Levi was great. Met us as we were setting up and gave us a lot of options since it was raining. Good hiking around and breweries and wineries around that were dog friendly. Off leash for the pups was awesome! Definitely coming back!

Weekend Trip to The Bluffs at Cedar Creek

We loved camping at The Bluffs at Cedar Creek. Levi’s land is stunning and Levi was awesome! Very friendly, personable, helpful, and was kind enough to show us to a slightly more secluded spot so our dogs could run freely in and out of the creek. The land is well maintained and we thoroughly enjoyed walking the property with our dogs and exploring the creek. It was a huge plus having extra water supply and large trash can on the way out of the location. We were so happy to find that Levi had some bundles of firewood for sale at the entrance as well. I would recommend Levi’s place to anyone! We’ve already planned on returning here!

Weekend Trip to Harmony Tree Farm

Second stay. Very nice. River is a 5 minute hike. The bluebells were out this last time. Shenandoah River Park is my favorite for hikes, so did a day trip there. Skyline Drive is less than an hour —-if you can plan it for sunrise or sunset you will be awestruck. Sunset at the camp’s river was pretty. There’s a couple of owls in residence—I enjoyed listening to them on both trips.

Wonderful place to camp! Cabin was clean and nicely organized. The outdoor fire place is definitely a luxury and it’s equipped to cook on top as well. We really enjoyed the lake and playground on the property. Host was responsive and accommodating.

Weekend Trip to The Byrd's Nest on the River

What a fantastic get away. I highly recommend visiting. It’s extremely peaceful. The set up of both the small cabin and camping area is great. We were able to completely relax and enjoy the weekend!

Weekend Trip to Watercress Inn at Landon Farm

This was a perfect location. The facilities were in excellent condition. It is conveniently located to hiking and the NP. My kids loved visiting the farm and seeing the animals. We look forward to returning!

The Birdsong camp site was clean and well kept. The fire ring is nice, there is a flat picnic table area, a pad for a tent and a bathhouse/kitchen combo area. It’s clear to see that some thought and money were put into this site. Communication with the host was always clear and responsive. Overall we had a great time there. The only issue we had was a dog that seemed to start barking every night around 10 pm. It even ended up in our camp barking at us the first night. I understand that this is a working farm, so noises from goats, chickens etc were expected in the morning and throughout the day, but no one anticipated the nights to be disruptive.

Weekend Trip to Bear Run Farms

The blue basin was beautiful in person and clean. We would definitely come back again. Very family friendly. Plenty of space for kids to run around, playground, and tubes/paddle boats were provided for the water. Outhouses were clean and within good walking distance. While very spacious, I can’t say waterfront tent site 2 gave us the privacy we had hoped for, the two sites were maybe 100-200ft apart. We would actually recommend waterfront tent site 1 over waterfront site 2, especially for those with children. We say this because the fire pit was close to the slope for site 2 (which may not be safe for kids), site 1 was closer to the outhouse, directly in front of the playground, and closer to a dock. Site 1 also had more wood available and their tiki torches worked. If you’re looking for plenty of land to run around with activities and something fun for the kids, this is your spot. If you’re looking for something more private and quiet, this may not be it. Overall we hope to come back with a bigger group and rent both sites. Would definitely recommend Amber’s land. She even came to greet us which was nice.

Welcome to our small Farm, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County, Virginia. Located just minutes from Shenandoah National Park, we offer intimate nature-inspired cottages and camping on our 120-acre working farm. Enjoy an evening under the stars with fireflies and a campfire after a long day hike, fly fishing on one of our beautiful trout steams or touring the local vineyards and breweries. We currently offer one cottage, glamping and a few campsites for our guests. Our campsites are all private, located acres apart with tables, chairs, firepits, some elevated sleeping areas, some hammock spots and a few with a roof. Three of our spots require walking away from your vehicle, short distances. We have four drive-in sites that will accommodate two or three vehicles. We do not allow RVs or trailers on our main farm due to our narrow mountain driveway. Wisteria Camp has a private driveway, it can accommodate small RV/Trailers. Camper vans are welcome at the main farm! Our farm store includes our Animal Welfare Approved products such as Eggs, Chicken, Beef, Pork, Lamb and Dairy, as well as produce, jams, coffee and other items from our local community. We offer camping essentials, local art, bike rentals, farm experiences and tours. The property has miles of trails along mountain spring-fed streams, a small pond and access to three private acres on the Robinson River, a stocked Trout stream, just 2 miles down the road. Our property is centrally located to White Oak Canyon (20 minutes) and Old Rag Mountain (10 minutes) trailheads in the Shenandoah National Park as well as many vineyards and breweries. There is an awesome hike, 2 miles down the road known as Eagle rock with a sprawling view back towards the east, which is absolutely stunning.!!

Mid September is when the PawPaw's are ripe and readily falling from the trees, booking during these times grants you access to the one of nature's best kept secrets, the Paw Paw fruit. You won't find them in stores but you can graze for them here. They make a delicious second breakfast Come enjoy. I'm always in the process of making and clearing more campsites around the property. For anyone interested in earning a little extra stay time please ask about helping me clear and working for some compensated time. The Byrd's Nest on the River

The property is very secluded, but only 2 hrs from D. C. and Baltimore. The space can accommodate 5 tents comfortably or a few small campers (w/o hookups). Please note- I only book one group at a time. You'll have plenty of privacy! Spend your day bird watching on the river deck, put up your hammock and chill, go hiking or mountain biking at Cacapon State Park, take the kayaks out and paddle around, go fishing, or take a float trip. I can provide info on put in/take out spots depending on how long you'd like to float. I have 3 kayaks available for your use, or BYO if you'd like to venture further outside of the property lines. There is one big fire ring for cooking and/or bonfires, along with a large stationary stand up charcoal camp grill. There is also a small communal shed down at camp that contains extra camping supplies, etc.. feel free to use use and put back and or/ contribute to it! :) This spot is close by to Berkeley Springs, Paw Paw Tunnel, Cacapon State Park, and other nature preserves. More hiking, biking, restaurants, spas, antiquing- all within a beautiful 20 minute drive if you wish to venture out. There is a cabin on the property. I will more often be home than not, I will communicate with you about that around your stay. Sometimes I"ll come down to the river frontage if I drop in for a float .Also, we all get around on four wheelers and UTV's. So you will hear them from time to time. If I am home, please feel free to come up if you have any concerns/questions or to say hi! :) *Please note, you can normally get to this site without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. However, when the river is high it will sometimes flood the low water bridge where it crosses the Cacapon. If this is the case during your stay, I will provide all necessary information regarding projected river levels and directions. I will also offer a full refund if the bridge is impassable. We are located less than a five minute walk to the rocks and feature unique, mountain/valley views from the eastern aspect of the iconic rock formations. There are private trails leading directly to both Roy Gap Road as well as the North Peak of Seneca Rocks. Local attractions include Spruce Knob - Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area, Monongahela National Forest, Germany Valley, Seneca Caverns, Nelson Rocks, Smoke Hole, North Fork Mountain, Canaan Valley, Davis, Thomas, North Fork South Branch of the Potomac River, and so many more. Fourth Moon Camp may be accessed by reservation only, via Roy Gap Road. This road is a gravel, state road. It is single-vehicle-width in many places, uphill, and without any easy turnouts. We all need each other and nature to thrive as a species. Learn more about this land: This is a beautiful 44 acre land with a water stream running through it making it a serene and relaxing hidden gem. The camp site is on a 12 acre open field with complete privacy from the main road with Sheep living on the property. There are two small mountain ridges that are great for hiking while being able to enjoy the scenic panoramic views. There is also a 9 acres of land across the main camp site that is surrounded by water on 3 sides, which is excellent for fishing. We are located just a few miles from the West Virginia boarder. TIPS: -PLEASE KEEP ALL FOOD IN THE CAR when going to sleep or when you are away from the site. - The area has wild animals (snakes, bears, coyotes, etc.) so make sure you stay safe and keep your food in a secure place. *pro-tip: animals are typically more scared of you, however be cautious and watch your step. - During the Spring and Summer, there are all kind of bugs around so make sure bug spray is a priority!! - There are two natural spring waters locations near by. - If your planning to go into the water make sure to put on WATER SHOES! and enter at your own risk.
