My daughter and I loved glamping at Our Farm! We felt connected to nature while also having some modern luxuries; like a bed, toilet, a couch, and a cute little town nearby! Remy and her family were very welcoming and answered all our questions. We made delicious burgers with the meat they sell, and ate yummy treats both mornings! I will definitely be visiting again 🐮🩵☀️🌳

Me and my fiancé loved camping here there was so much to do from basketball to walking trails and sitting by the lake. Along with that the land was so private it was an enjoyable and enriching experience.

What a heavenly glampsite! Joined by our good friend and her daughter, we had two 3-year-olds in tow and our trusty dog. Everyone had a blast! Jud is an exceptional host- greeted us upon arrival, gave us the tour, and was super communicative, personable, and accommodating. The property is stunning, especially at this time of year with all the dogwoods and red buds in bloom. We had a sunny, hot day, so the pond was the highlight! We used the kayaks, my husband fished and caught several bass, my little one bravely jumped in the water, and our dog was in heaven swimming for hours! The water was icy cold, but that didn’t stop our water babies. The tents are so comfortable and the charcoal grill and solo stoves at each site make campsite cooking a breeze. The compostable toilets per site offer convenience, comfort, and privacy. We will definitely return! We got rained out for s’mores making, so we need to come back on a dry night to check all our camping must-dos off our list. Thanks Jud, we had such a special visit!

My daughters and I loved Big Dipper Ranch, will definitely be coming back for another visit! Tent and accommodations were very well maintained, exactly as advertised. We loved kayaking at the pond! Jud is a wonderful host, very accommodating and responsive. He clearly takes great pride in sharing his beautiful property with his guests.

Such a beautiful, well stocked, and lovely private campsite! I loved visiting Jennifer at the farm store and seeing some of the animals who live there! This was a great location for camping before/after hiking Old Rag at Shenandoah. I wish we had more time at Jennifer's. On our second night, our friend was going to join us but would have been setting up during a long thunderstorm, so we did not stay (we had family nearby). Thank you for this gorgeous visit!

Weekend Trip to Big Dipper Ranch camping - glamping

Big Dipper Ranch is nothing short of extraordinary. The tent was cozy and perfect for us. All of the outdoor amenities are amazing. The compost toilet was super clean. The stargazing was incredible. Jud was so friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Will absolutely be back one day!!

Weekend Trip to Watercress Inn at Landon Farm

We had a wonderful time at the farm and loved Gypsy Camp. Farmer Jen was a wonderful host and introduced my 3 year old to all the animals opened up the very well stocked farm store for us. She gave us some maps of the farm and the area, which was particularly helpful as we didn't have much cell service (a delightful reprieve from notifications). I would highly recommend and plan to return.

Weekend Trip to Camping on the Hazel River

What a great campsite! My boyfriend and I spent a day + night here and had such a lovely time. Our hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with before, during and after the stay. Scot greeted us right away, showed us around, answered all of our questions and then left us in privacy. The land was so lush and serene with tons of wildflowers, trees and plant life. We enjoyed taking nature walks, setting up our hammock and making a bonfire with the plentiful amount of wood our host set up at our site (upon request). The river sounds added such a peaceful ambiance too. We even spotted a bald eagle! This site had everything we could've needed for a successful night of camping (even a flushing toilet and sink in a small outhouse). We felt very safe and relaxed in this green paradise. Overall, such a great spot! We plan on coming back and recommending it to friends!

Weekend Trip to The Byrd's Nest on the River

What a fantastic get away. I highly recommend visiting. It’s extremely peaceful. The set up of both the small cabin and camping area is great. We were able to completely relax and enjoy the weekend!

This was a perfect location. The facilities were in excellent condition. It is conveniently located to hiking and the NP. My kids loved visiting the farm and seeing the animals. We look forward to returning!

The Birdsong camp site was clean and well kept. The fire ring is nice, there is a flat picnic table area, a pad for a tent and a bathhouse/kitchen combo area. It’s clear to see that some thought and money were put into this site. Communication with the host was always clear and responsive. Overall we had a great time there. The only issue we had was a dog that seemed to start barking every night around 10 pm. It even ended up in our camp barking at us the first night. I understand that this is a working farm, so noises from goats, chickens etc were expected in the morning and throughout the day, but no one anticipated the nights to be disruptive.

The “primitive “ tent sites are perfect for my Westfalia VW. Didn’t need it, but there’s electricity and water at the site and easy access to the washroom / shower / scrub sink. Nice folks at the office. The neighbor’s sheep and llama add to the great experience. The newborn lambs kept me entertained for the evening. This was my second stay and it won’t be my last.

Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries. We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm! Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours. The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries. A few offerings on the farm. Tasting in the 1850s Chestnut log cabin, tubing trips, breakfast and picnic lunches, Animal experiences and Yoga. ~ Voted West Virginia's No. 1 HIPCAMP, three years in a row!! ~ The Byrd's Nest is a river front, primitive campsite on the scenic Cacapon River in Great Cacapon, WV. The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable.
