Jeremy is an amazing host with a great vision. The spot by the creek he is creating is a gem. It has rained for days so the ground was soggy. We weren't gonna make it to camp before the show we were checking out at the Floyd country store so he made a little video of the least muddy spot. Pulled in and a full moon greeted us over the creek where the sun rose in the AM. 2 minutes from Floyd! Such a great spot and Super host. Thanks for making us feel welcomed.

4 nights at 100 Acre Wood

What an incredible 4 nights! I arrived with everything set up already (firewood, water and portable toilet/tent), and the host David stopped by shortly after and gave me and my pup a tour of his property. I stayed for 4 nights and still didn’t get to walk all of the trails! All 3 sites were beautiful and all very different from one another. The Easter Egg one is more secluded and you are in a beautiful large meadow surrounded by trees. Great for larger groups! The Up on the Top has the best view, but you are definitely more exposed. I loved my site at Burlington Meadows. It was best of both worlds! The owners were so kind to check up on me once more during my stay, and were even more incredible when I had to message them late one night, requesting some supplies to remove a tick from my dog. They came right away with more than I needed. Hands down my favorite Hipcamp!! I can’t wait to come back and stay at the other 2 sites!

3 nights at Why be Square?! Blue Ridge Yurt

If you’re used to primitive car camping, this yurt is like a five-star hotel without the price of one. The beds were comfortable, the water was clean and got hot super-fast, and there were plenty of board games and books to keep my family occupied. We had a great time and wished we’d stayed longer and through the weekend so we could go take part in Floyd activities. I loved everything. We will come back and stay at this yurt regularly. I’m from a rural Appalachian town, and I have a lot of bad memories with prejudice and hatefulness. This area did that. My lgbtq+ family felt so safe but with the southern friendly flair I still love. So grateful for Erika and her mom and this wonderful property. We also loved Cosmo, the area dog.

This is a great little campground. RV sites are really close to the river which is gorgeous to walk along. Full Hookup - Overall great little spot. Their Cabins look cozy, too. Great wifi, clean bathhouse. Def more of a spot for a cute little camping getaway, not so much a one night stay park (all sites are back in). The tenting down by the river looks awesome. Must be so fun in the summer!

Our 4th time here but first time in site 6 which we loved. Amazing view of the New River as it winds its way towards the RV park. We had a strong breeze up on the site as is common for a stay here but the view is spectacular and the access for us was easy. This is one of our top 'go-to' sites when we travel and we'll be back by Fall.

Weekend Trip to Why be Square?! Blue Ridge Yurt

Awesome, cozy spot! We loved our stay at the green yurt. The wrap around porch and outdoor table are perfect for meals and enjoying nature. Make sure to take the GPS route that passes “Huffville cemetery” or you can get into a dicey backroads situation.

His passion for the land and hospitality truly made the stay special. A highlight of the trip was the availability of fresh, foraged foods to cook with—a unique and thoughtful touch that made our experience even more memorable. The site was well-maintained, peaceful, and had everything I needed for a comfortable and enjoyable visit. I highly recommend this spot and would absolutely stay again!

We bought a farm and started learning about farming in 2020 after a good friend of ours passed away from cancer and we started talking through what it would look like to try something we've always wanted to try. The top of our ridge called "soil road" used to be the main traveling path back in the settler days. The house at the bottom of our driveway used to be the towns post office, and there is a cave back on the creek where soldiers during the civil war camped out in. We are a working farm during the day so if you choose to walk down the ridge you'll find outside working with the animals or in the flower or produce garden. There is a lot of great fishing in the creek so make sure to bring your rod! We love pets so yours are welcome, and there are a lot of hiking trails and cute towns around us. Learn more about this land: A quiet very private experience on a farm with 180 Blue Ridge Mountain views on top of the ridge or walk down our trail to camp and trout fish on Rock Castle Creek. With clear stars, fireflies everywhere, and a cozy fire, what more could you ask for? Our whole 54 acres is yours to explore during the day to swim in the creek, see our farm animals or take a quick drive to the many surrounding lakes, hiking trails and local towns. 100 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by various roads/trails throughout. Over the years cutting roads has been a hobby that has resulted in miles of cleared pathways throughout the property that are perfect for hiking, running, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a small stream, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature with no one else around. Things to watch out for other than the wildlife mentioned above the two main concerns in this part of Virginia are deer ticks and poison ivy. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, big foot siting's as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.

Learn more about this land: Fall asleep to hooting owls and the gentle ripple of the river and creek that flank your campsite. Wake up with a dip in the river or a morning hike in the woods. Feel the hug of the mountains throughout your stay, while also having access to Blacksburg nearby should you need it. DIRECTIONS: Upon entry the gravel road is shared with my neighbor and it is about 1.5 miles from the entry gate to the site. You'll enter thru a gate (it may be closed, if closed please close behind you as my neighbor sometimes has cows). Go approx 1 mile the road will split...go up the hill on the right. Continue past the Hay barn another half mile. Park on the left side of the gravel road along the tree line. Another 50ft you'll see a wood foot bridge across the creek. The sites are ahead, PawPaw is first, then Bloodroot Base Camp (bell tent), and lastly Cohosh Cove is the most private. Each site has a sign as well When driving, please be respectful of the right of way. Drive slowly and respect the farm equipment. Also please do not venture onto the neighbor’s property other than entry and exit. About the property 20 minutes from Blacksburg and 35 minutes from Roanoke, our campground gives you great access to the “Triple Crown” of the Appalachian trail, consisting of McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs, and Dragon’s Tooth. Conquer these iconic peaks of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains for spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness. I love the peacefulness the property offers, and that you’re in the middle of the wilderness but also have quick access to things in town. The river campsites are my favorite part of the property. At the main cabin I have goats and chickens which hipcampers are more than welcome to greet. About the listing Pitch your tents at the campsite nestled along the side of the mountain on the banks of the North Fork of the Roanoke River. As you fall asleep, listen to the occasional hoot of an owl, howl of a coyote, and gentle ripple of the river and creek that flank the campsite. Campers will have access to a private composting toilet, fire pit, and picnic table. We offer two different campsites on the property, so note that you may see or hear other campers on the grounds during your stay.
