Great night. Nice place and good people. Brewery/winery had tasty drinks and they had live music the night we were there. Sheridan was a great communicator and was able to guide us to the spot with no issues. Thanks!

My partner and I stayed on Hearth Hill again and had a nice stay! The tasting room was busy and there was live music, but the campsite was still very quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean and well maintained. This is a great place to just get away for a night or two and I’ve stayed here multiple times. Recommended!

Weekend Trip to Ridge Crest Hollow and Lake

We had a great time during our stay, the place is gorgeous and very clean, our dog had a blast! The site was very private and we enjoyed the wine and beer from the tasting room, we’ll come back soon for sure! Sheridan’s attention was awesome and very responsive!

Ben was an awesome host and his site was easy to get to! The area had 5G reception and was just minutes from the city. We had a great experience overall!

Weekend Trip to Ridge Crest Hollow and Lake

Had a great time camping on Ben’s site. He met us when we arrived and gave us the lay of the land. The site is private and quiet. An unexpected bonus is the site has full 5G access. We were able to watch wrestlemania by the fireside!

Weekend Trip to Sunrise by the Pond

This is our third trip to Kevin’s sunrise by the pond and like always we had a great time just unplugging from our busy lives and getting to simply enjoy nature and all the awesome animals at Kevin’s farm. 10/10 recommend and we’ll be definitely coming back before our big move to Washington state.

Who met me at the entrance and brought me back to my site. The lake was bigger than I imagined and the site was quiet and secluded. I will definitely return.

2 nights at Sunrise by the Pond

We had an awesome time! Even though we could see other campers, it felt very private. Having the kayaks on site for campers to use was a huge plus. We would definitely go back! Highly recommended!

Communication was seamless, and they were very understanding of our needs. Kevin took the time to show us around their beautiful farm, which was a delight for my kids. The highlight was definitely letting my daughters collect chicken eggs—such a memorable and unique experience! I can't recommend them enough, and I look forward to returning soon. Beautiful private campsite next to a stream. Very nice cooking fireplace and a picnic table. Brewery is great! Be aware that it will take some off roading to get there. No problem in our Subaru on road tires and in damp conditions. Signage was either non-existent or hard to find, but we were pretty sure we were at the right sight. No one kicked us out, at least! Definitely plan to come back for a longer stay.

2 nights at Sunrise by the Pond

We had site #2 . Beautiful property. The host was very nice and accommodating. The sites are all close to the water. You can still see the other campers and hear them but they were all a good distance from one another( its a hike to get to each site) Our site had the most shade which would be great for warmer weather, he was planning to put another site close to ours which would be very close so if you had a friend or family member you wanted to camp with you could have separate sites but be close enough to walk from one to the other. There are trails you can walk throughout the property. The fishing was good also. You can fish off the bank or use a boat or kayak. There is a little country store no more than 5 min from the property also. Very quiet and relaxing spot. Lots of wildlife.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay at Kevin's farm! The amenities were great–clean port-a-potty, fire pit area with plenty of wood available, picnic table, chairs, and so much more. He even had an orange Igloo cooler full of water there for us when we arrived. The site was very spacious and surrounded by beautiful tall pine trees. Kevin showed us around his farm and talked to us about what he does, which was a really great experience. Plus, who would say no to holding a baby goat? I appreciated that we were allowed to walk around at our leisure to visit his animals, it was a very welcoming and cozy environment. All in all it was a wonderful stay!

Weekend Trip to Private Farm Minutes to Cville

Our two nights on Bob’s property was such a positive experience- the meadow provided both expansiveness and privacy for ourselves and our two dogs, all traveling in our campervan. Bob greeted us when we arrived and was available at all times during our stay. Having access to a shower and bathroom at the house was a big plus! We loved camping amidst the horses, it was such fun to come up to the fences and get close. Highly recommend staying at this site!

If you love to fish, this is place for you. We ended up catching a bunch including bass, pike, and bream. The owner was very helpful with everything. We will be back for sure!!

This was a 55-acre farm, split in half to accommodate a bypass through Charlottesville, so the previous owners had to give up half the land, and actually moved the house down to the other half of the property! They had to build a land bridge to get to the new home site, so they turned the bridge into a dam and created a beautiful large swimming pond, complete with beach and gazebo. My wife Stephanie and I bought the property in early 2017 and have turned it into a private horse farm, adding pastures, a riding ring, and 6-stall barn. There are ~21 horses who live on the property. The property is unique in that you can hardly see another house from anywhere on the property and yet we are only 2 miles from Barracks Rd. Shopping Center, and 4 miles from the University of Virginia.

Arcadia Sanctuary

Arcadia is the name we gave to our 83-acre mountainside retreat center for Earth-Based Spirituality. It’s nestled on the south-eastern slope of 4000-foot Mount Pleasant in Central Virginia, convenient to I81. (Note, there is a town called Arcadia off I81, but that is not us. Not to confuse.) We have a mountain creek with waterfalls, towering Beech and Sycamore trees, Witch Hazels leaning over the water, trout, crayfish, snakes, salamanders, and all the rest. We have about 2000 feet of the vertical mountainside with trails to explore. (But the stage and most of the camping is down closer to creek-level.) There are more sites higher up the mountain if you like more isolated camping. More of a trek to the bathrooms/showers/freshwater. We have one of the finest private stages on the East Coast with a top-notch sound system and a natural amphitheater which is like a single pie wedge of a Stadium that has regular live performances throughout the spring, summer, and fall. Our yurt is regularly booked as a unique glamping experience. There are chickens, ducks, turkeys, and guinea fowl free-roaming. Two dogs, nine cats, and several humans are blessed to call this home. There are two bridges that cross Thrashers Creek to get to Arcadia. The first is not suitable for large vehicles and trailers. The second bridge is our recommended entry way. Be aware we live on side of Mount pleasant and the roads on site are graveled and somewhat windy.

Labyrinth, Trails and Solitude

116 acres of hills and dells. Miles of hiking trails marked and well maintained. A small pond and beautiful labyrinth. Over 50 acres of deep wilderness woods. General Lee and his troops once camped here. But they cleaned up pretty good, so all you can really see is the old spring and wagon road. This is a working herb and small fruit farm. We have been experimenting with all kinds of exotic herbs and trees. Some make it, many don't. We sell dried herb teas. In addition we have 5 different kinds of bamboo. We use the bamboo for so many things. In the 5 people per site we are considering adults, not children... bring a whole crew of kids (try to have enough supervision - if there is such a concept!) The kids have such a great time out here... it is amazing. They love the labyrinth! It seems like we made this place for the kids in ourselves and when actual kids see it they go wild. The last bunch were running and yelping with their picked flowers all round and round in the labyrinth for hours! Also, if you want peace and quiet - and we have children booked - we will put you out at one beautiful remote campsites away from all the kids running and singing.
