Beautiful camping spot. The views are breathtaking and the site is set all by itself. David was a great host and even gave us a tour of his land on his four-wheeler, which our kids loved too! Weekend Trip to Savage Acres on Craig Creek

The land is gorgeous and sites spread out just far enough. The real special thing about the property is the creek and the swimming hole. I highly recommend checking it out. The owner was cool and kind. My only gripe was the port-a-potties needed cleaning (which is probably a timing issue on our part). Ultimately, I’d go back if ever passing back through. Cheers, Sean

4 nights at 100 Acre Wood

What an incredible 4 nights! I arrived with everything set up already (firewood, water and portable toilet/tent), and the host David stopped by shortly after and gave me and my pup a tour of his property. I stayed for 4 nights and still didn’t get to walk all of the trails! All 3 sites were beautiful and all very different from one another. The Easter Egg one is more secluded and you are in a beautiful large meadow surrounded by trees. Great for larger groups! The Up on the Top has the best view, but you are definitely more exposed. I loved my site at Burlington Meadows. It was best of both worlds! The owners were so kind to check up on me once more during my stay, and were even more incredible when I had to message them late one night, requesting some supplies to remove a tick from my dog. They came right away with more than I needed. Hands down my favorite Hipcamp!! I can’t wait to come back and stay at the other 2 sites!

This place was incredible! We camped with 4 kids ages 3-14 and they all loved it here. The creek kept them occupied for hours! The views were awesome and there were tons of flowers and wildlife to be seen.

Weekend Trip to Rogue Trout Retreat

Rouge Trout camp was the perfect location for our annual fishing trip. The owners were super easy to communicate with and very helpful. We had a group of 12 and prefer and campground not near all the lights and generators of a public campgrounds. We caught a good number of trout right from the property. Well most definitely be back.

One of that most peaceful beautiful sites we’ve ever stayed at. Close proximity to the New River Trail (which is why we chose this spot) however other than the bike ride on the Nee River trail we never left. Cannot think of the last time that has happened. Full hookups with great water pressure and such a serene view. Already looking to book again! Thank you for sharing a piece of your beautiful property with us.

Our 4th time here but first time in site 6 which we loved. Amazing view of the New River as it winds its way towards the RV park. We had a strong breeze up on the site as is common for a stay here but the view is spectacular and the access for us was easy. This is one of our top 'go-to' sites when we travel and we'll be back by Fall.

I camped with my partner and dog on the top of the ridge. A great escape to the mountains for the weekend. We enjoyed walking down to the creek to wade, watching the sunset and sunrise. Matthew recommended the Crossroads cafe which was great.

Beautiful private area down by the river. Probably need a higher clearance vehicle to make it down to the riverside campsite, but there are a couple other spots with easier access. Great stay and would do it again when I’m in the area!

In a remote valley just north of Roanoke VA, along the banks of Craig's Creek, the property includes mature hardwood forest, pasture, and an 1830s log cabin where we live. We love to share this special place with visitors, and have some basic amenities for campers. The campsites are at the edge of a large pasture and just a few steps from the creek and our big swimmin' hole. Totally secluded in a remote valley - barely a house in sight (but our cabin is a short walk through the woods if you need something), no cell service for most providers, but within a short drive of Roanoke and Blacksburg, and countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

This private cliff top setting has 6 newly created camp sites on 5 Acres. Enjoy less crowds and more nature! The long range views or the river and farmlands will take your breath away. At the bottom of the drive you have access to the New River and the New River Trail so bring your bike for more fun. Bike the trail, bird watch, or star gaze; the choices are endless. There is a zoo in nearby Ft. Chiswell. Each site has full hook ups. No tent sites at the present time. Area grocery stores are located about 30 minutes away in Wytheville, Pulaski and Hillsville. 100 Acres of forested land in the Draper, Virginia area with scattered clearings that are connected by various roads/trails throughout. Over the years cutting roads has been a hobby that has resulted in miles of cleared pathways throughout the property that are perfect for hiking, running, cycling, and horseback riding. The property includes a small stream, several ravines, ridge lines and trails to explore. We frequently encounter deer, rabbits, squirrels, and the occasional turkey, black bear, coyotes and Bigfoot. The thing people seem to enjoy most is the privacy and and quiet that allows you to connect with nature with no one else around. Things to watch out for other than the wildlife mentioned above the two main concerns in this part of Virginia are deer ticks and poison ivy. We are located about 5 minutes from I-81 or 15 minutes from I-77 making it an easy place to stop when passing through on your way to other adventures. If you are coming on I-81, use exit 89-A. Don't let Google maps take you to Frog Level Ct near the town of Pulaski (LOL). Nearby attractions include Appalachian Gem and Gold Mine on Route 100 (5 min), New River Trail State Park (10 min), Claytor Lake State Park (20 min) and the Town of Draper has a couple small town shops to explore including The Draper Mercantile and Trading Company and the newly opened Conery where you can get wonderful ice cream cones and more. We love hosting campers and are happy to help make accommodations to help you have an enjoyable stay. We have 3 sites but only allow 2 to be in use at a time on the property. This insures that all guests continue to feel complete privacy from others and allows us to always have an alternate site available if campers want to change. Available "Extras" include portable toilet setup, Woodshop class making a cutting board, big foot siting's as well as various camping gear items and games. If there are other extra's you would like to see or something you forgot to bring please let us know and we will see what we can do.
