Hidden Meadow on Henderson Inlet

3 sites · RVs, Tents4 acres · Olympia, WA
Situated on 16 acres in the south end of Henderson Inlet, Hidden Meadow offers both proximity to town and immersion in nature. Consisting of two large fields, lush forest, stream, and Henderson inlet, the property offers complete privacy in nature while being only minutes from town. The campground is located in a private meadow in the North East corner of the property over 600 feet from the house. The camp is adjacent to a roughly 4 acre meadow with plenty of space for the kids to run around or play games. We have a network for nature trails along the 600 ft shoreline of Henderson Inlet. Along the trails you will find several different sit spots to enjoy nature from. In the summer, enjoy picking black berries and salmon berries off the trails. At high tides, enjoy the views of the inlet from the deck along with the various sit spots that overlook the water. Eagles, hawks, falcons, shore birds and a variety of forest birds make this place their home. We are also frequented by the local deer who might come say hi. We are about 10 minutes from downtown Olympia and about 5 minutes from I-5. You may see us around during the day, playing, working in the yard or walking the trails. However, we will respect campers' privacy. We do have two dogs on the property (Wilma and Bean) who are very friendly and we will keep them out of camp during your stay. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 8am. Sound travels well over the water so please be mindful. We have a long, steep, curvy driveway. At the bottom of the driveway, you will find signs directing you to the camp site. If you have extra vehicles, we have extra parking spaces adjacent to the campsite. The road out to camp may be bumpy (we do our best to keep it smooth) so go slow and beware of natural obstacles. All fires must be completely extinguished before leaving unattended. There is water available and a bucket to fill to put your fires out with. Campsite boundaries: Please keep all vehicles on the designated roads. You have access to the field north of the campsite and all of the walking trails between the water and the fields. See photo of boundaries. Note: please bring your own firewood and check ahead for burn bans. In the evenings there may be mosquitos so make sure to bring your bug spray.

There are many ways to connect and explore this land; wander through the rose, herb, and vegetable gardens, sit and meditate in the Weavers Grove, pick herbs and greens to add to your evening meal, or sit with your knitting and watch the sheep. Whether you come to escape or to connect, you will find it here. NOTE: This is a working farm we have animals, dirt, sticks, bugs, and poop, and lots of opportunities to "connect" with Nature. All of our amenities are shared spaces, designed to foster community. You will find good signs with clear communication here. All of our lodgings are off-grid with no electricity or running water. Water, electricity, and wifi are available in the kitchen, garden, cafe, and lounge areas. Please bring battery-operated lights, bedding, and a pillow, unless otherwise noted. We request that campers check in before 8 pm. More than a campground this is a destination, come for the weekend or stay for the week. We have camping, glamping, and cabins available throughout the summer months. We also offer tours of the animals and gardens. There is a shower house, bathhouse, summer kitchen, library, cafe, fiber studio, yarn shop, and lots of outdoor seating. Additionally, we have safe potable water, a portable toilet, and two charcoal/wood barbeques available for your use on the patio. Our gardens provide flowers, food, medicine, and the magic for weddings and celebrations. The Weavers Grove holds our spiritual center and sanctuary, a place to wander and connect to land and spirit. Curley Creek Canyon

8 sites · RVs, Tents10 acres · Port Orchard, WA
Forest camping on a huckleberry farm with a salmon stream. 10 acres of permaculture and mycology includes 5 granite fire pits and loop trails with dispersed tent sites. A remote island, naturist beach and kayak at the creek. Parking is limited. Guests love it here: "We stayed two nights at Curley Creek Canyon and loved the experience! Jerrett was a wonderful host and met us upon arrival with great recommendations of places to explore on his beautiful property. The camp sites are clean, private, and have fire pits, and benches provided. We took the roped trail down to the creek (bring gloves its a bit steep) and saw large groups of salmon swim upstream. This time of year is magical with the dropping leafs and lush moss/fungus sightings. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick getaway from the city to connect to nature. Thanks, Jerrett for the experience and look forward to our next visit!"

Prancing Unicorn

32 sites · RVs, Tents6 acres · Shelton, WA
The Prancing Unicorn Resort and Recreation (PURR) is an eclectic, boutique, private campground, located at the doorstep to the Olympic Peninsula. With easy access right off of Highway 101, it is a safe, convenient rest stop for visitors to the Olympic National Park, adventurers exploring the coasts, and cyclists biking Pacific Coast Route. Disclaimer: We are not a traditional manicured country club campground resort and may not be for everyone. Please reserve at your own discretion. Our space is an art collective, makerspace and event venue that host art and music festivals. It is eclectic, and can be messy at times with on going art projects, but that adds to the charm. We also have a "junkyard" area on property where we collect materials for repurposing, that may be perceived as an "eye sore." Some of the art displayed may challenge your sensibility. However, if you come with an open mind and perspective, seeking a safe private rest stop for the night in an eclectic art festival setting and surrounded by the sounds of birds and wildlife, you will enjoy our space a lot more, and we welcome you!

Bumps & Bruzas

3 sites · RVs, Tents5 acres · Orting, WA
I recently bought this place from a friend's family. The name is in honor of him, "Bruzas in Bumps & Bruzas." He loved having people out all the time for fires and BBQs and just random fun. This place was went meant to be shared in his vision, so thats what I'm doing with it.The setup is simple, we are a property on the Carbon River with nearly 800ft of river front access. The levee runs along the length of the property creating continuous camping availability. Please honor the property and adopt the LEAVE NO TRACE habits~ if possible please leave it better than you found it. We're a casual family friendly environment. We look forward to seeing you at our special property on the Carbon River. Please contact us for any other questions you may have!

Tahuya Adventure Resort

21 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents38 acres · Belfair, WA
3 sisters and our brother in law decided we wanted to make a place where people can enjoy the Northwest that we grew up in. It doesn't matter if you bring your own tent, drive an rv, or rent the luxury tent, the great outdoors is there for all to enjoy! We have great places to pitch your own tent and enjoy the rustic pleasures just being outdoors. The sites are rustic and access to trails are nearby. We also have a wonderful covered outdoor kitchen with propane grill, microwave, and coffee pot. A safe place to gather with family. Bring your RV and park and have a large site to yourself. You have room to spread out your awning without hitting the next vehicle. Each site has its own picnic table and fire ring. Also if you are in the mood you have a covered kitchen to meet and mingle with other guests. We also have a big screen tv in the kitchen so you don't miss the Seahawks games. Drive in and enjoy a lovely view of unspoiled woods from the deck of your canvas tent. Enter the door into a spacious area with a king or queen size bed and small kitchen area. Each tent has its own heat source for your comfort. Each tent has its table right outside on the deck but it you are feeling social come enjoy our outdoor kitchen. We are open year round and It is different every season Our guests love staying here "This site has absolutely everything you need. You'll want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, but I think that was the only things I noticed I'd want. They even had firewood for us, no extra charge! David, his wife, and everyone else that helps maintain the property were SO sweet and welcoming. Seems like it would be a lovely place to stay in the winter, so thats when I'd like to come back! 5 stars all the way for everything here, the thoughtfulness of the cabins, the cleanliness, the readily available kitchen and the hospitality. You NEED to check this place out."
