see a wood foot bridge across the creek. The sites are ahead, PawPaw is first, then Bloodroot Base Camp (bell tent), and lastly Cohosh Cove is the most private. Each site has a sign as well When driving, please be respectful of the right of way. Drive slowly and respect the farm equipment. Also please do not venture onto the neighbor’s property other than entry and exit. About the property 20 minutes from Blacksburg and 35 minutes from Roanoke, our campground gives you great access to the “Triple Crown” of the Appalachian trail, consisting of McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs, and Dragon’s Tooth. The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s. We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants including hemp.
